    Introduction

The walk of salvation has been dubbed a hard knock life. Although many people have either fallen away or consciously avoided salvation, a feasible conclusion, it cannot be accepted as being a truth. It is extremely disappointing that most church leaders are the reason behind this wrong perception. The many doctrines embraced by the church have contributed largely to this type of situation. Such claims are not far-fetched as we can indeed credit dissension and waywardness in the church to these doctrines. Many have delivered nothing but condemnation to believers.

Contrary to dissension and waywardness in the church, God, on whom the church is founded, is the God of order. His godly principles direct His actions and direct the course of His kingdom. It is quite obvious that the church in her current state does not necessarily reflect the order and principles that would leave God no choice but to bless her beyond measure - in her rightful bridal position.

It would be dishonourable to any groom if he were to come for his bride only to find her dirty and unprepared for the ceremony. No groom would be pleased and to say the least, the marriage would be unlikely. Christ has been ready for his bride for a long time, but it is disappointing that she is not ready. She is not submissive to Christ or making any effort to purify herself. Without purity, there cannot be a marriage between Christ and the church.

There are many doctrines that the enemy has brought into the church through false prophets. These are frequently embraced by the church, yet we know that most of these doctrines are leading the church away from the Lord as there are no visible good fruits, (see Matthew 7:15-20). The Lord did not leave us as orphans however, but sent the Comforter who will lead us into all truth.

But when he, the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth (John 16:13).

The Holy Spirit is therefore the only solution to the challenges faced by the church. The sad reality is that the same rejection that Christ suffered from the Jews is exactly the same rejection the Holy Spirit is enduring from the church today.

He came unto his own, and his own received him not (John 1:11).

The church has not given the Holy Spirit the platform to fulfil His role. Instead of working together with the Holy Spirit, she continues to try all sorts of doctrines and is confined to programmes. So far she has not found a solution or anything that works. Quite honestly, she will not succeed until she allows the gentle Holy Spirit to lead her into all truth.

This book is intended to help you, as a believer in your personal walk of salvation, to establish a lifestyle of prayer and help you to become constantly aware of the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life. It is important to reach the point at which you confidently know without ever doubting, that the Holy Spirit is with you right there, right now, waiting for you to co-labour with Him.

In The Wigglesworth Standard by Peter Madden, Smith Wigglesworth puts it better,

We are a back number if we have to pray for power, if we have to wait until we feel a sense of His presence to minister. The baptism in the Holy Spirit should empower you for any emergency.

Walking, communing and co-labouring with the Holy Spirit should be the most basic principle of all for every believer. It is currently assumed in the church that only the presumably highly anointed have this expectation.

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God and are become such as have need of milk and not of strong meat (Hebrews 5:12).

By the time we ought to be mature enough to teach new believers, it is shameful that we are generally the ones that are in need of teaching in these first oracles of God; the repentance from dead works, faith in God, baptism, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment, which are basic teachings that every child of God should receive as foundational, entry level teachings into the kingdom. Excessively teaching these basic teachings way past foundational stages has rendered the church ineffective.

Believers who rely on these basic teachings do not mature and therefore can never be effective in using the word of God to improve their lives, the lives of those around them or the city they live in and the world at large. They cannot amass wealth, heal the sick, perform miracles, change government constitutions, or stop wars. They cannot do much to make this world a better place through maturity principles of the kingdom of God, which are readily available in the word of God.

But strong meat belongs to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil (Hebrews 5:14).

In order to be skilful in the word of God, you need to hunger for the knowledge of God, which compels one to seek wisdom and understanding. Such a believer is ready for solid food and the knowledge that the writer of the book of Hebrews, for want of a better expression, ended up saying, …of whom we have many things to say and hard to be uttered… (Hebrews 5:11).

He was referring to the deep truths of the kingdom of God, the principles that lead to an effective, productive and a fruitful walk of salvation and the oracles that are necessary for restoring the world to the original intent and purpose of God for man. These deep truths and principles will enable us to restore and maintain the garden for which Adam failed to take responsibility. He lacked patience and grew weary, leaving his mandate sorely neglected. Instead, he desired fleeting pleasures to fulfil his own selfish needs and forgot the generations upon generations coming after him.

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptism and of laying on of hands and of resurrection of the dead and of eternal judgment (Hebrews 6:1-2).

If you have never heard God telling you to stop doing something, listen to this now. God is telling us through Hebrews 6:1-2, to stop laying the same foundation over and over again. A skilful builder knows that if you keep on laying the foundation, you will never have walls. And if there are no walls, there will be nowhere to put in windows or lay the roof. In such a case, the initial purpose of that house will never be served. A house is built to provide shelter and a home for a family - without it, the family will be left vulnerable. This is exactly what has happened in the church. She is vulnerable against the enemy because only the foundations have been built and the building is not yet in place.

You have been taught repentance from dead works and that you are not a sinner saved by grace, instead you were a sinner until the day you were saved. You have been taught about faith in God and now that you belong to the kingdom of God, you’re aware that everything you need will come from God and so every time you pray you do have faith and you know He hears your prayer and answers it immediately.

You know that you were baptised into Christ and the life you now live is to His glory. You are aware that you are born from above and not from below, not of flesh, but of the spirit. Your DNA is now the same as God’s DNA. You now understand that we lay hands on the sick to receive healing through faithful prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, our deliverer.

By now you also understand the resurrection of the dead because since you are a believer and have been born again into the kingdom of God, you are aware that you will go to heaven the day you die on earth. Nothing will change these truths as you have been taught in the foundational, entry level teachings, because He did not spare His own Son, but delivered
