    PREFACE

Religion frowns at sinners, disdain, and spite backsliders and treat them like lepers. But what does the bible says? Does God hate backsliders or those of His children who fall into sin with an unrepentant hatred? Is God done and finished with you because, you being a child of God, has been overtaken by the scheme of the devil and has fallen prey into his web of sin that he has skillfully spurned for you?

So many giants of faith, vibrant Christian brothers and sisters, and mighty men of God in every ramification all through history, have fallen into one sin or the other. Countless numbers never rose again or recover from their fall. While some though they rose, never really came back to their full self in God. Some became so cold, and half-dead in the things of the spirit bringing about the death of their ministry, their calling and their place in God. While some gradually slide back into apostasy (denying the faith), and die tragically in that condition, and loss their precious soul in the process.

Unscriptural church discipline, and the holier than thou mentalities, or idiosyncrasies of some brethren and the entire Christian community, has helped plunged some backsliders deeper and deeper into the quicksand of sin into which they had fallen. What should be the churches (believers) attitude towards a fallen saint? Should the church still have anything to do with him? Should we still embrace him in love, and look at him in the light of what he can still become for God, or treat him like a leper? Is there still hope for a fallen saint? Does God still love or have anything to do with him or her? Can anything good still come out of him? Can such a one still fulfill his calling and ministry, and still bring glory and joy, to the heart of God? Can such a one, receive free forgiveness from God upon genuine repentance, and still go ahead to accomplish anything meaningful for God that would warrant a standing ovation from the angelic hosts, and the cloud of witnesses who had gone on before, when he walks through the gates of heaven tomorrow?

This is what this book is out to address. Speaking with the mind of Christ, and the authority of the scripture, I’m happy to announce to you that, regardless of the height from whence you must have fallen, God still cares, and loves you. And His desire is to have you return home with a truly broken and penitent heart and you would receive pardon. You can still rise from that great fall, recover all that you might have lost, and become all that God had originally intended you to be, and nothing less. For the Lord God is a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness. (Neh 9:17)

    INTRODUCTION

Who says that you cannot rise again? Who had bewitched you into believing the gospel that says once fallen, you are forever out of favor with God? The true gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ announces to us that, we can still recover from that fall into sin, forge ahead into the thick of the battle and still emerge as victors and champions of faith. Am here to announce to you that regardless of the height from whence you have fallen, you can still rise to the highest height imaginable. God can still heal you of every wound you must have suffered in the event of your fall. His compassion demands that He hear you when you cry out from that horrible pit of sin into which you have fallen. If only you can lift up your voice and cry from a truly penitent and broken heart. He heard Jonah from the belly of the fish. He heard David from the pit of adultery and murder. He heard Peter who denied him. He even forgave them all after they renounce their calling, forsook their assignment and took to their old fishing trade. His arm was long enough to reach down to Samson in the grinding mill of the Philistine. He would hear you too and reach down to you in that pit of sin into which you have fallen.

I want to say there is hope for you. You are not finished yet. God is still very much interested in you. No matter how bad the thing you must have done is, God is merciful and gracious enough to forgive you all your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. The blood of His dear Son Jesus is powerful enough to absolve all your sins. And His grace is rich enough to freely forgive all your most terrible sins put together. What God did for one, He can do for all. So your case is not different. God is giving you a pat of encouragement on the back through this book saying unto you, son, don’t feel down, let not your soul be downcast, I know your frames, I know that you are made of but clay. All you need do is get up and be heart broken for your sins. Acknowledge them and be truly sorry over them, confess them to me sincerely and get going. And I would forgive you and strengthen you for the rest of the way.

There are no any good people born by nature. Scripture is replete of bad people made well, (sinners made saints) by grace. Almost all the generals of God regardless of the dispensation and age, in which they lived, are people with flaws in one area or the other of their lives. All who succeeds and became champions of the faith once failed in one way or the other. But the good news is that, regardless of what you might have done, you can receive free forgiveness, justification, and restoration of all that you have lost including your right standing with God. Check out all the names of God’s heroes of faith in Hebrew chapter eleven, they are all men and women of limitations and flaws. Yet God forgave them, cleansed them, and went ahead to use them to fulfill His eternal purpose. It is a clear demonstration of the power and beauty of God’s immeasurable grace. That the Excellency of the power might be of God.

Therefore, you don’t have to die in that state of spiritual backsliding and coldness in your spirit because of your sins. You can rise up now and choose to return to the bleeding side of Jesus and receive forgiveness, put the past behind you, and move ahead. The compassionate arms of God are ever opened to receive you back home to His bosom of Love. It is not all over yet. You are still very important to God and you are still the object of His divine love. His desire is to see you return home for that second touch for refining, reformation, and re-clothing. You can still get up, get going, and fulfill your calling, your ministry, and your God given destiny. You are not finished yet. Don’t die in self-condemnation. That is
