M. J. Darby grew up in a large family in rural South Louisiana. Her love of literature, especially classic fairy tales and fantasy, since childhood has been an inspiration for several works of fiction including “The Sugar Mill Calls”, which is a nostalgic collection of her favorite poems. Ms. Darby has worked with children for more than three decades in the field of education. She earned her English Education degree from Northeastern University in Oklahoma and is currently working on her graduate degree in English at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She plans to graduate with a concentration in Rhetoric and Composition.
