Chastity Adams

Chastity Adams was born on May 31, 1982 in Wilson North Carolina. She grew up in the small town Stantonsburg, North Carolina. She was raised by her grandmother, Josephine Jacob Johnson. Because of her shyness, the things that she wanted to express but could not say seemed to come out easier on paper. And when she was eleven years old her grandmother bought her a diary as a Christmas gift. Which Chastity soon realized that not only was writing fun, it was also therapeutic, and there was power in putting a pen to paper. She immediately fell in love with the passion of being able to creatively express herself. Her writing started out simple with diary entries and poetry. When she got to high school and became involved in relationships, drama, sex, all the trials teenagers go through, she began recording these events in the form of short stories, pulling inspiration from friends and classmates, along with her own personal experiences which brought her stories to life. After the passing of her grandmother on December 3, 1999, Chastity started writing more and more, sometimes all day, writing was her outlet from the pain she constantly felt as she tried to adjust to life without her grandmother. Chastity Adams started out as a self-published author under the pen name Miss Radiance pushing her work with the help of amazon.com, Createspace, and Kindle Direct Publishing. She did this for two years until she signed with G Street Chronicles in January 2015. This deal opened doors to a new reading market for her, and also made it possible for her to meet, get to know, and be inspired, by her now Mentor Best Selling Author of The Pussy Trap Series...NeNe Capri. No longer affiliated with G Street Chronicles and back on her grind as an independent author, she felt it was time for a new, sexier, more edgy and mature brand so Chastity Adams was born. She has currently released her first of many novels to come. Her first erotic romance titled Treacherous Desire is available on amazon.com and Queencitybullies.com. She is also working on her next release Unsacred Matrimony, schedule to be released this fall, as well as many other literary works opportunities. Chastity Adams is dedicated to becoming an all-around literary business woman. Her career is her passion so if she could choose one thing to do for the rest of her life, writing would definitely be it. When you have something that you love and it completes you, like writing does for Chastity Adams there's nothing that can compare to that type of joy and happiness. Although she is very shy and still at times struggles with expressing herself verbally, something magical happens when she puts her pen to paper. Everything she wants to say and everything she feels oozes out. Chastity Adams is a single mother of one little girl, who is the light of her world, her ultimate pride and joy. Chastity Adams writes because of the love and passion she has for her craft, her main purpose is to entertain, take away stress and anxiety, or just brighten up someone else's day with her characters and the stories they tell. Please join Chastity Adams on her journey and enjoy the many blessings as they unfold.

    Chapter 1

Raphael lay shirtless, in his King size bed, cuddling his wife in his arms, fast asleep, until he was suddenly awakened by his phone vibrating on the nightstand. He reached over picked up the phone and looked at the caller I.D.

You having an affair I should know about? Courtney softly asked, still resting on his chest.

Nah, it’s Luke. Raphael replied as the phone continued ringing.

What does he want this late? Courtney questioned.

Raphael shrugged, pressing the receive button. Nigga, it’s too fuckin’ early. Raphael fussed.

Is this Raphael Davis? A woman asked.

Yeah, who this…how you get my brother’s number? Raphael badgered, slightly removing Courtney’s head off his chest.

My name is Officer Wellington and your brother was an accident…

What you mean an accident? Raphael asked.

I can’t give details over the phone, but he’s been rushed to Los Angeles Memorial…

Before the woman could finish, Raphael hung up the phone, and stumbled out of bed, alerting Courtney.

Raphael, what’s wrong? Courtney asked, sitting up in bed.

Luke was in an accident. I knew I shouldn’t have left him alone. Raphael groaned.

Baby, you were giving him space. Courtney tried to console him.

I gotta get to the hospital.

    I’ma coming with you.

Raphael shook his head disapprovingly. Nah, stay wit’ the kids… Raphael grabbed his black denim pants, off the chair across from their bed, and put them on. Then he pulled a white T-shirt over his head and turned to find Courtney watching him, with a worried look on her face. Don’t worry, I’ll call soon as I know what’s up.

    Okay. Courtney responded.

