Galactic Quest: White Wizard Weapon

CHAPTER 1

TRAVELERS IN ROUTE

The three are now on their way down the portal to the next world. The three had never been so cold in their lives. They all wished that they would have worn something more suited to the cold of this portal; even the portals before were never this long or cold. They were all spinning and shivering as they went down the passage way to what they hope to be a warmer world. All of a sudden they all went crashing face first on a piece of land in the middle of the portal.

What the heck did we hit Ron said as he pealed his body off the ground.

It appears to be a chunk of ground Ron replied Lillanium as she got up to her feet and feeling the pain of the fall throughout her tiny body. Jeffrow you okay?

Jeffrow then rolled over and looked up and said Darn piece of rock, a feller could be hurt bad with this thin’ in the way! We’re also still in this darn transport syst’m!

That we are everything is still a deep brilliant blue and this place is cold as crap but there is vegetation growing in this place said Ron Well I hope something is eatable on this stinking rock; I’m hungry!

As soon as the three stood up and dusted themselves off they went to explore the new land they found themselves in. The vegetation was a strange brown-orange color but still looked healthy. There were trees and bushes in this cold strange land. The three also saw some stuff that looks like it might be eatable but Ron would have to inspect it first before anyone could eat any of it. The last thing they needed to do was eat something to make them all sick or immobilize them! Ron then began the task of examining the vegetation for something they all could eat. Ron determined that only 2 of species of what appeared to be fruit to be harmful to them so he told the others to steer clear of these two types of fruit things. The three then ate their fill of food then were off again to explore the land; then try to figure out how to get off of it.

Maybe our next course of action should be to find some sort of thing to make warmer clothing said Lillanium with some hope the other two would agree with her.

We are going to find the end of this rock then we will then decided what to do next said Ron No need in getting something warmer if we are getting off of this rock. Now let’s get moving it will help us warm up for the time being.

The three didn’t have to travel too far to find the end of the landmass. When they approached the edge they noticed that the portal had a river flowing from the rock in the direction they needed to go. Ron found a stick and put it into the water and when he pulled it out it was smaller then when he put it in! Then Ron decided to put a piece of fruit on the end of a stick to see what would happen to the fruit. When he pulled the fruit and the stick back out of the water the fruit and stick had shrank in size.

I wonder if this is liquid nitrogen said Ron There is no real way to tell but it does the same thing that liquid nitrogen does but that don’t make it that.

Feller you lost me said Jeffrow with a puzzled look on his face.

The thing is I don’t know if we can get off this rock Jeffrow said Ron in frustration.

From out of no where a bull came running towards the three. The bull was a beautiful black and it had a nose ring made of what appeared to be silver. The bull seemed to mean business and had its head lowered to try and gore one of them. All three of them dodged the bull with no incident several times then the bull did something they all did not expect the bull turned into an elderly looking human man. The man had long white hair and beard; he was about 6 feet 5 inches tall. This man was also very muscular and wore what appeared to be some outfit from the Greek or Roman time frame on earth. He walked with confidence up to the three and stood there staring at them.

Ron then said Hi, my name is Ron we are apart of the Galactic Counsel and we are their chosen warriors. This here is Jeffrow and this hear is Lillanium.

Let me see the marks that you all should bare then said the old man with a loud low voice.

Tell us your name and we shall show you our marks shouted Ron!

I asked first and I shall see them or I shall be forced to destroy you or die trying said the old man in anger.

The three not wanting a fight all showed him there marks on their bodies. He looked over them all very carefully while looking at the palms of his hands. When he was done with his inspection of their marks he came back to Ron and looked him dead into the eyes.

Okay White Wizard my name is Achelous and I was apart of a three at one point and this is where I came to Retire said the old man as he showed Ron his hands.

Achelous had the Galactic seal in the same hand as Ron and saw that he was also a White Wizard at some point in time. Ron motioned for the others to come and see the marks on Achelous hands. They were all in aw; they could not believe they ran into one of the three from a time long ago.

So the Galactic Counsel sent you here for Retirement Ron said sounding a little confused.

