About this ebook

A few years ago I suffered from depression, and I started keeping a journal of my feelings. Later I put my thoughts on paper in the form of poetry. It was if the Lord was speaking to my heart to let go and let Him handle everything. The first poem I wrote was the Glory Of God. Soon I realize that everything I went through was not about me, but Him. Yes, without Him I would be nothing. Truly the gifts and talents I have are from Him to be use for Him only. I praise God that He found favor in me to share such wisdom and knowledge. Truly it is not me, but Him and for Him I am stepping out on faith.

Not Me, but Him - Georgia Stoker

    BORN TO INSPIRE

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure

    Philippians 2:13 KJV

The late great Will Rogers was famous for the quote I never met a man I didn’t like. These are the words I would use if I have to describe the character of my friend and co-worker William Kirk. William passed away earlier this year. A great lost to all of us, which worked with him. He was the type of person that always had time to help or give moral support, wherever or whenever needed. Truly, a friend and brother to all those he met. William could talk, minister and relate to anyone. Which reminded me a lot of the apostle Paul.

Now, Paul the apostle became whatever was necessary to get others to listen to the word (1Corinthains 9: 19-23). Paul approach and reasoned with people on their level and treated all men the same. William was that sort of man, as a son, minister, husband, father, brother and friend, an inspiration to all that knew him. A few months before William died he asked me had I done anything with my poetry. He said you needed to try and get them published and share them with others. I later learn that he himself had some works published. Yes, he even had written a play about a small area in East Texas called Bear Bottom. I felt inspired and honored that he took time to tell me how much he enjoyed my writings, and I thank God for his encouragement.

God wants us to be an inspiration to each other with words of encouragement. We are here to compliment each other through the good time as well as the bad. Yes, all we do need to reflect Jesus in our lives. William’s wife, Sandra said, he would always say that all he had accomplished was through and for Jesus, and without Him he would be nothing. She continues to minister at a local church where William was the pastor. May God bless and keep her and the children as they continue on to pastor and minister to others.

    CIRCLE OF LIFE

We’re all God’s children of generations past

These earthly bodies weren’t meant to last.

We make our entrance into this world as newborn babes.

We’re unaware of the meaning of life or earthly ways.

Yet, while minute’s turn into hours then months into years.

As we grow we experience laughter, love, hurt, and tears.

Our step grows slower with having difficulty to stand.

Our roles in life reverses it is our child leading us by the hand.

The circle of life is not limited to or just for a selected few.

There is a designated time when all must journey through.

There are two roads to travel the narrow or the wide.

Everyone is given a free and open invitation to choose and decide.

When this life is over there is a prepared place for everyone.

Yes, one for those who said no, and one for the others, that believed Jesus is God’s son.

    LEAD ME LORD

The Lord is my Shepard; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restorteth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:1-6 KJV

Stepping out into new a task can be a difficult thing to do. Yes, a lot of praying and seeking the Lord for His guidance is always needed before we are to make a move. Sometime the answer is plain as the noses on your face. While other times it may seem like an answer is hidden and nowhere to be found. It’s has always been difficult for me to express myself to others. Yes, I would shy away from confrontations or any other thing where I had to make a decision. Stepping out on faith has to start somewhere be it a small a skip, or a giant leap. Yes, all it takes is faith, courage and endurance for the task ahead.

Yet, so many have given up their dreams, because their expected outcome was not as he or she thought they it should be. In the end all we need is to realize God is in control of it all (Psalm 90:2). Truly, He will order every step we will take if we put it in His hands (Palm 40:1). God wants us to obtain happiness while we are here on this earth awaiting to be called into rest.

Truthfully, we are to seek His desires for us, and not only for ourselves. Yes, we need to seek for the glory of Him and what is pleasing in His sight. I stepped out on faith to write this book; truly I believe it is not about me. It is what the Lord has put on my heart to do. Just like Jesus I must be about doing my Father’s will (Luke 2: 49). Yes, I am one of the many that proclaim how good God is. Whereas, everyday I thank God for Jesus, and for Him being the first to step out on faith for you and me. Yes, setting the standard for the ultimate stepping out on faith forever by dying on the cross for both you and me.

    STEPPING OUT

There are times we will all have to step out on faith.

Yes, to seek the Lord face and let him set pace.

He said knock and the door shall be open.

Truly, everything He can give to us that we’re hoping.

Yet, we must seek first the kingdom of God and

    baste in His love.

Yes, He will give charge for our protection with

    the angels from above.

Still, in everything seek Him first before anyone else.

Don’t wait and ponder as if you have no hope left.

Yes, to stand in warmth of the Lords presence.

Faithfully, depending on His teachings and lessons.

Still, we ask the Lord to guide from the midst of all harm.

Truly, the Lord is able to sustain us with his mighty arm.

Our Lord loves and protects our life like nobody.

Because in His presence you are a special somebody

    THE NEW BEGINNING

But by grace of God I am what I am…1 Corinthian15: 10 KJV

God has brought me so far and through so many things I just have to tell everyone. I suffered from depression a few years ago and it was a rough road to travel. So, I began to keep a journal of my feelings, and struggles, which later I started to, express myself through my poetry of inspiration to me. As I reviewed some of my poems I noticed that some of them reflected not only what was going on in my life at that time, but would later come to pass. It was if God knew my needs before they could present themselves.

Next, I joined a poetry club on the Internet and before I knew it I was getting some very positive feedback. I meet and communicated with some wonderful people who had a lot to say themselves. Suddenly, people were interested in what I had
