    Omniscient - Eric James

    Perspective

    The Social Media Effect ‘

I just find it funny how something we suppose to be controlling,

    Can end up controlling you,

Or how something that began as a platform to communicate,

Became something used to expose you,

It’s crazy how we never use things as we suppose to,

Or how it can put distance between us and the people that we are close to,

See the affect of social media,

Left all of us with an addiction,

It caused all of us to seek for attention,

    Leaving us to constantly hyperbolize,

    And fulfilled with contradictions,

But as well, put us in the position to always want competition,

    Steadily comparing and contrasting,

    Downgrading and bashing,

    Just to uplift our self-esteem,

    For our own satisfaction,

    Popularity and sexual references,

    Became the main attractions,

    Everybody became stylists,

And now all have opinion on others fashion,

    Repetitive statuses, copying captions,

Then there is the never ending,

Hustlers and Scammers with the money flashing,

    This shit is a distraction,

    We need less social media,

    And more social interaction,

Or soon, we will be completely consumed,

And unfortunately doomed because of our willingness to let it control our life,

And you can’t say I’m not right,

Nevertheless, this is just some poetic advice,

It’s just sad that you’ll read this and continue strolling on your device.

    The Social Media Effect….

    Ethics

    Tough times is rough,

    Though, they build tough individuals,

    It’s strange,

How those hard times are usually unpredictable,

    Along with complex messages,

    That is way beyond literal,

Yet, they’re important to learn and very so critical,

See I learned from my old principal,

    That there were principles,

In order to succeed, then you have to be visual,

Transitional, knowing you have to be divisible,

In order to flip your situation,

From the bottom to the top like reciprocals,

First thing, I learned to do was be original,

So, my concentration is on making history

    Not reciting it,

    Yes, I pay homage,

But, I’m more focus on rewriting it,

    See why should I settle,

    When I can obtain greatness,

Knowing that equation takes hard work and patience,

Add a tad bit of ambition,

Then my success will go anywhere I decide to take it,

I remember always to stay humble,

And to keep proceeding after every stumble, not letting a hard time make me crumble,

Because I know that I’ll eventually grab my peak,

So I’ll continue to display confidence every time I speak.

    Ethics.

    ‘Setting Of My Life’

The young mom begins to read her son a story,

The little boy points to the picture,

Saying mommy can we go there,

Pointing to the city of big dreams,

    With even more nightmares,

Bright lights, big buildings, & big attitudes,

    Same hard streets,

    Only thing that changes,

Is the name of the streets, & the avenues,

The city of wealth, power, & respect,

You have to have your eyes closed,

If you can’t see the poverty, crime, & the death,

    We’re obsessed with materials,

    Forgetting about the literal,

    Neglecting each other,

When our genes are 99% identical,

    Now isn’t that about a…

I’m not going to refer to a female dog,

They don’t let you stand on your own feet,

Out here, they would rather see you crawl,

They teach you in elementary school that you can be whatever you put you mind to,

But, how can you chase your dreams, without being mindful

Of the struggle that surround us,

The hateful place that we living in,

    Getting fucked by the world,

And people always want to put their tips in,

    If my setting doesn’t change,

Then, I hope the people soon will,

    It’s sad when they celebrate,

    When they see you fail.

    Endless Thoughts

The truth of the matter is,

I’m not suppose to amount to anything because of where I come from,

    But I’ve come to realize