No, I asked them to send me here because I could not return to my home planet… that and I cannot stand a lot of beings around me said Achelous with a sigh That is what happens to some of us…. We just get tired of war and other beings! So I chose the one place that I knew I could survive and not become something that I would hate…. The evil I was fighting.

I am glade you found a place where you could live in peace other then the occasional travelers like us said Ron with a smirk.

Not too many people come through but when they do they are usually someone the Galactic Counsel has sent on a mission or have gotten here by mistake laughed Achelous. Well I am sure you all would like some warmer clothes and a place to lay your head down for the night. Just follow me to my home and you can stay there until we can get you out of here and onto your next mission!

While the three were following Achelous to his home the portal opened once again and spat out three creatures. They looked like the sorcerer and the two witches from the court of King Talon. They had the same tattered garments on that they were wearing when they left the King to his doom.

Fine place we landed in… it is very brrrrr said Spaz.

Quit your winning witch we need to figure out where we landed and how to get the rest of the way to where we are going shouted Kinon I so hate these portal jumps you never know where you will end up!

Sister we should use our magic to get something warmer that will solve that problem and as far as these portal things we were told by the head sorcerer of Sorcerer’s Palace to make sure we keep an eye on the three said Cheman.

Yes once again witches you are right Kinon sighed Now all we have to do is find them shouldn’t be too hard; this place cannot be too big.

The three began there search for Ron, Jeffrow, and Lillanium. They cast a spell to try and find Ron’s magic foot steps and the spell worked. They followed the tracks to the river on the other side of the land. They saw that there was another two magical beings with them.

Great now we are going to be out numbered how are we going to be able to keep them from going onto the next world Spaz said shaking with fear.

We will find a way my sister and we will kill them all shouted Cheman.

We shouldn’t have to worry too much about one of these magical creatures I think because it looks like a beast said Kinon.

Let’s follow these tracks here leading away from the water to find those on whom we must keep our eyes on said Cheman.

They followed the tracks to what looked to be a huge Rock. The tracks stopped two feet in front of the rock. They searched high and low for any signs that the three used magic to move to a different location on this little bit of land in the middle of the portal, the only thing that they saw with the spells that they cast that the rock glowed. They all figured if they touched the rock it would transport them to where ever the three had gone to. They touched the rock and nothing happened they were all still standing there looking at each other dumbfounded. The rock did not appear to be enchanted; what they didn’t know was it was a teleporter ran by energy supplied by the Galactic Counsel.

What do we do now O’ great sorcerer ask Charman in a sarcastic tone.

We wait scowled Kinon.

Down in the home of Achelous the three were making themselves comfortable while Achelous went into the kitchen. The three started to smell the food that he was cooking and there mouths started to water. They were so hungry and were glade to have a home cooked meal for once. Once Achelous was done he poke his head back into the room and was waving his hand for them to follow him. They all got up quickly and went to the kitchen to see what the wonderful smell was. When they entered the room they saw a huge table covered with meat and fruit. Achelous sat down and made a gesture for the rest of them to follow suit. The three sat down and ate greedily. Once everyone was done eating the three just sat there and thought to themselves; I should have not ate this much.

I have something to tell all of you spoke Achelous in a deep soft tone You were followed here by three who use the black arts. Before you came there was many who came here and that are now gone who used the black arts. I assume that you are following these beings and the three in trail of you are supposed to take you out of the equation. Will you kindly explain what is going on Ron White Wizard of Earth?

We are following the first group of sorcerers to try and get back the White Wizard Weapon said Ron.

Are you telling me they have united the five pieces of that weapon Achelous said with a harsh and worried tone.

Five pieces asked the Three in unison We were just told of the weapon and no more said Ron.

Now I will show you to the room where you all will sleep chuckled Achelous We will talk about this weapon more later on!

They followed him through out his home and were admiring all his furniture and the painting he had hanging every where. Ron came to realize that they were underground in a cave but every place in the home was well lighted by candles. The cave had some many different formations of rocks and crystals of all colors. This cave was nothing short of wonderful. Achelous showed Ron and Jeffrow there shared room. He took Lillanium further down the hall and showed her to her private quarters. Lillanium was so happy she had a place to herself because she had to share everything sense this whole three thing started. They all had a restful sleep that night knowing that they were protected by the home of there new found Friend.

