About this ebook
A Journey in Poetry depicts a journey in the recovery process. I am taking you through a journey of good and bad times, reflected in thoughts and feelings; places where we all have been at different times. The book is about life; struggles which we all have; about answers which we all find.
Many people have inspired me to write this book and I thank each and every one of you. I hope that, while you are reading this book you have time to reflect on the passages, to feel the words, to love the stories. I hope it touches your life.

A Journey in Poetry - Pam Ragsdale
ALL ALONE
There is a tree standing out
Out in a field
It seems so all alone
Barren with but
A single branch
Withering away into nothing
But there is still a chance
That man can save it
And it will grow to be ever so
Strong and beautiful
Once again
MY JOURNEY
I never knew that my safe haven would
Become a bigger refuge for me
When I entered the third floor
A whole new world opened up
I was scared
All those faces
All those rooms
Hustle and bustle
Schedules and outings
But no chaos was found
Calmness enveloped all around
Even a lounge to rest in
You got to be kidding
You will let me rest
Now you really got my interest up
Now I have to choose groups
Hmmm a big decision
For an isolated
Confused person like me
As the day went by
Consumers said hi
And a closeness started
To develop with some
Something I never thought possible
As I was a loner
A change came over me
The camouflage clothing began
To disappear
And old levis replaced them
What no cammies
