    Part One: 30 Days to a Better You—Your Journey Begins

    Are you ready to head down a path with me and become a better you? As with all adventures, the destination may be great, but so is the journey! Don’t forget to savor life’s precious moments and enjoy the ride. And most importantly, don’t be too hard on yourself as you prioritize your life and implement changes. You’re a work in progress, and you can do anything you set out to do.

    The Laws of Life: Polarity

    Everything in the universe has an opposite. Everything is dual: hot-cold, up-down, bad-good. Before we breathe in, we must breathe out. A person with a front also has a back. There is no inside without an outside. Even magnetic fields have a north pole and a south pole.

    A life experience absent of the Law of Polarity would deny you the ability to fully experience your life.—Chuck Danes

    A situation that you perceive to be bad also has to have some good. If what you perceive as bad did not exist, a good experience would be meaningless to you. For example, if poverty did not exist, you wouldn’t know what it was like to experience wealth. You know success because failure exists.

    No matter how bad you think a situation may be, you really don’t know the depth of the situation or its ultimate role in your life. Flunking out of college might be absolutely horrible at the time, yet this same terrible situation could shape your life for the better as you go on to become a stronger person and pursue other options. There will be lows and highs in life, because everything is in constant motion. You are not always going to feel good all the time. The lows help you appreciate the highs and remind you, when you are in that low state, to guard your thoughts and your heart. Better times are coming. Highs will always be followed by the lows and lows by the highs.

    Learn to fully accept and surrender to whatever may appear in your life—events, conditions, circumstances. You will be given power to overcome each one of them. Throughout your journey, you will discover that, regardless of how those events and experiences are perceived, they will work together for your good if you don’t give up. You need to know, without a doubt, that you possess the potential as well as the ability to experience harmony and fulfillment in each and every area of your life.

    Daily Flowery Inspiration: Take Action!

    Good intentions, insights, understanding, and awareness are fine, but they are of no value if you don’t take action. By reading this book, you are already doing so! This is an excellent first step.

    If you want a meaningful life, don’t just sit and think about what you want—take meaningful, directional action. For example, if you want to become more generous, go out of your way to express your thanks, appreciation, or generosity at least once each day. An action you can take to make sure this happens is to buy a year’s worth of thank-you cards and stamps. Keep your cards handy and send thank-you notes, uplifting messages, or even donations to good causes on a regular basis. Though these may be small gestures, they are concrete, meaningful actions toward becoming more generous. Make sure that every step you take points you toward the outcome you are hoping for.

    It is also very important that you give everything your best effort and keep a positive state of mind. Your actions are affected by the mood you are in when you take them. Life is experienced in the doing, and your happiness must also be in the doing, not dependent on the end result. Enjoy the journey!

    Life Advice and Thoughts

    Accepting reality is not passivity; it is alignment. Once you internally align with what is, you receive the power to create your own reality. When you resist what is, you align with what you are against, and that takes away your power.

    For example, if somebody you love does something that hurts you, you have to accept and own it. That is the reality, and it can’t be changed. When you think that somebody shouldn’t have done what he’s done, you go up against a reality that cannot be changed. But when you choose to see the situation in a more loving way, you rise above the situation, and the situation changes.
