    Very Short Stories is the first book of "Gul Ozseven", a Turkish woman poet who writes poems in English. Most of the poems are commentaries on the everyday life. In the poems, the tone is witty and sad; other poems could be described as a truly compelling and exciting memoir of the lyrical poet. Some of the events and places are imaginary, giving the book a fairytale look. Once you zoom in, you enter a unique world of passion, compassion, surprise and happiness.     Gul Ozseven was born in Istanbul, Turkey (1968). She graduated from Robert College in 1986. Later she went to Bryn Mawr College and recieved B.A (Honours) degree in sociology from Bogazici University. She has an MA degree in "British Cultural Studies" from Warwick University (1993)
