Life is mostly froth and bubble; Two things stand like stone: Kindness in another's trouble, Courage in our own.

*******
Barry Lambert was a most compassionate soul. Living in a small trailer park outside the city of Las Cruces, New Mexico. His days were spent working at a small gas station where he served as a cashier thirty hours a week.
His smile was always so bright and joyful, as if he was filled with a secret valium gas inside his being. Although, the real reason for Barry's happiness came in helping others. Barry dressed simple, usually wearing blue jeans, t-shirts, the basic wear. He always had on an old gray ball cap with a solid stitched heart upon it, in the color red. Barry really liked the flannel look. He had 3 different flannel jackets to select from and to wear in the cooler months in New Mexico. His hair was dark brown and wavy, not too long, nor not short either. He had a few inches of it and enjoyed the fact that he still had hair at all. Barry was 37 years of age.
Barry was the type to help all those in need to the best of his abilities. Barry was involved in a rather bad accident when he was younger. While walking home one evening in the summer, a car struck Barry from behind throwing his body into a dry dusty ditch. The dust settled and Barry laid there all-night moaning for help. By early morning a farmer from a nearby pistachio orchard came to his rescue.
Barry began each day rather similar to the day before. To most that would be rather dull, mundane or boring; yet to Barry it was simply life, his life. Barry would often smile to himself as he dressed for the day. Getting dressed after having a broken back, along with broken bones in his arms and right leg from the accident, made for a challenge. A challenge in which Barry rose above each day. Barry’s motto in life was; help those in need and do what you can to make others smile. Barry never thought of himself as a victim. He realized through his whole ordeal of being injured that he could succumb to negativity; or he could embrace each moment in life and see where it took him. Barry knew that attitude was important. Maintaining a positive attitude in life, would allow Barry to at least have a better chance of enjoying his life and finding fulfillment in it.
Barry truly enjoyed filling people’s day with laughter and joy. His thoughtful acts throughout the day gave a satisfaction that little else in the day could bring Barry. Walking, getting dressed, preparing a meal, even standing to wait on the next customer were rather painful for Barry;