Achelous waited to the three friends went to sleep and he opened a wall in the study room of his cave. With in the wall was a big computerized device that had a screen. He sat down in a chair in front of the screen and pushed a button. He waited a few minutes and Rich came up on the screen.

What is going on Achelous ask Rich sleepy eyed.

I have Ron, Jeffrow, and Lillanium here; they also have three black magic users in trail said Achelous There was also a group of black magic users that came through here before that.

Does this concern the white wizard weapon ask Rich.

Yes, it does. Why didn’t you tell them that there are five parts to the weapon asked Achelous.

I thought if they could get the first part from them that it wouldn’t be a big problem said Rich and it is not to you to question the counsel on how it conducts business!!

Alright I am sorry for over stepping and not staying in my lane. I would like to join them on this journey for this weapon seeking sense it was me who broke up the weapon and hid the parts said Achelous.

Okay, you may aid them on this mission and I am also going to send Eldwald to you and the three to help out said Rich There is just too many variables and too many magic users involved to just let Ron go this one by himself. He is still not strong enough yet!

Why didn’t you mention the other two asked Achelous.

I didn’t mention them because they are not going to be much help with the magic users but they will help out with regular battles said Rich With that being said I am going back to bed.

The screen went blank right in front of his eyes. He shut down his communicator and closed up the room so the three will not be able to find the device. He blew out all the candles in the cave and retired to his chambers to contemplate the next move. Achelous knew that the three black magic users were waiting for them to come out of the teleporter on the surface.

The next morning the three friends were woken by the sounds of clanging pots and pans and could smell the wonderful smells that came from the kitchen. They all hurried to get dressed they didn’t want to keep Achelous waiting on them. Once they were all dressed they ran down the hall that took them to the dinning area. They all sat down in the seats that they occupied the night before and waited for Achelous to either bring breakfast to them or to call them into the kitchen and get themselves some of the food. They sat there patiently listening to the sounds of the ruckus in the kitchen and just savoring the smells of the food with in.

The sounds stopped abruptly then Achelous shouted Come into the kitchen if you three want some food or you could just sit around the table and starve!

They all made a mad dash for the kitchen to try to be the first one to get this delicious smelling food. They all tried to fit through the massive kitchen door at the same time and they all went stumbling into the kitchen and onto their bellies on the kitchen floor. Achelous just started to laugh deep and hardy at the site he saw coming through the kitchen door.

There is not any food down there you three Achelous said still laughing You all might want to stand up wash your hands in the kitchen sink then grab a plate and I will serve you your food. Once you get your food sit at the same places you did last night and I will be in to join you in a second.

They all got up and did what Achelous instructed them to do and shortly after the last of the three sat down at the table Achelous came in with his food and sat down. The three ate greedily because they didn’t know when they were going to get a meal like this next. Achelous ate slowly and chuckled to himself at the way they were eating. He honestly enjoyed having some company, he like them because they were all good creatures and didn’t act like other Counsel Threes have acted in the past. They were arrogant and did as they pleased this three seem to want to please their elders and wanted to do justice to their positions.

Now that we are all done eating we need to get down to business said Achelous.

Okay, so what do we need to do Achelous to get off this…. What ever this is asked Ron.

That is going to be the hard part Achelous chuckled We are going to need to clear some trees to make a boat. We will need to treat the wood in the water first, then we may build.

How long is this going to take asked Lillanium.

It will take as long as it is going to take to build it to hold 20 people but be manned by three said Achelous The Counsel also thinks that it is a wise idea that I come with you and we will meet up with Eldwald on the Planet.

Why so many Fellers with magic asked Jeffrow.

Because Ron is not ready to handle this kind of assault by himself replied Achelous.

He has us shouted Lillanium.

Sorry to say you will not be much help said Achelous This is a war that needs magic users more then warriors. Yes, you all have some magic of your own but not the kind we need! I am sorry but it is better that we have three White Wizards to do battle with these scum! Don’t worry you two will have your place in this war to come. We need to get started if we are going to get down the river. Be prepared to fight when we reach the surface; they are waiting for us.

