Tara Shenéa Gause
Tara Shenéa Gause (pronounced Shuh’nay) was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey and now resides in suburban Atlanta, Georgia. She is currently an upperclassman at Georgia State University completing a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. In her youth, Tara Shenéa was a consistent honor student who excelled in all required areas of study but was overly fond of English-related subject matter. By the tender age of 12-years-old, she was already a two-time spelling bee winner and had received awards and recognition from the Board of Education and the Mayor of the City of Paterson for winning first place in an all-inclusive school district essay competition on “How to Say No to Drugs.” Gause expanded her writing career as a professional singer and songwriter at the age of 19 as a member of a female R&B group while living in New Jersey. The group relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 1997 to gain exposure and further their career opportunities and officially disbanded in 2001. Tara Shenéa then focused her writing talent on the bustling spoken word poetry scene in the Atlanta area and began writing and performing full-time in the Southeastern corner of the United States. Her love and sincere interest for poetry flourished and strengthened as she spent the following years researching and studying poetry from classic and contemporary American poets, the Harlem Renaissance, the Beat Generation, the Black Arts Movement and American and International form styles of poetry. Her poetic contributions have been recognized, praised, and awarded by online writing communities such as: The Underground Poet’s Society, Inc., the Writer’s Café and also by the Discovery Channel’s Planet Green. Gause is currently working on her first spoken word CD and her second volume of poetry for the Goddyssey Museum of Poetry.

A Word from the Curator
Greetings, I am the curator Poetic Goddess Tara Shenéa, and firstly I would like to say – Welcome to the Goddyssey Museum of Poetry and thank you for reading my artistry. Why a museum you ask? Well, museums are structures that house and display invaluable works of art created by artists of every country and from all walks of life. I thought it to be fitting for I proclaim myself to be a poetic artist as I do much more than just write poetry – I create. I like to generate works that are artistic, stimulating, insightful and pleasing to all of the senses. The Goddyssey Museum of Poetry is the realm in which I express, confess, and display my artistry. The artwork within manifested from either personal feelings or thoughts, inspiration from external sources, other people’s experiences or simply via imagination.
As you tour through the corridors of creativity you will be exposed to secured vaults in my soul’s poetic sanctuary. Where within, lay lyrical passageways that can only be opened by my inked scepter. It is here where I express in a poem or poetic short story. This volume is my first collection of writings being released to the public in book form. I have shared my gift with you to honor Him from whom all blessings flow. Each scribe on display in the museum is near and dear to my heart. I liken them as my lyrical children. In being their birth mother, I love and favor all of them equally.
Please be sure to take away a feeling of inspiration, a laugh, a smile, faith-filled strength, a new perspective, profound knowledge and so much more. All are harbored within these walls. All artwork on display manifested between 2003 through 2009.
Again, thank you for reading at Goddyssey. You are a most welcome guest.
Follow me please…

I am… the giving tree to the people from seed to stump
I am… an oracle, a muse illuminating de facto and de jure’s rump
I am… the megaphone on the soapbox empowering the enslaved
I am… Moses on Mount Sinai manifesting tablets engraved
I am… the roar of the elephant in the room that all ignore
I am… the riptide of enlightenment invading your mental shores
– I am a Poet
