    FOREWORD

Twenty years ago I had the privilege to study under the teaching of the author of this book at London’s Bibleway Training Institute. As the founder, and Dean of the Institute, Apostle McIntosh, is no stranger to equipping Christians for ministry. He is an exceptionally gifted teacher with a clarity of expression, and a knowledge of the Bible, that bear witness to a life that has been dedicated to the service of God.

Given that preaching and teaching are the God-ordained means by which the good news of Jesus Christ is to be brought to the world, the need for anointed speakers, that speak with clarity and truth, cannot be overstated. As one well known preacher put it: scrambled sermons, like scrambled eggs, soon become a monotonous diet.

Apostle McIntosh never lets us forget that the preacher must work hand-in-hand with God. Only then can he craft a message that will speak to the needs of the people and generate a heartfelt response.

When Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost the Bible says that the crowd were pricked in their heart. The only way to achieve such a result is by much prayer and hard work: but the author shows that there are fortunately still some guiding principles that can help us to find and order our words.

The aspiring preacher will discover in this short book a wealth of experience to help equip them to fulfil their high calling of God. In addition, the author has illustrated his writing with outlines of more than 20 sermons preached in the course of his thirty-year ministry.

I would recommend this book to anyone who feels called to proclaim the good news of salvation and who is striving to achieve their best to fulfil the Master’s service.