Who is waiting for us asked Lillanium.

The Sorcerer and the twin Witches said Ron, with his eyes being as white as snow and turning back to normal after he spoke.

Ron that was creepy please don’t do that again shrieked Lillanium.

I will be more careful next time; on where I use my sight at sighed Ron.

We are going to have to be ready to fight once we hit the surface grumbled Achelous.

They all then touched a stone similar to the one that they touched on the surface and they all disappeared from the Cave. Up on the surface Kinon, Spaz, and Cheman noticed that the rock on the surface was glowing a brilliant green. Right before there eyes they saw four beings appear in front of them. Kinon’s mouth dropped when he saw the size of Achelous. As soon as Achelous saw them he casted a spell that blew them all back to the place they had first landed.

Okay, you three we need to get started on this project before those three show back up again Achelous spoke in a commanding tone.

K Feller wher’ do we start asked Jeffrow.

We need to move to the edge of the forest closet to the water source said Achelous.

I don’t think that is water Achelous spoke Ron.

Yes, it is water; it is so cold that it don’t retain it solid form anymore Achelous Laughed This river pours directly into the Sea of Lost souls on the planet Teek. This cold water helps to keep the planet at a nice cool temperature otherwise with as close as it is to its sun everything would burn up.

Wow, I didn’t know that was even possible for a planet to have life on it that close to it sun Ron said inquisitively.

Ron, there are a great deal of things in just this galaxy alone that would just blow your mind said Achelous with a grin.

With that being said everyone started to work on clearing the trees they needed from the forest. Ron and Achelous were using there magic to knock the trees over while the other two where using there axes they got from the last planet. The three had a good pile of timber in no time now everyone needed to help carry the logs down to the river where Achelous put some magic rope on both ends of the logs. Ron and Jeffrow held onto one end of the rope while Achelous hung on to the other. When each log was pulled out of the water the log was a quarter of the size it was before they put it in but it was still just as heavy as it was before they put it in. Once they were done with all the logs they cut the three realized that they had no where near enough wood to build them a ship!

This is going to take a while isn’t it Achelous spoke Ron in a weary voice.

Yes, it is going to take about one to three months to complete this ship said Achelous It just depends on how much the black magic users bother us.

What are we going to do with all the wood that we just shrank" asked Lillanium.

I have already placed a protection spell on it; that those three clowns could never break said Achelous with a thunderous laugh.

So are we going back to your place to have diner and sleep asked Lillanium with the look of hope in her eyes.

I am not sleeping out here it gets way too cold at night said Achelous with a shutter We are going back to my place so lets get walkin’.

As they walked back to the portal rock they got ambushed by Kinon and the twins. Kinon and the twins were trying to cast a binding spell on Achelous but could not bind him because he was too strong for them. They got furious so Kinon tried something totally different.

Nex ut four pro mihi shouted Kinon with a bolt of lightning coming out of his hand then branching off into four beams.

Achelous ran as fast as he could and grabbed up the three and ran into the woods with them. The Bolts of lightning hit the ground where the four friends had stood. This caused Kinon and the twins to become very upset. So they ran into the woods after them in hopes of destroying them for there lord and master.

When Achelous thought he got far enough away he put the three down and hid behind a huge rock that was big enough to not show the four of them or if Achelous stood up he wouldn’t be seen. Achelous was breathing really heavy at this point and the three just stared at each other for a while. They were so startled by the attack they just needed time to calm down and relax. Ron was the first of the three to come back to his senses.

That was a death spell that they tried putting on all four of use wasn’t it asked Ron still shaking a little from what had transpired.

Yes Ron, they did try to kill us with a spell said Achelous calmly This has just changed our game plan we need to get them off this piece of dirt I call home so we can continue with what we are doing. I also don’t think they realize the consequences if they had killed us.

What do you mean by consequences asked Ron.

They would be in great pain for a long time for killing four beings of intellect replied Achelous The also would remain in pain because the Galactic Counsel would make sure of it, for killing its guardians. The fact that anything could kill us would be interesting considering that we are immortal!

