    Preface

    What the Hell happened… .

Everything is finally going right. Gabriel had finally graduated with his Bachelors in Culinary Arts and he is working on his Masters in Food Studies. His restaurant was officially running properly after its two years of ups and downs, going through chefs and waiters. Things were just falling into place, finally. Foundation was firmly set under his feet and he was able to stand in confidence of his accomplishments.

It all began when Gabriel and his friends were messing around in their apartment. Around 3 o’clock in the morning they were trying to pull an all night cram session. Somehow they got the idea to experiment with the food that they had in the kitchen. After several tries they came up with four complete dishes, yet it did not stop there because they then started messing around with drinks. Furthering their experiments one of them came up with the idea of opening up a little shop. A nice café atmosphere with dim lighting, good music to listen to, good company to be with, and great food to top it all off, the ideal hangout spot to ease the college students soul.

Their main focus was to feed the night owls as they called it. Other students who ventured long hours into the night studying and working hard all had the common need to be fed. This bond of hunger in the late hours of the night gave them a plan, a mission and a will to put it all in motion. They started cooking for their neighbors and anyone else that was in the area, starving for nourishment.

Next they presented the idea to their school and it was approved. They formed a one-year contract with the school to help and sponsor them with their entrepreneurship and its endeavors. After working out of their own apartment for a semester, they then found a nice little office space. They named their café Wake Up to the Seasons. With the little money that they raised and the help from their friends, they were able to fix the place up.

Once the word got out about a new all night hot spot, it became easy to recruit help, especially when they were willing to work for a meal. By the time everything was up and running properly they had a full menu of concoctions that they had made up. Naming many of their composed items after close friends and loyal customers, the main menu was as followed.

    B.A. Breakfast

    E-man Dog

    Throwers Throw Down (Platter)

    Lady V (Ladies House Special)

    B-rad Burger

    Tiny Tim PB&J

    Fast Sprint

    Innocent Cakes

    David Cop. Night Special

    Light Weight Pete

    Marcus Salad

    Mini ME

    Jewel

    Ty-Pain (Wings)

    5 finger Jill

    T&T

    Thor (a hearty meal)

    3 L

    Kita Lucci Triumph

    Thomas Craver

After the first three years of their successful business venture, they all began to go their separate ways. They were now seniors in college and none of them shared the same major. The agreement that they made was to stay connected through their partnership that they formed. Each of them sought out their own passions soon after graduating starting their own businesses under the company name, Wake Up, LLC. This was the one name that they all agreed on.

Lifelong friends, they all shared the same dreams with different viewpoints. The plans for the company called for a movement behind it. They wanted to embark on the commonality that everything was first founded on, family and friendship, but you first have to wake up and do. It kept the significance of the beginning of their entrepreneurship and it allotted room for growth.

Gabriel was given full control of the restaurant. One of the partners went into the club industry and became a manager. Another got into the music industry and created the Wake Up record label. The other went into hotel management. They all stuck together and helped one another out except for one who sort of strayed from the group. In school he was interested in law and criminal justice but after graduation he disappeared. The restaurant however, was relocated and officially renamed the Five Seasons, also under the Wake Up, LLC.

After a year of Gabriel managing the restaurant on his own, things were finally looking up. He finally found the right people for the right jobs creating that unique family atmosphere.

    The Night is ours

    Gabriel

It all started with my daily jog,

    listening to music

    doing my normal routine

    running through the streets

    when I realized

    I had picked up speed.

    What am I running for?

Better yet what am I running
