      DEDICATION

      This book is dedicated to the God of the Universe, Jehovah, who endowed me with the gift of writing. Also, to my only child, Marlenea, who is now deceased and who inspired many of my poems. As a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who has worn many hats in her life, work-wise and otherwise, I was compelled to write down my feelings and thoughts. It has been a healing for me and has brought me joy and peace. And I hope I have done the same for others.

      BLUE

      Sometimes, it seems that no one cares when we

      are feeling blue, but rest assured my dear

      good friend there is someone who thinks

      of you.

      Sometimes it seems that no one cares when we

      are down and out, but don’t give up the faith

      my friend for God is all about.

      There are good days; there are bad days, and some

      in-between, but no matter what days God

      can intervene.

      So don’t give in and don’t give out, keep up the

      fight and your faith. For, God will bless you

      all of your days if you remain in his love and

      his grace.

      CAUGHT UP

      Sometimes, we can get caught up in our own

      pains and frustrations and we forget about

      each other.

      But, never let it be said; that I forgot about you

      my dear sister and brother.

      We all have need of encouragement to help us

      along the way, to support us in our faith and

      help us not to sway.

      We may not always say the right things or do

      what we are told. But we are trying to do all

      we can to reach our Godly goals.

      I want to thank you for your being a part of our

      Christian Association of Brothers, for spiritual

      truths shared with the Congregation and for

      helping and assisting one another.

      I am grateful for your encouragement that helps

      me continue to be, one of God’s great crowd of

      witnesses who is serving him faithfully.

      CHRISTIAN AFFECTION

      How can I ever thank you? Mere words cannot express,

      I know it took love, consideration and time to prepare

      for your honored guest.