Raphael walked over to Courtney, leaned in, and kissed her on the lips. I love you.

I love you, too. Be careful, drive safe. I don’t need nothing happening to you, too. Courtney replied.

    It won’t. Raphael promised.

Raphael grabbed his keys off the ring hanger, along with his jacket, and headed out the door. About twenty minutes later, he pulled into the hospital’s emergency parking lot. As soon as Raphael got out of the car, he was ambushed by reporters and cameras.

Raphael, can you confirm that Young Luke was in a car accident tonight? a brown-skinned, female reporter asked, shoving the mic in his face, as the cameras rolled.

Yes, he was in a car accident. I’m not sure of his condition yet though. Raphael responded.

Is it true that his accident was a result of intoxication? Another reporter, a white, bald-head man, questioned.

Whatever happened tonight was Luke’s way of coping, with his wife’s death. Now if y’all don’t mind, I gotta go check on my brother.

Raphael pushed his way through the crowd of reporters, with his hands up blocking the cameras. When he finally got inside the hospital, a female cop, with cinnamon colored skin, dressed in a LAPD police uniform, greeted him.

Officer are you the one who called? Raphael asked.

Yes, I’m Officer Wellington, she responded.

    Do you know his condition?

No, the doctors are supposed to let me know the extent of his injuries soon.

Why, what do you have to do with this?

Your brother has been charged with a DUI and reckless driving. He had a BAC level of zero point one two nine, way over the legal limit.

Raphael released a heavy sigh as he sat down and waited for the doctor. He waited for another two hours until a tall doctor, with pecan skin, brown eyes, and a clean trimmed face walked into the waiting room.

I’m looking for the family of Luke Davis. The doctor scanned the room, until Raphael approached him.

I’m Luke’s brother, how’s he doin’? Raphael asked.

I’m Doctor Lewis, your brother suffered internal bleeding, broken ribs, a fractured skull, and a bleed on the left side of his brain, but for now he’s stabilized. We’ll continue monitoring his progress, the next seventy-two hours will be critical.

Can I see him? Raphael asked.

We’re moving him to a private room. Once he’s settled, I’ll send a nurse for you.

After little over an hour, Raphael was finally allowed to see Luke. He walked into the room and felt a sense of deja vu as he looked at Luke lying there hooked up to all those machines. He had bandages around his head, and his ribcage. His face was covered with bruises from being thrown through the windshield. What disturbed Raphael the most, was his arm handcuffed to the bed.

Fuck is wrong with you putting us through this, Raphael snapped. He pulled out his cell phone and called Courtney to give her an update.

How’s Luke? Courtney answered on the first ring.

He’s hanging on, Raphael simply answered.

    Good…that’s good to hear.

But the worst ain’t over. They placed him under arrest.

    What’s he been arrested for?

A DUI and reckless driving. The cop said he had a BAC level of zero point one two nine

    Babe, that’s not good.

Is there anything you can do to help him?

I’ll go see what I can find out, first thing in the morning.

    ****

Three days passed, Luke was still unconscious. He had regular CAT scans showing no signs of permanent damage to his brain. Luke’s family and Ashley’s family took turns staying by his bedside and praying for his recovery. Since Luke wasn’t conscious and able to attend a hearing. Courtney handled his case; knowing the severity of Luke’s charges. She had her work cut out for her.

Counselor, what’s the status of your client’s condition? Judge Harper asked Courtney after she completed her opening statement.

Your Honor, Luke is currently still in a coma, but I’m here to make a motion regarding his charges, Courtney said, pulling out Luke’s file, placing it on the judge’s stand.

    Mrs. Davis, what kind motion?

I’d like to make a motion against the reckless driving charges. His wife was buried a few hours prior to his accident. Given the mitigating circumstances, I move that the Court drop all existing charges.

Mrs. Davis, you are aware that your client had a BAC level of zero point one two nine? Judge Harper shot her a serious look.

"Yes, Your Honor, but prior to my client’s wife dying, he never drank, or abused drugs. My client is not a flight risk, he’s just going through a rough time right now, he needs help, not jail."

