Preface
There is a fresh wind of the Holy Spirit blowing in the hearts of believers. A rekindling of spiritual gifts is necessary to be effective in works. A resurgence of spiritual fruit exists and every believer should stop each season to participate in the planting of the Lord. To understand why Jesus Christ and the apostle Paul dominated public ministry with their spiritual gifts is to comprehend another level of your spiritual fruit and gifts.
This book suggests concepts and give strong biblical facts that relate believers to a proficient role in ministry works. It is my fervent prayer that after reading this book, everyone would be motivated to and provoked to apply this information in enhancement of public ministry.
Excited! Motivated! Enthusiastic! That is the reaction of many readers who experienced the power of God while reading this book and took a bold leap of faith in exercising their spiritual gift. No longer will you have to stand by feeling confused, idle or excluded while the door to public ministry is wide open and people are awaiting your assistance.
I am thrilled to write this book and recommend it for personal and group discussion. Each day, all of us have to grow our fruit of the spirit and model the character of Jesus Christ. Sharing the gospel of Christ is only successful when others see Christ in you, feel His message of love, compassion and forgiveness flowing through us. The Holy Spirit appeals in a nurturing way to the hearts of others though your inspirational words and behavior.
Like spiritual gifts, spiritual fruit play an integral role and function in the initiation of ministry works. Within the past decade, a spiritual awakening emerged in Christians about understanding what spiritual fruit and the callings of God upon their lives is really about. This is a hot topic. In mainstream Christianity, every believer needs to acquire biblical knowledge and information that will strengthen their hands for the work.
Faith without substantive and qualitative efforts in ministry is worthless. Likewise, concealing, ignoring and misunderstanding the purpose of one’s spiritual fruit and gifts. Spiritual development and maturity can only progress through sustained levels of personal commitment in building the Kingdom of God.
Our instructional efforts have been widely accepted and incorporated in both religious and secular organizations. Most of the teachings in this book are offered through our Bible College, Baruch Leadership Training Academy, and in workshops which we facilitate around the world. We bring the school to you. We provide an affordable education in a year-round setting via a Correspondence Program, and with on-campus instructional Certificate and Degree Programs at our North Miami, Goulds, Florida, and Bahamas campuses. Acknowledgments
All praise and glory be unto Almighty God for bestowing this privilege upon me to share this information with you. I believe that this workbook was inspired by God and written under the Teacher’s anointing.
This book goes forth with gratitude and prayer that Jesus Christ will be honored, God will enlighten the eyes of our understanding concerning the mysteries of the church that are being revealed today. Personal awareness of spiritual growth and expansion of ideas is being imparted to the church through preventive and corrected viewpoints from anointed and seasoned leaders.
Dedicated to my husband Princey, I am grateful for continuing to share me with the Body of Christ in ministry. Thanks for patience, understanding, support and encouragement.
To my deceased dad, Prince, whose harsh disciplines provoked me to get a better understanding of why people behave the way they do and their business endeavors are stifled or failed. It was in our convenience store that I learned to recognize covetousness, poor goal management and attainment skills, defeat, fear and procrastination in the lives of many believers. Thanks for showing me the way to Christ.
To my mom Rose, thanks for your encouragement, support, patience and prayers.
For my sisters Josephine, Theresa, Salena, Cherese and Patricia.
For my brothers Peter, Jeff, the late Prince Jr., Chris, Preston and David.
For all my colleagues in the gospel, the late Pastor Edney Bowleg and the Mother’s Prayer Band especially Mothers Nairn, Greene and King, and Pastor Garneth Campbell Andros, Bahamas; Pastors J.J. & Waide Hepburn and Evangelist Shirley Burrows, Eleuthera, Bahamas; Pastor Rudy Roberts and Mother Roberts, Freeport, Bahamas; Rev. Robert & Augustino Andoh, Ghana, Africa; Pastor George Hooper and Bishop Stephen Asare, Italy; Pastor Edna Bryan, Evangelist Margaret Reynolds, Betty Wright, Miami, Florida, and Minister Sandy Purcell, Georgia; the faithful partners around the world, all my students and my church family at Baruch Christian Fellowship Ministries.

Spiritual Fruit
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control
(Galatians 5:22-23-King James NIV Bible)
The revelation to develop this book came from many visits to Italy. As I journeyed through a the orchards in a place called Somma Compagna, I was illumined by the scores of neatly lined rows of kiwis, olive trees and other fruit plants along the highway. What was more alluring to me were the variety of apples trees with fruits for the season.
For years I taught about role and function of the Fruit of the Spirit in a believer’s work and ministry. My knowledge of how our Father, through patience, lovingly nurtures spiritual fruit in the growth process of our lives.
Each time I observed the apple farmers, in a neat and clean, smelly fertilized environment, they tenderly placed bags around the new plants for a season (Winter). Then at another season, the bags came off and new shoots appeared (Spring). I experienced in this season how aromatic the air became from the fragrance of the trees.
Later on, the trees were in full bloom and little apples were visible in that season. At another season, beautiful, healthy red, green, golden and other apple species decorated the trees . In this season, I saw full fruit baskets on the ground and people loading some of the baskets onto trucks, people picking apples and others spraying the base of the trees with fertilizer (Summer). At another season, I passed by and the ground was rooted up and bare. I realized that this was the time of tilling the ground and planting new seeds (Autumn).
I must confess that during the non-growing seasons, driving throughout the entire farmlands was an eye-opening and mind-clearing experience. The horrid stench from the fertilizer made me think of how many seasons of life God tilled my life, sowed new seeds, poured in the fertilizer and left me to marinate in the heat of His word.
When I beheld the beauty of those trees throughout the tilling growth and pruning process, I thought to myself that this is how God shapes, makes and molds our lives each season of the year. I recalled how in my adolescent years, my grand-aunt and other family members who were farmers, would tend their fruit plants, tie bottles filled with fertilizer and water on the branches, and spray the plants at different times of the year.
One thing that was clear to me as I sat in the shade of an older mango tree is how much patience and hard work was put into producing good fruit that made the farmers proud and yielded a hefty monetary reward.
This book will now take you on a deeper spiritual and intellectual journey to help you produce godly fruit and understand how faith and love work together to become an effective Christian.
Here five (5) Learning Objectives to guide your comprehension. Each Reader will acquire:
a. A solid comprehension of how spiritual fruit, gifts and works are inter-related
b. An ability to define spiritual fruit, gifts and works in paramount ways
c. Insights concerning the efficacy of effective ministry and service
d. The significance of personal empowerment with spiritual fruit, gifts and works for efficiency and corporate effectiveness
e. How the Holy Spirit guides from faith to reward
What is Spiritual Fruit?
Spiritual fruit is the indwelling seed that is likened to the cross-pollination of love and faith, which is borne in the heart and produced from the Spirit of God. It is the by-product of righteousness. Godly virtues are manifested in the life of a believer from this internal growing vine. It illustrates the quality of Christian character.
I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
(John 15:4-5)
Many believers are involved in a struggle with the works of the flesh.
