Turn Your Blogs and Talks Into Books - Gini Graham Scott Ph.D.
INTRODUCTION
Why Have a Book
Why turn your blog or talk into a book? Because you can use a book, along with your blog, to further promote yourself, your company, and your brand. Today, almost everyone in business has a website or at least a profile or landing page to have an online presence. Having a book builds on that. And if you have a blog or give talks or presentations at workshops or seminars, you can readily turn that into a book, too.
All these elements of marketing work together to build your business. Having a book is another addition to your promotional package, so you stand out even more.
If you already have a blog or give any kind of talk, you can use that material to create your book, rather than starting from scratch. And it can be a really short book. All you need is as little as 30 pages – as little as 2000-3000 words, and you can easily include photos. So in just a few days, you can have a book.
How a Book Can Help You
You can feature your book on your website to add to your credibility or give it out to let people know more about your company, products, services, or yourself. You can even give it to your power partners or associates to hand out to prospective clients as a give-away. If your book features informative tips on how-to do something, you can even sell it at workshops and seminars or through Amazon.
In turn, when people see your book, that can interest them in going to your website or calling you to learn more about what you do and how your business can help them.
In short, a combination of books, blogs, articles, and promotional materials can help you build your business success in various ways. These materials can help you:
- Increase your credibility and authority
- Gain more recognition
- Grow your brand
- Build your reputation
- Promote your business
- Get invitations to speak
- Conduct workshops and seminars
- Sell your book and make money
- Help you get more clients and customers
- Increase your fees
- And more.
Thus, there are numerous reasons why you should write a short book; and you can readily turn your blogs, articles, or talks into a book.
CHAPTER 1: TURNING YOUR BLOGS INTO A BOOK
––––––––
Any collection of blogs or talks can be turned into a book. Just combine 5 to 10 or more of them together to create a book of 3000 or more words – about 30 or more pages. Add any photos or illustrations, and voila, you have a book!
While you can develop a longer book, say a how-to