Counselor, I’m going to have to give this some serious thought. I will allow him to be released from the hospital into his brother’s custody for the time being. Leave your client’s file; I will render my decision during his first hearing.

    Thank you, Your Honor.

    ****

Luke’s hard partying and buck wild antics were suddenly interrupted by a beautiful angel with a familiar voice.

"Luke, seeing you like this breaks my heart," the angel said sadly.

"Ashley, I’m having a hard time without you. What am I supposed to do?" Luke asked.

"You’re supposed to do like you promised: be strong and keep living your life. Not only for you, but for our son. Luke, my life is the way God planned; but He has a bigger plan for you. I know it’s hard without me baby, but trust me, it’ll get better. Our baby needs you, and love is still out there when you’re ready. Luke, be the man I fell in love with. I believe in you. I’ll always be watching over you and baby Luke. I love you both eternally!" Ashley softly kissed Luke’s cheek.

Ashley disappeared into a cloud of bright, white lights, and Luke awoke from his coma. His eyes fluttered open and he looked around the room until he was face to face with Raphael.

    Welcome back, Raphael said.

What happened? Luke asked, trying to wriggle his arm, realizing they were cuffed. And why am I cuffed?

    You don’t remember?

Luke shook his head. Not clearly.

Well, you were in a car crash; you were thrown from the car and almost died. Raphael reminded him. As for the handcuffs, you’ve been arrested for driving drunk.

Are you serious? Luke’s eyes grew wide.

Yeah, serves your ass right too. You shouldn’t have been drinking; you could’ve killed someone, and you almost killed yourself.

Damn, as far as I’m concerned, they shoulda let me die. Now to make matters worse, I’m arrested. Luke groaned.

Let that be a lesson next time you think about gettin’ wasted. As far as that comment goes…I think that’s selfish. You have a life that young men would kill for; and because Ashley died, you wanna end that life.

Don’t you get it? Without Ashley, I have no life, Ray.

Luke, fuck that you have family and a son who loves you. Trust me bro, I am not knocking you for loving Ashley, but God chose her destiny. You’re gonna have to accept that and get on with your life.

I ain’t drinking no more, that’s one thing you ain’t gotta worry ‘bout.

Good, you better be lucky Courtney loves you. She’s been working hard to get the charges dropped. I’m gonna get the doctor to check on you and make sure you’re okay.

    A’ight.

The doctor checked Luke and confirmed, he was doing well, and could check out soon. Courtney finally arrived with an order from Judge Harper releasing Luke into Raphael’s custody.

So, I’m off the hook? Luke asked getting excited.

If only the legal system was that easy. For now, you’re just out of jail, but you still have to appear in court.

What’s the judge gonna do to me?

You could get probation, or worse case jail for two to three years.

I can’t go to jail for two or three years. Who’s gonna watch my son?

You should’ve thought about Lil’ Luke when you were getting drunk? Raphael snapped angrily.

Ray, why you tryna play me, man?

I ain’t tryna play you, nigga. You fucked up.

I told you I ain’t drinkin’ no more, that oughta be enough, Ray.

It will be when you start actin’ like you got fuckin’ sense. Lil’ Luke needs you.

    I know Ray…damn. Luke grumbled.

After his final test results, declaring him fit to be released from the hospital. Luke was forced to go home with Raphael and Courtney. He hated being under their supervision, but there was nothing he could do about it. Over the next couple days, Luke worked out, and spent time with his son.

    ****

On August 2nd, Luke got up early, cut his hair, shaved, and dressed in black slacks, a long-sleeve dark blue collared shirt, and black dress shoes, making sure he looked his best for the court hearing.

You nervous? Courtney asked Luke as they sat in the court room waiting for Judge Harper.

    Kinda.

You’ll be alright…relax. Courtney lightly grabbed Luke’s knee, stopping him from shaking it.

Mr. Davis, please rise. The judge ordered.

Luke stood and folded his hands behind his back.

Before I render my verdict, do you have anything to say? Judge Harper asked, looking at him.

