24 Hour Nightmare is a short horror tale with about 6,000 words. It's Friday night and Monica is checking her email from her apartment in San Jose. She hasn't had a date in over six months.

Monica receives a chain letter email promising that her wish will be granted so long as she forwards the email to 50 people. If she doesn't, she will have a 24 hour nightmare. Monica makes a wish and forwards her email to 47 people. Shortly thereafter, Monica's 24 hour nightmare begins.

    Chapter One

    It’s Friday night and I'm checking my email from my apartment in South San Jose. I wish I had something else better to do. I haven’t had a date in over six months.

    Three years ago, I thought I had found a man that I clicked with on all levels. Michael was in his late thirties. He was handsome, sweet and had a good paying job. It wasn't until I accidently logged into his email, I found out that he had a wife in L.A.

    After him, there was Brian. He was forty and the thing I liked about Brian was that he could make me laugh. But you can only laugh so much. The man was addicted to weed and that wasn't something I was into. Plus, I got tired of the fact that he couldn't hold a job.

    I then tried a no strings attached thing with a guy that I had met online. Craig was a few years younger. We both had gotten out of bad relationships. Neither of us was looking for a long-term relationship. In the beginning, it was great. The sex was awesome. After a few months, I wanted more. I wanted someone that I could call my boyfriend.
