    **After the Concert**

Joe left, and Barbara, Kelly Clarkson, the Maroon 5, and Erik Narwhal and the Manatees left the Bushell that night!

Joe Star went up to his friends and said "I will be seeing you soon! But my driver is waiting, so I will send you an email.

Maybe we can do something together and record a CD, said Joe to Barbara Fowler.

You must speak to my manger, and then we can set up a time for the recording.

That will be awesome! But now I must run!

    All right!

About ten minute later, Joe Star and his band were in the car and headed to New Britain, Connecticut.

Joe started to speak to Jim and said, Well, we did the fundraiser, and now we can go home and rest! I am so exhausted from the concert.

    So am I! said Jim.

I love to perform, but sometimes it is tiresome!

    Yes, it is!

So what it is our schedule?

Well, we will be going to Boston; then to Strousburg, Pennsylvania; and then to Orlando, Florida to play on the stage at the Walt Disney resort.

    That will be awesome!

    Yes it will be!

    They headed home.

Joe looked out and said Now we are leaving Hartford.

    That’s great! said Jim.

    I know!

When we get there we have to unpack!

    Do we have to?

    Yep!

Darn, I thought I would be going straight home.

It will take about forty-five minutes; that’s not too bad.

    Yes it is!

I am totally out of it!

But you still need to do it.

    I know!

Then they arrived. They all stepped out and removed the instruments and put them inside the garage and locked it up.

Joe said, Remember the day that I bought my first guitar?

We thought you were nuts! said Jim.

But you still became my band members.

Well Joe, I have to leave. I will see you tomorrow for practice, and we will try a new sound.

    That’s awesome, said Joe.

    See Ya!

Joe walked into the house, and his mom was waiting for him to come in. Marie, his mom, came up to her son and said, I am proud of you!

    Thanks, Mom!

Well son, we will talk about school in the morning.

But mom, you know that I will be staying at New Britain High School.

But I thought you could get a private tutor.

No! Mom! I want to stay and graduate with my classmates. What’s wrong with that, Mom?

Nothing, but please, we must discuss this in the morning.

    No!

He stormed into his room and locked the door.

Joe lay on his bed and thought about what style of music to play.

I must come up with new lyrics, a different style and look, and then a little different style of the hair color.

Well, we don’t want to look like punk rockers, and we will sure lose our fans, said Jim

No, we will be the same as we were!

Joe thought to himself, and then he fell asleep. The next morning he came up with new lyrics for a song!

It was a sweet song about Jeanne. He was once in love with his half sister, but knew that he had to find new love someplace else. Jeanne left town and became a dancer and moved to New York.

Joe and his band kept playing clubs, such as the Brickyard.

    Also, they toured the Northeast.

Joe and his band had a lot of fans.

Joe always got good gigs, and Joe wanted to hit the charts in the top twenty.

Joe always tried to be seen by the public.

Joe passed out business cards and talked to his fans, but he knew that he needed more publicity to be a star.

Joe knew that he had worked very hard to be a really successful musician.

But Joe never gave up his dreams!

    **My Song Lyrics**

    Listen to the words!

The words that I speak, I want you to hear what I am saying

When you do not look at me

I think that you don’t paid attention to me

But babe, I want you to hear my words

Don’t look back at me like you do not understand what I am saying

But babe, listen to your heart and listen to words that I say

Maybe it is not your day to stay

Come with me, and I will show the day

Remember the kiss when I miss you

Come close to me and don’t be scared

But sometimes I dare to share my love with you

It might break my heart into two

But I know we belong together

Don’t walk away; I want to talk

You look at me very strange, but I smile at you

You came close to me and told me that I wanted you

    But you don’t love me

Two out three is not bad, but you will not pretend that you care for me

Sometimes you make me angry, but I do understand what you are going through; you and I will be fine

We speak and are on the same page, but we are only friends

Don’t look for yesterday when today is a new day

But please don’t play no games

You know that I feel the same

    Listen to the words!

    Open your eyes

When you peek I will give you a wink

Today I see that you are wearing pink

But what are you wearing that I smell—the odor of which you stink?

Stay away from me; I do not want to be near you

Then I see tears in your eyes

But then I see the fear in your eyes

But honey, I don’t want to hurt your feelings

But babe, you give me no choice; I don’t want to be with you

So why don’t you leave me alone?

But I see your open eyes

And the blue eyes staring at me

    What have I done?

Please come back to me; I have opened my eyes for you

    But you were gone, far,