Yes, Your Honor, I understand there are better alternatives to help me cope with grief besides drinking. I also understand, that my choices and actions, could’ve caused someone their life. I sincerely apologize, I would never want to cause someone else the agony I feel. I’m ready to accept whatever punishment you have like a man.

Judge Harper nodded. "Mr. Davis, your remorse, lets me know, I made the right decision. Since you have no prior criminal record, or record of substance abuse. I am sentencing you to six months’ probation and thirty-six hundred hours of community service. Although, you don’t have prior history of substance abuse. I am also ordering you to enroll into the California Rehabilitation Treatment Facility, for a duration of ninety days.

You must check in with your probation officer twice a week. Your licenses are suspended until you’ve completed rehab and community service. While you’re on probation, if you are caught drinking, you will be in violation. If you leave or get kicked out of the treatment facility, you will be in violation. If you do not complete all your community service hours, you will be in violation. If you miss a meeting with your probation officer, without good reason, you will be in violation. Any one of these violations will get you the original jail sentence. Do I make myself clear, Mr. Davis?

    Yes, ma’am…perfectly clear.

Monday, afternoon I expect you to enroll into the treatment facility sober. If not, you will be dragged back here and ordered to serve the original sentence. Mr. Davis, don’t think, because I’ve given you leniency today, that I am someone to play with. I’m not, your attorney can vouch for that.

    Yes, ma’am. Luke nodded.

Luke wasn’t so thrilled about the rehab facility, but he was relieved he wasn’t going to jail. When he returned to Raphael and Courtney’s house, his niece and nephews ambushed him in the parking lot.

Uncle Luke, we thought you were going to jail, Simeon said, staring at him.

Nah lil’ man, God looked out for yo’ uncle, Luke responded, then kneeled and touched his shoulders. Do Uncle Luke a favor.

    Alright. Simeon nodded.

Don’t ever drink or do drugs. It causes a lot of pain on families, okay.

    Alright, Uncle Luke, I promise.

Luke gave Simeon, Jared, Jaden, and Cheyenne hugs before going inside the house. He was attacked by his mom and sister, as soon as he walked in the door.

Do you have any idea how this makes me look, Luke? Reagan fumed, with her hands on her hips.

Reagan, don’t start, everything ain’t always about you, Luke snapped, not in the mood to hear her nagging.

Luke, I’m the one who’s been out here making you look good, even though you’ve been acting like an ass.

Reagan, I never asked you to do that shit. I’ma man, I can speak for myself. Luke was getting angrier by the minute.

Fine, do that from now on, Luke.

I will, matter of fact, why don’t you go get a life anyway, get fucked or somethin’. Oh, one more thing, you’re fired. I don’t need you as my manager anymore. In fact, I think I’m done with music.

Fine, I don’t need you either, it’s your career you’re fuckin’ up, not mine! Reagan angrily walked out the door, slamming it behind her.

Aren’t you going to go after her? Deborah asked.

Nah, ma, I’m tired of her always ridin’ me, Luke responded.

She’s just trying to help you, Luke, like we all are. We know you’re hurting, but you have to find better ways to deal with your pain, son. Is this the example you want your son to learn from? If not, you had better start making some changes. Luke, I love you, and I want you to get it together. Deborah grabbed his face, kissing him on the cheek.

I love you too, ma, I’ma try my best. Luke sadly stared down at her.

I know you will, baby. Deborah released his face and backed away. By the way, Roger wants to see you, before you go to the rehab center.

I’ll holla at him before I go; right now, I just wanna hang wit’ my son.

Luke hugged Deborah, then went up to the guestroom. Where Lil’ Luke was asleep on the bed. He laid down, next to Lil’ Luke, cradled him in his arms, and held him close to his chest.

I love you, lil’ man. It’s you and me against the world now, Lil’ Luke. We’re gonna make it through this, painful time together. Luke kissed Lil’ Luke, on the forehead, then he too fell asleep.

    Chapter 2

Mr. Davis, thank you for taking visiting me today. Ashley’s lawyer, Ryan, said.

Ryan, I gotta lot to do, if we could speed this up, that’ll be great. Luke said, walking into Ryan’s office.

