About this ebook

While the Old Testament is the story of Israel, because of Jesus, it is also the story of every Christian. And so, there's a good chance you’ll see a bit of yourself—a bit of a family resemblance—in folks like Abraham, Moses, and Ruth. More than that, you'll see something of the love of God, which found its greatest expression in Jesus. And it’s, of course, to Jesus that every Old Testament story points.

Like the previous volume in this series, 21/Jesus, this short book was written with busy people in mind. The suggested Bible readings are each less than a chapter, and the devotional entries themselves will take fewer than five minutes to read.

Hanging the curtain rod should have been simple, but as I’m learning with every home improvement project, it’s never as easy as the picture on the box or the YouTube video.

Like many tasks before it, this project sits unfinished. And in many ways, even as my wife and I raise our children, I feel just like that curtain-rod project: unfinished. My mom and dad divorced when I was just seven years old, so I missed out on holding tools while my dad hung window treatments. I missed out on learning about lawnmowers and water heaters and a million other man things around the house. But more importantly, I missed out on learning about Jesus from my
