About this ebook
Churches the world over are claiming to embrace Christianity while they embrace the world with a consuming passion. Biblical wickedness is at astounding levels and being embraced by the professing church. A religion which denies that Jesus is the Christ is rising on the world scene like a raging inferno. The cries of our slain unborn are crying out to God like the blood of righteous Able. Armies are massing around the borders of Israel. The world is embracing a doctrine of "Every man has a right to do what is right in their own eyes". Mothers are killing their own children leaving the natural affection of motherhood. Persecution against the church is on the rise. Are we in the last days spoken of by our Lord Jesus Christ? The love of many has grown cold toward God but immorality in the church is fueling the flames of sin. We must be about our Fathers business and trim the wicks so that we can witness, live and preach in the power of the Holy Spirit in these trying times. This book is an appeal to the Christian. It is laying bare the truth that we are at the midnight hour. It is not an explanation of the Book of Revelation. It is an exhortation to turn to Christ with all of our hearts that we may be found in him with our whole heart.
I hope you get the blessing and exhortation in Christ that is the driving force behind this book. It was my fingers that typed but it is Gods burden, The Holy Ghost guidance and the Lord Jesus Christ love that compelled me to write. May God bless you abundantly in the Spirit of Christ as you read.
In Christ wonderful and everlasting service,

I am an ordained minister of the Lord Jesus Christ and have been in the ministry for the last twenty three years. I was saved on the morning of January 17th, 1982 in Trinity Baptist Church in Asheville NC. The story of how God convicted me of my sins and brought me to the point of accepting Jesus Christ as both Lord and Savior is a worthy story in itself but I will not go into that here. I began my ministry by going to nursing homes and preaching on the street at the bus turnaround in Asheville. God let me see many souls saved. I went from there to jails and prisons ministering the Gospel. I consider myself extremely blessed. God has allowed me to be instrumental in starting a successful church here in North Carolina. I have served as choir director, associate pastor and as pastor. I received a Masters in Theology from a “Through the mail” college while pasturing. I could not walk across the stage and receive my diploma because I was preaching a funeral when the ceremony was taking place. That has never been important to me anyway. My desire is to see souls saved and lives rescued. My entire ministry has not been successful. I have failed God more times than I care to remember but I thank God that he will not let go of his own. I have had to learn the hard way I suppose that not only is the power to save in the hands of God who is so capable but the responsibility to keep is also in his loving hands. I think that is enough about me. Let me tell you about this book. I see people struggling with peer pressure and societies soul grinding guilt to live pleasing to the world. I want to be an example in a generation where so many are departing from the faith. I want to be a Christian even before being a minister that people can look at and see Jesus Christ in me in the midst of a sinful generation. I want to be faithful when Jesus calls his church. I want my lamp trimmed and filled with lots of fuel. Too many times we hide the light of Christ in the church where the light can only be seen by those in the Church. May God help us to be filled with his Holy Spirit and be a light before a lost and dying world? May God grant us to use the godly talents and gifts we have in a time when using these talents and gifts are not popular? The books stores are full of books explaining about the Great Tribulation. It is not what is going to happen after the rapture that is important to me. It is what is happening now in these last days.

DEDICATION
I dedicate this work to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is my hope, my help and my strength in this world and my life in the world to come. I am a failure in every thing I attempt without him at the helm in my life. If you do not know him I pray that as you read this, the Holy Spirit will open your eyes to his great and sacrificial love. If you reject him, you have rejected life itself.
I would also like to dedicate this work to my wife, Ginger and to all of my children I do not know how I would be able to accomplish anything without my wife. She is my proof reader. She does a lot of things I should be doing and gives me the time I need to write. She feeds me some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life. She loves me through my mood swings when I am trying to come up with the right thing to say. She caters to my ego and my whims. She is unbelievable. I have one son who is my loving critic. He keeps me straight about including references and grammar corrections. What would I do without them both? I thank God for all of my children. I have five children in all. They are all grown and have lives of their own. I am so blessed of God.
INTRODUCTION
I know a lot of people will want to know who I am. I am just a sinner saved by the grace of God. I have made mistakes. I have failed more than I want to mention. God has been gracious to me so many times that I cannot number them. I do not like to use the term reverend but I am told that I must for the books sake. I ask your forbearance and forgiveness. This is all you will hear of me in this book. I want you to know Jesus Christ in the fullest walk you can experience in the power of the Holy Spirit. I am not worthy of his precious grace but He bestowed it upon me anyway. Jesus is truly Lord.
This is first of all, not a book on prophecy. It is a book on why I believe we are in the last days spoken of by our Lord Jesus Christ. I am not trying to explain the beast and false prophet of Revelation. There are books galore about those. Actually, the child of God will not see the events after chapter four of Revelation unless God lets them view it from the portals of glory. I don’t think that will happen because there will be no pain enter that glorious land of eternal peace and joy. It would be inconsistent with God’s love for church members to see their family turn and accept the mark of the beast. No, when we leave this world, I believe the only thing we will be interested in is worship and praise before the throne of God and the Lamb. I believe we will know those who are saved that we knew on earth. I don’t think we will know those who died without Christ and lost.
Isa. 65:17; For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Those who are in the first resurrection will come back with the Lord Jesus Christ in a glorified body. The big thing for God’s children is to make sure our eyes are open to the events that are immediately before those days. When Jesus comes for the church, are our lamps burning (Matthew 25:1-13)? This book is a work to try to impress upon you the reader that we are in the days of the apostate church. I am not a date setter. Only God the Father knows the day and the hour when Jesus will return to take the church to the home he has been preparing for two thousand years. Do you not get excited when you think about what Jesus has gone to prepare for those who believe on him and are trusting God’s grace? This book is an attempt to impress upon you the reader that we need to be about our Father’s business and to have our lamps trimmed and burning because the midnight cry is at hand.
Earthquakes are killing untold numbers of people the world over in recent years, massive storm fronts with hundreds of tornadoes are occurring frequently. Multiple mudslides are burying entire villages in the last few years. Hurricanes of massive proportions are occurring in America. A Tsunami that left the entire world reeling from its fury has occurred just recently in the pacific. Wars and rumors of wars from the giants like America to minor nations unknown to most are filling the news. There are dozens of other minor wars that happen in the world and get no news coverage at all. Nations that are ruled by religious tyrants and who hate Christianity and Jews are in a contest to see which one can come up with nuclear weapons first. The nations are playing political games with maybe millions of lives in the balance pretending that these things are not happening. Armies are massing against Israel. People are mocking at the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The world is embracing humanism. People are convinced that man himself without God is the source of deliverance from the massive assault of confusion that is gripping the world. You must realize that God is not the author of confusion
(1 Cor. 14:33). The world is looking for a leader who can bring peace and unity without war to a troubled and diverse planet filled with people as diverse as the cultures they live in. This all leaves the believers of Christ reeling with an onslaught of information that is backed up by Bible prophecy.
I have noticed that when I try to witness to people about Christ, there is an oppressiveness that seems to get worse every year. People who have heard the Gospel openly mock you for trying to warn others of their great need for salvation. Many times the attacks against witnessing and spreading the Gospel are from within the church. The consensus is to not say anything since they have a right
to live their lives the way they want to. In essence we are told to crawl into a hole called the church building
and be ashamed of being a Christian in public. Are we living in the times Jesus called the last days? I believe we are and I believe the time is short for the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ for his church. Occasionally I see a beautiful cloud in the sky and wonder with anticipation, will it be one like this that my Lord comes on to call me away or maybe even this one. I can only pray that my loved ones, my friends and those I have preached the Gospel to