Okay, well this seems to be the only day since Ashley’s funeral, that I’ve been able to get you and her family together. Now that you’re all here, I can finally get to the business of Ashley’s will.

Luke was stunned, he and Ashley had talked about a lot of things, but she’d never mentioned a will. The more he thought about it, he guessed it made sense.

I know you all have things to do, so I’ll make this quick. After I finish reading the will, each of you will receive a copy, Ryan skipped over all the legal stuff, and began reading the will.

I, Ashley Davis, being of good health and a sound mind, leave everything I own to my loved ones. Starting with my husband, Luke Eugene Davis and my son Luke Eugene Davis Jr., who I leave all my remaining financial assets.

To my son, I leave a college fund in the amount of five hundred thousand dollars, which is not to be touched until he goes to college or is of legal age to attain the responsibility. I leave my house in the Annenberg Beach Community to my big sister, Brittany, her husband, and their children, and a check in the amount of one-million dollars to be used however she chooses.

I leave my big sister, Jasmine, a check in the amount of one-point five million dollars, so she and her husband can expand their house. Also, so she can start her photography business and finally use that degree she worked so hard to get.

I leave my baby sister, Diane, a check in the amount of one-point two million dollars. So, she can go to that top-notch dance school in New York, she always talked about. I also leave Diane my Mercedes Benz; please take care of it, and use your money wisely, I believe in you.

I leave my parents, Denise and Steven, all rights and ownership of my restaurant, Ashley’s; please keep my restaurant dream alive and continue to make people happy. I also leave my parents both a check in the amount of one million dollars.’

That ends the reading of the will. I have letters for each of you, that Ashley wrote. She wanted me to give them to y’all after the reading of her will. Again, thank you all for your time, I’m sorry for your loss. Ryan gave each of them their letters and copies of the will.

After leaving Ryan’s office, Luke sat in his car, staring at the letter addressed to him in Ashley’s handwriting. His hands shook as he held the envelope, so he put the letter in one of his bags, refusing to read it, and drove off. He arrived at Doctor Durant’s office five minutes, before his appointment. Doctor Durant had become the only doctor Luke trusted.

How was the will reading? Doctor Durant asked when Luke walked into the exam room.

How did you know about that? Luke curiously asked.

Boy please, I have been a part of that family long before you came into Ashley’s life. But anyway…how are you today, Luke…any headaches or hallucinations?

Nah, I feel great; my ribs don’t even hurt any more. So that means I can get these bandages off today, right?

Luke, it hasn’t been six weeks yet; but I will remove the bandage around your head and see how well your stitches are healing. You were lucky you only sustained a small fracture.

I am, Doctor Durant. I don’t know what I was thinking, but it’ll never happen again.

Glad to hear that, Ashley would be very disappointed, to see you acting like this.

Tell me something I don’t know.

Luke left his appointment and went to the tattoo shop. He got a tattoo of Ashley’s smiling face on his right arm, with MY LOVE above it in bold black letters. R.I.P., her birthday, and the day she died tattooed under her face. He also had her name, ASHLEY, tattooed across the top of his chest. Although he was in pain, he decided he couldn’t leave the tattoo parlor without getting one that represented his love for his son.

He decided to get Luke Jr.’s face tattooed on his left chest muscle and his name, LUKE EUGENE DAVIS JR. underneath. As Raphael pulled in front of the treatment facility, Luke was surprised; he was expecting something with a fence, similar to a prison; but this building looked like a college dormitory.

You ready to do this? Raphael asked.

    I don’t know, three months…damn that’s a long time, Luke sighed.

Well, you can either be here for three months or in prison for the next two and half years. Which one would you prefer?

Okay, since you put it that way, guess being here won’t be so bad. I’ma do what I gotta do. Please take care of my son, make sure he spends as much time with Ashley’s family as he can, and don’t let him forget about me.

Luke, lil’ man gonna be good. Just go do your thang and make us proud.

As soon as, Luke entered the facility, he was greeted by a tall, white guy with blond hair, blue eyes, and
