EMPTY BED
I WORKED THROUGH ANOTHER GRUELING NIGHT
GOT HOME AND TURNED ON THE LIGHT
I OPENED THE FREEZER AND MICROWAVED MY FOOD
WHICH, QUITE FRANKLY, WASN’T THAT GOOD
I SAT IN MY LIVING ROOM, PUT ON THE T.V.
INFOMERCIALS WERE ALL THAT I COULD SEE
I GOT UP AND GRABBED A DRINK
I DRANK UNTIL I COULDN’T THINK
I WENT INTO THE BEDROOM
AND LOOKED AT MY EMPTY BED
I WANTED TO FALL ASLEEP FAST
WHEN THOUGHTS OF YOU FILLED MY HEAD
YOU WOULD BE ASLEEP WHEN I GOT HOME
YOU WOULD AWAKE AND SMILE AT ME
I WOULD LOOK IN YOUR EYES, FALL IN LOVE AGAIN
BEING THERE WITH YOU WAS THE ONLY PLACE TO BE
I WOULD LIE WITH YOU IN MY ARMS
AND THE FEELING FELT SO RIGHT
WE WOULD LAUGH AND KISS
AND THEN SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT
IN THE MORNING I WOULD AWAKE
AND MY FIRST VISION WAS YOU
I WOULD LEAN AND KISS YOUR CHEEK
I KNEW THAT OUR LOVE WAS TRUE
YOU WOULD AWAKE FOR WORK
I KNEW WHAT YOU WOULD SAY
I DIDN’T WANT YOU TO GO
I WANTED TO HOLD YOU ALL DAY
EVERY DAY BEFORE YOU LEFT
I WOULD MASSAGE YOUR NECK AND FEET
THEN YOU LEFT, I WENT OFF TO WORK
AND AT NIGHT, OUR LOVE WOULD REPEAT
THEN THAT NIGHT, I WAS IN A MEETING
I GOT THE WORST CALL OF MY LIFE
THEY SAID IT WAS A DRUNK DRIVER
AND THAT I HAD LOST MY WIFE
I SAT AND CRIED FOR EVERY HOUR
MAKING IT THIS FAR TAKES ALL MY POWER
NOW I STAND AND LOOK AT THIS EMPTY BED
ASKING GOD TO BRING YOU BACK FROM THE DEAD
AS I CLIMB INTO BED, IT FEELS SO COLD
EVERY NIGHT I FEEL SO ALONE
SOMETIMES, I CRY MYSELF TO SLEEP
I MISS YOU WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BONE
I CLOSE MY EYES, TURN OFF THE LIGHT
KNOWING THAT IT WILL BE A SLEEPLESS NIGHT
I THINK ABOUT THE LIFE WE COULD OF LED
AS I LIE THERE IN THAT COLD, EMPTY BED
CHRISTMAS

I ROB FROM THE RICH, GIVE TO THE POOR
JUST LIKE EVERY NOBLE MAN SHOULD
SO I SAY TO ALL THE COUNTRYMEN
COME ON AND JOIN WITH ME
LET US SET THIS KINDOM FREE
FROM PRINCE JOHNS TYRANNY
I HAVE WILL SCARLET, LITTLE JOHN
AND FRIAR TUCK TOO
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY NOBLE MEN
I REALLY NEED YOU
THE MORE THE MERRIER, THAT’S WHAT I SAY
WITH US, KING RICHARD WILL RETURN SOME DAY
IF YOU THINK YOU CAN ROB THE RICHEST AND GIVE TO THE POOREST
THEN COME AND MEET THE MERRY MEN DOWN IN SHERWOOD FOREST
THE JONES POEM
THE ARCHEOLOGIST WITH A BRAIN
THE ONE WHO GETS ALL THE DAMES
YOU CAN’T DENY IT, HE’S THE BEST
BETTER THAN BELLOQ OR ALL THE REST
HIS FATHER IS SMART AND SO IS HE
HE’S THE BEST ARCHEOLOGIST HE CAN BE
HIS FRIENDS ARE SALLAH AND MARCUS BRODY
HIS ENEMIES ARE THE DREADED NAZIS
HE LOOKS FOR OLD RELECKS
THROUGH SKELETONS AND BONES
WHO IS THIS ARCHEOLOGIST?
WHY IT’S INDIANA JONES
ELSA, MARION, WILLIE SCOTT
ALL THESE GIRLS THOUGHT INDY WAS HOT
BELLOQ, DONOVAN, MOLA RAM
ALL THESE MEN ARE WHO INDY FOUGHT
LAST STAND
THE MOON WAS SHINING ABOVE
AS THE KILLER PUT ON HIS LATEX GLOVE
HE PULLED OUT HIS GLEAMING KNIFE
AND KILLED HIS CLIENTS WIFE
THE MONEY WAS DELIVERED THE NEXT DAY
THE KILLER WAS SURE HE GOT AWAY
THE HUSBAND CONFESSED AFTER AN HOUR
SUDDENLY THE DEAL STARTED TO GO SOUR
THE COPS ARRIVED AT THE KILLERS’ PLACE
HE PULLED OUT A SHOTGUN FROM ITS CASE
HE OPENED FIRE ON THE POLICE
YELLING THAT HE WASN’T GOING IN PEACE
AFTER A SIX HOUR STAND
A FATAL BULLET DID LAND
IT GOT THE KILLER IN THE HEAD
AND
