About this ebook

What is it like to live at least to three times as long as the average human? Jenna has just passed her one hundred and fiftieth birthday and looks to be just over thirty, and she is, so far as she knows, unique. She lives in isolation from the rest of the human race in an inaccessible and protected location known simply as “her home”.

Although she is physically isolated, she still communicates extensively with other people. She has a few loyal staff in her retreat, and a number of others around the world. She also talks to the leaders of the nations and other powerful people around the world by videoconference and videophone almost every day.

As time passes, she considers the reasons for her isolation, and wonders whether those reasons still apply. One of her friends draws her attention to the work of a young reporter, George, who has written a series of articles about her impact on trends and fashions.

In an amazing break with tradition, she decides to invite George to visit her at “her home” to discuss his articles with her, little knowing what immense interest this will generate in the general population, and the effect that it will have on George’s life. He will be the first person to be invited to visit her in over one hundred years!

I live in the most southerly capital city in the world. I'm no longer working, but when I worked, I worked in IT as a Systems Programmer and Systems Administrator. I still keep my hand in. I'm a fan of Linux, and dislike Microsoft Windows, though I was once a Microsoft Server MVP!I'm driven to write, now that I have time, and some of my writing is based on ideas from decades ago! I resolved that I would not write a story with dragons in it, but, guess what? Many of my stories have dragons in them!
