Twelve Gates - Michael P Green

    Jasper

    Twelve Gates:

There are twelve gates which are made manifest to man.  These gates sit along the walls of Jerusalem, and it is said, But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.[Micah 4:1-2]

Life truly does begins before conception, God places an emphasis on a person's time of birth into the world; this value is inherently placed upon the birth-month because God chooses it to suit His purposes.   At birth the child passes into the world through one of the twelve gates of Jerusalem, which corresponds to the month in which the babe is born.  Each gate is represented by one of the twelve sons of Jacob, and is positioned upon one of the four walls of Jerusalem, which sit upon twelve foundations.  The birth-month represents the tribe each person is born into. It symbolizes being born into one of the twelve chosen blessings of God; the bible says that children are a blessing from the Lord[Psalms 127:3] therefore at birth each man is represented by one of the twelve tribes of Israel because it is through them that the world is blessed.

God revealed this blessing unto Abraham:  (And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?) [Genesis 18:17-18]  Now this verse is by all means referring to Jesus Christ being born of Abraham's blood and saving mankind from sin, but there is also another symbolic reference here that is important.  The symbolic reference to Abraham is this, Abraham is the father of the faithful, therefore he is our, symbolic father[Romans 4:16].  Now, continuing along this line of thought, we are physically born through one of the twelve gates of Abraham at birth, and upon confessing Jesus as God's Son and our Redeemer, and having all faith that God raised Jesus from the dead, the believer is sealed spiritually into the family of God through faith by the holy spirit of God.    This sealing is complete and immediate, we are born into a complete and perfect faith.  It is important to note here for your soul's sake that there are twelve gates into this world but only one gate which leads into heaven.  This gate is the Lamb's (Shepherd's)Gate, which is open to all which have the blood of the Lamb as their covering.   Jesus Christ is the only gate to the Father!  Jesus himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. [John 14:6]  Therefore Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and through faith we are sealed with the Lamb's Blood and the Holy Spirit.  Jesus Christ, is the only path to God!

Jesus himself talks about two gates; He describes the broad gate as being born into the world, taking on the natural ways of men and sin through the flesh, but Jesus also describes a strait gate, which leads to everlasting life.  We enter the world through the broad gate and are therefore born into sin, but through Jesus we  have a right to eternal life.  When discussing heaven, Jesus said, Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.[Matthew 7:13-14]  Being born into the world, living in the world is the broad gate; Jesus Christ, is the only path to Heaven!

In [Galatians 3:6-9] we see that it is necessary to have faith and believe the witness of God, in order to please God.  (Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.  Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.  And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.  So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.)

What is the witness of God?  This is answered in, [1 John 5:10-12]

(He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.)

It is important to note that we are symbolically born into the world through one of twelve Gates of Abraham, which signifies that we are potential heirs to the promise that God made to Abraham, but the true children of Abraham are the ones born into Christ.  [Galatians 3:29] says that, (And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.)

Everything written in this book assumes that the reader belongs to Christ!  The blessings and insights written within are only for God's chosen people.  Also, you must not place any special emphasis on the Walls, Colors, Stones, Gates, Months nor any of the things referenced within this book, because these ideals speak only to personality traits.  Gifts are not detailed in this book, because God gives each person gifts as He chooses to benefit the church [1 Corinthians 12:7]; the manifestation of these gifts can help the believer overcome all hindrances, because they are manifested through the Holy Spirit [Isaiah 10:27].  Therefore child of Christ you are anointed in Jesus name!

The purpose of the book is to encourage and caution the believer in a spiritual way.  The things referenced within are symbolic of your desire to learn about God through his son Jesus.  All things are reconciled to God through Jesus.  Do not place anything that was created over God, who created all things through Christ Jesus.  For example: if your birth-stone is a Ruby and you choose to wear this stone, think not that  wearing it gives you any special covering.  The Christian is covered by the blood of Christ, which is the only covering necessary.  Wearing a Ruby would only be a symbolic acknowledgment of your foundation in Christ.  It symbolizes your will to honor God.  I firmly believe that, if you make an effort to honor God, then God will honor your effort.

There are Two Major and Ten Minor foundations in Christ.   In all there are Twelve Foundations: (each of which is represented by a stone) [Exodus 28:17]  The major foundations help to insulate us against the effects of breaking the minor foundations.  It is important to say here that if you are Saved by Grace then you will keep The Ten Commandments(minor foundations).  The Two Major Foundations are these: Unconditional Love, and Salvation by Grace.  Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of both Major Foundations.  Love came from God through Jesus Christ and Salvation comes only through Jesus Christ by Grace.