So what you are telling me that these creatures are just playing stupid for what they have tried to do with there ambush exclaimed Ron Is there anyway we can arrest them and send them to the Galactic jail?

We as White Wizards don’t have the power to make that determination, but there are a few beings besides the Galactic Counsel who can stated Achelous Here is the worst part none of them are on this little rock.

So what can we do Ron asked in frustration.

We can battle them and hope that by some chance we can get rid of them without having to kill them answered Achelous.

I thought we as White Wizards could not use magic to kill another being Ron stated a little unsure of himself.

That is true and not true at the sametime; depends on the situation but we are aloud to use weapons to kill if necessary Achelous whispered We need to get back to the Rock without being detected by those three yahoos! You three follow me we are going to flank them to the left trying to stay out of there field of vision.

They all followed Achelous and they did not see nor did the Kinon or the twins spot them. Achelous and the three made it back to the rock without incident touched it and entered into the under ground home. Achelous fixed dinner really quick and everyone ate in silence. When Achelous was done with his plate and this was the first time he was done before anyone else he spoke.

What happened today will be apart of your existence as long as you are one of the three sighed Achelous Even after you retire and are sent to a place where you can find peace you may have to deal with the occasional little skirmish, it is what helps you to realize that you are still alive! Don’t worry yourselves about the events that had transpired today I want you all after you are done to go to bed and get a good nights rest because you are going to need it.

With that being said Achelous got up and went to the kitchen washed his plate off and waited in his room for the three to go to bed so that he could contact Rich again. Ron, Jeffrow, and Lillanium ate kind of slow that night. When they were all done Lillanium picked up all their dishes and took them to the kitchen and washed them off. Ron and Jeffrow went to their rooms and where fast asleep by the time Lillanium was done rinsing off the dishes. Lillanium blew out all the candles starting with the one farthest from her room and going into her room. She was asleep as soon as her little head touched the pillow.

Once Achelous was satisfied that the three were in bed asleep he went to the wall that had the communication device behind it. It opened it up once again pushed the same button as before and waited for a reply. The screen turned on and Rich was on the screen again.

What is it now my old friend asked Rich.

We got ambushed earlier by the three black magic users that came through the portal after Ron and them did stated Achelous.

So, what did they do asked Rich concerned for all of those that were involved.

They tried to bind my magic and when that didn’t work they tried to kill all four of us with a spell answered Achelous.

Is every one of you okay Rich asked again with more of a concerned look on his face.

We are all fine just a little shaken chuckled Achelous I am just glade that sorcerer cannot hit a moving target!

Okay, Achelous just keep me posted on the situation Rich stated then the screen went black once more.

Achelous got up closed up the wall then made sure all the candles were out. Then he slowly walked to bed. Once he lay down for about five minutes he was out. The next morning came early for them. Every one was hurting from everything that they had done the day before. They were more upset then in shock from the incident that happened on there way back to Achelous home the night before.

How them ther’ Fellers get the drop on us ask Jeffrow puzzled All the bat’l and war I been in nev’r let something get’en that close to harm’in me or my Fellers, can usually smell them com’in!

Don’t let it get you down Jeffrow said Achelous I have been doing this longer then you have been alive and I should have known something was out of place. I am thinking because we were all tired and wanted to get something to eat and go to sleep that we lost the awareness of our surroundings. I am sure we all will be more vigilant from now on.

Achelous is right everyone we don’t need to let this get us…. Shut up Ron everyone said at once.

Ron just sat back down and ate the rest of his breakfast and didn’t say another word for a while. Once everyone was done eating and clean up was completed they all went back up to the surface once more ready for what ever might be waiting for them on the other side of the portal. When everyone reappeared on top there was not welcoming party for them. They did hear yelling and screaming of the creatures that tried to kill them last night still searching the woods for them.

I figured they would have figured out that we went through the portal once again said Ron.

Achelous started to laugh then said I throw them off our track last night by hiding our tracks and by making it look like we all split up into different areas. That should keep them busy for a while.
