Peace, Patriotism and War
()
About this ebook
This book Peace Patriotism And War contains poems which this author wrote during the period from September 11, 2001, to the present Iraq War. Also included are poems about Terrorism and Osama Bin-Laden. Included in these three chapters are poems expressing the authors opinion of Peace, that America stands for, the United States Military and how America perceives war. The mindboggling scenes of Protesters, Disrespect for the American Flag, the United States Military, other Leaders and Allies are written here. Disrespect for the President, of the United States, Commander-in-Chief, led this author to write and speak out from his Patriotic Heart. As a WW II Veteran, its hard to believe, that there is abuse in this Land of Opportunity and misconceptions of the word FREEDOM and PEACE. It is my humble opinion, written here, to stand up for America.

Frank A. Pellegrino was born June 10, 1922 in Niagara Falls, New York. His parents were born in Italy and came to the United States in the early 1900’s. He attended the St. Joseph Elementary School in Niagara Falls. In the 5th Grade, is where he learned to write poetry, a teaching that stayed with him all his life. After he left High School, he enlisted with the United States Regular Army, at age eighteen. Serving in W.W. II, he was in Iceland, France and England overseas. After 4 and half years of active duty, he returned to Niagara Falls. June 1, 1958, he married, Theresa Angellotti, from Oneonta, New York (now deceased) and they were married 33 years. He had been employed with the New York State Parks Commission for 25 years. To-date he has been retired for 20 years. After her death, he decided to make use of all his skills and hobbies. This way he could fill the void in his life. His hobbies are gardening, writing, classical music, sports and cooking. He is a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the DAV, AARP, and CSEA. Frank has received many awards from the International Library of Poetry and one Beautification Award for his flower gardens in Niagara Falls. He has numerous poems published in Books of Anthologies with the International Library of Poetry to-date. April 27, 2001, Frank married his friend from Bloomington, Indiana, Alice Ann Davidson-Gilmore and they live a quiet, retired life in Niagara Falls, New York. Frank’s goal as a writer is not only to fill the empty void that was in his life, but, life itself inspires him. God’s power and creations and all life surroundings, give him strength and hope for all his tomorrows.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
FOREWARD
As a WW II Veteran, I felt compelled to write tributes
To our men and women in uniforms. I write from my
Heart and with a true love of Patriotism.
CHAPTER I
AMERICA BELIEVES IN PEACE
GOD BLESS AMERICA, FOREVER
Lets look down the road a piece,
Are we trying hard, for a just peace?
We cannot win wars half-way,
We would have to do it again, another day.
Iraq’s dictator and murderer, Hussein,
Is one of many dictators, who are insane.
When this brutal war is over,
Peoples minds, will be sober.
We hope this war did teach,
The whole world, love and peace.
America has always fought to be free,
United, we stand, we all agree.
With all the wars and pain,
Our brave troops, did not die in vain.
We do everything in our power, to make things legal,
America’s symbol is the bald eagle.
It means strength, peace, love, and more,
We pray for them, to God above, which we adore,
If the warrior leaders, step on our toes,
I’ll guarantee, they will get more, than a bloody nose.
DON’T CHALLENGE THE U.S.A.
I enlisted in the Army, because I wanted to,
To defend my country, for me and you.
If a country, shows aggression,
We will teach them a lesson.
We didn’t ask for America’s New War,
We will fight, but not ignore.
The dark evil day of the 11th of September,
A nightmare, we will always remember.
We will overcome, the evils of the terrorists,
We’ll conquer them, until none exists.
You can’t beat us with violence,
Don’t underestimate us, because of our silence.
Action, and silence is our way of trickery,
That ends all our wars, in total victory.
You can choose death,
Or give up, and save your breath.
I wish I could meet, Bin-Laden at a meeting,
I’d give him a near, death beating.
I’d beat him up, good and proper,
They’d have to pick him up, with an eye dropper.
AMERICA RESPECT OUR FLAG
To be an American, I am boastfully proud,
I will speak to the world, good and loud.
I have confidence, I have strong beliefs,
In our young President, our Commander-in-Chief.
Have Faith, and no doubts in our troops,
Our strong young men come from strong roots.
I believe in what the American Flag stands for,
Americans should defend it, especially in time of war.
We’re Americans, no matter what our religion,
And we stand for Peace, Justice, and Freedom.
In time of war, I won’t have to be hauled,
If I am chosen to be called.
I know, I will be respected,
Defending my country, as expected.
I think of people, who disrespectfully protest,
As equal to the lowest species of insects.
The blood sucking leach,
Sing loudly, about free speech.
Then use it as a crutch or excuse,
Carrying it too far, is bad abuse.
‘God Bless’ all our troops over there,
Bless our well wishers and Allies everywhere.
God bring our troops home to stay,
God Bless Always the U.S.A.
LAND OF THE FREE
If we are the people of the ‘Land of the Free’,
Put the ‘Ten Commandments’ in every school, in the country.
Place our United States Amendments next to it,
No one should complain, no one will be hurt a bit.
Once children are taught, they will go by those rules,
And, I’m sure, they will behave better in schools.
There will be a lot less crime,
Because crimes, mean jail time.
As we know, crime does not pay,
The Commandments will help, mend their ways.
Don’t blame crime on poverty,
If you steal someones property.
One Amendment says, Freedom of Religion, for all,
What they mean is, freedom ‘from religion’, call.
Crimes are committed more and more,
Liberals help the crimes to soar.
The more that crimes, rock and roll,
The bigger the chance, of losing your soul.
God help those, who think Commandments are lies,
Because, he has a lot to answer, when he dies.
A SPECIAL VETERAN’S DAY
This November is Veteran’s Day,
Let’s take a moment to pray.
For our Heroes, who lay in the graves,
They are the ones, whose life they gave.
Sailed over the rough, green sea,
To preserve our right to be FREE.
They are always ready to leave,
To die, for what we believe.
In America, where I was born,
I was proud to wear our uniform.
We are a nation ‘UNDER GOD’,
And, we are darned proud.
When our nation is threatened with nukes,
The world will be protected by our troops.
‘GOD BLESS’ our Troops, and our President,
Our towns, cities, and all residents.
Be proud of all our ‘VETERANS’,
Our red-blooded Americans.
We owe them a debt,
We shall never forget.
America’s flag of Red, White, and Blue,
‘May God protect and Bless you’.
Let us not, let our feet drag,
On VETERAN’S DAY, proudly display our FLAG.
I’M A PROUD AMERICAN
When I was a little guy,
Often I’d suck my thumb and cry.
I didn’t want to go to bed,
I wanted to play instead.
I liked my peanut butter and jelly,
I ate and ate till I filled my little belly.
Later, I went to high school,
I wasn’t a drop out fool.
My brain didn’t go on vacation,
Because I got a complete education.
I got a job, worked like a horse,
Later, I enlisted in the Air-Force.
I was happy, I was proud,
Flying through the skies and clouds.
I know you’ll never get bored,
If you fight war after war.
We’re proud to fight for our nation,
God’s beautiful art of creation.
I came back home to stay,
Just in time for Memorial Day.
AMERICA THE GREATEST
If all wars would suddenly cease,
We could sleep, in heavenly peace.
Destroy, all military equipment, piece by piece,
Then peace, around the world, would increase.
After a number, of agreements and dealings,
It will take a long time, in healing.
We have the power, to destroy anything,
From Europe to Beijing.
Power, we don’t lack,
To avenge, an attack.
We have super power, in the air,
On the ground, sea, every where.
If every American, really cares,
They will contribute, their share.
I’m proud of,
