Chapter one
The Beginning of a New Season
It has been a beautiful Tuesday in Darrow Louisiana, a camp meeting of Dr. Leroy Thompson. Goodness! I just look at the clock and the time is 12:24 AM. It’s a new day Wednesday, August 14, 2002.
How did I get to Darrow Louisiana is a miracle. The computer I am using is a bigger miracle. I simply learned the power of faith, and laughing in advance of a miracle.
Well I had been in the United States, just over eighteen months prior to this time. I suffered the single greatest blow in my life; the most beautiful woman God had given to me went home to be with him. (Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints).
It was a terrible experience for me, almost two years of real difficulties had just ended and the Lord had miraculously ushered me in the beginning of a new season in my life.
I flew to New York City from Guyana South America in the month of February; I was crushed, heavy laden and beaten down. My major purpose was to complete a bachelor degree in Theology, but I found myself praying a strange prayer, Lord, please allow me to meet divine appointment and to fulfill divine purpose and destiny, help me to make divine connections
.
Why this kind of prayer? I questioned myself shaking my head in awe. I guess the Holy Spirit was responsible for giving birth to this new level of prayer.
Well, sure God did some extraordinary things. The first was, I miraculously came into contact with a wonderful woman of God her name was Geniver who invited me to the Junita Binnum 5:00AM prayer meeting.
I was excited for the opportunity and for a time of refreshing, and refreshed I was. It was an awesome experience to see thousands gathered for prayers and the glory of the Lord present in the house.
Once revived, the Holy Spirit began to nag on my heart for a revival among a group of Pastors in the Metropolitan area. I began to plan and pray, but God was dealing with this group while preparing me.
One Sunday afternoon, I got a call that this group was meeting on the Cat’s kill mountain and I was invited to do a seminar, sure it was a welcome idea since the Lord was dealing with me on this issue.
The theme of the gathering was Building Meaningful Relationships
. I ministered on how to build relationships and on Ministerial burn out.
The Holy Spirit showed up in this presentation and began networking me with many of these Pastors. It was like a David Jonathan like situation.
And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David.
(1 Sam 18:1a KJV)
The next few months ahead, doors of ministry began to open. I ministered from city to city, and had more preaching assignments than I could have comfortably handled.
Even though I have not met some of these Pastors prior to the Seminar, there was a camaraderie that was heavenly.
I was scheduled to attend an International Ministerial Congress of The Church of God (7th Day) in Houston Texas, but was calling and conversing with what will turn out to be one of the most wonderful couple I would have met to date, Pastor and Sister Randolph.
I arrived in Houston and interestingly enough instead of heading to the Sheraton Hotel, the venue of the Congress, I sent my luggage along, and I headed to the Praise Christian Center world outreach Ministry.
I met Sister Pamela On her visit to Guyana and listened to Pastor Randolph on audio cassettes. I was impressed by the simplicity of his teaching style, his humors but unmistakenly, the profound nuggets that flow from this awesome man of God.
Instantly, I began learning lessons after lessons from conversing and fellowshiping with this anointed couple.
I began to talk to them about the books that were in my spirit and admired the wonderful books that were written by them both.
I inquired about the success of their Ministry and it was attributed to family unity and a spiritual dad, also a good team spirit at Praise Christian Center. I received an awakening at the thought of a ‘Spiritual Father’. I also realized at that moment that there was a lack in my own life.
A spiritual father to many is one that speaks into their Ministry, look out for their soul, provide covering and mentorship, and literally help to mould and shape their Ministry, in other words one that takes you to the next level.
The week I spent at the International Ministerial Congress of The Church of God (7th Day) was overwhelming. One needs to experience it personally to understand. Imagine being in an hotel with pastors from thirty different nations, hearing several languages and dialects, meeting persons of a different language, but feeling a spiritual connection and vibration that is unexplainable.
This meeting also allows the opportunity to
