    PREFACE

Many American Christians face a tough choice. The choice is, to go along with the established traditions of their Church or, to ask questions about how and why things work or don’t work in practice. For instance; Jesus said in Mathew 18: 19, ‘If two or three are gathered together in my Name, whatever they shall ask in agreement shall be done by my father in heaven. This passage sounds like an absolute promise. However, I never heard a pastor or teacher break down what this passage meant in terms of a here-and-now salvation and healing application. When I learned what this passage actually meant, it was an invaluable help to me in my ministry in healing the sick, ill and diseased. However, I had to learn how it worked and how to apply it for myself first. This book is written, to help people understand the provisions found in the word of God, and then, give them the knowledge, understanding and courage to use what they learn. In addition, it is my hope that the people of God will master the principles and provisions for themselves, and then learn to apply them to others. I will demonstrate, in this Book, that when God does something for you, it is not for you alone but to be shared and not hidden under a bush. God gives the light so that all who are near will receive a benefit.

I will demonstrate and you will see that by my real life experiences that what is written in the Bible about healing is true. In addition, When Jesus said to go and heal the sick you will discover we are well able to do it. I am the living proof of these words and the truth they represent. This is my testimony and it is not open to a debate. Jesus lives and all of His Words are true.

Among other things, this book will chronicle my healing from bi-pass surgery, where four (4) major arteries to my heart were 80 to 90 per-cent occluded (closed) to blood flow. Yet today my doctor is amazed at my recovery and continued strength. I will take the reader through my step-by-step recovery through Gods’ plan of restoration in the hope that it will help someone in similar circumstances. In addition, I will present seven (7) principles we must understand and master if we are to act boldly to accomplish the commands JESUS gave us.

    INTRODUCTION

This book is written for the average serious student of the Word who is dedicated to know and act upon the Truth. Jesus said, ‘My Words are Truth and they are Life. The truth that Jesus speaks about is not limited to any one group of people or time or place. It is for anyone and everyone who wants and seeks it. My understanding of this Truth began in my early life with regular Bible reading as a child and continues to this day. My mother used to say that reading the Bible will make you smart and wise. Today, I could not agree with her more.

At twelve (12) years old, I received Jesus as my LORD and SAVIOR at Progressive Baptist Church in Berkeley, California. During that year everything changed. Somehow I knew that I was being prepared for some-thing God wanted me to do, although at the time I did not know what. As with most children, I liked to run and play and I could always find things to do with my friends or my older brother. However, one day something strange happened to me. I found myself unable to walk after I had played a strenuous game of baseball. I sat down to rest. After all the other kids left the field, I literally crawled home. (200 yards) We lived on the same block as the school on 8th Street. This was my first encounter with the super-natural world of Gods’ Kingdom.

In my first book, ‘MY Journey To Divine Healing’ I outline in detail my experience which lead me to a clear understanding of the work that Jesus accomplished on the cross. This book will lead the reader into an understanding of the practical application of how to go about actually doing the healing work of Jesus. I will include nine (9) Bible ways we may heal today. Personal experiences I have had applying these biblical provisions. I will explore something as simple as a body pain to the the more complex of raising someone from the dead. Commanding pain to leave a person’s body is the same as raising the dead as far as Jesus is concerned. We often have the view that there are degrees of healing difficulty, when in reality, according to Jesus, it is only a matter of degrees of Faith.

    CHAPTER 1

    Mastering The Journey/Steps I Took

These are the Principles I had to learn and steps I had to take in order to master my journey and enter into strong faith. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen. Faith is essential if you are to master your journey. With ‘Faith’ in God, all things are possible.

1.) You must have faith to know that God exists, and He will reward those who diligently seek Him.

2.) You must know the Word of God is faithful, true and reliable. (Genesis 1: 1) ‘In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth’.

3.) You must have faith to know; All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.’ (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

4.) You must be willing by faith to take God at his Word, without adding to or taking from what God has spoken by His Prophets or His Written Word.

5.) You must be willing to submit to Gods’ will in His written and spoken Word. WHAT GOD SAYS, IS HIS Will. READ WHAT GOD said and you will KNOW His Will. (This prayer,’ LORD, IF IT BE YOUR Will, I ask you to help me’. This statement is full of doubt and un-certainty). The Bible says, ‘a double minded man cannot expect to receive anything from the LORD. Don’t cop out. Come boldly before the thrown. The only time JESUS uses this form of prayer, was when he was asking God to remove the cross. Jesus knew he was facing death and his flesh was looking for a way out. Remember, Jesus was temped in all points as we are tempted, yet without sin. Then, Jesus goes back to the Word and says, ‘never the less, not my will, but your Will be done. Jesus knew that it was already written that he should go to the Cross and he yielded to the written Will of God. If we are going to follow JESUS, we can do no less than what Jesus did.

6.) You must be Doers of the Word and not just hearers only. This takes a particular kind of courage and you must be anchored in Gods’ Truth.

To be anchored in truth and then also to act upon it, is one of the greatest challenges that the church faces today. In the current cultural mix of the United States, the task of presenting the truth to so many diverse people groups is daunting and is only possible by the Holy Spirit. Mans’ natural reasoning will not be sufficient to accomplish this, but the Word of God in the Bible is always more than sufficient. We are reminded, that in 1 Corinthians 12: 28, it is the Holy Spirit that assigns gifts among men and third in that list is the gift of teaching. We are also told that it is the Holy Spirit that teaches us all things of Jesus. With men as willing instruments of God, in the care of the Holy Spirit, the work of teaching moves forward in the Church. The result is that Jesus is revealed the world and to the church.

For most of us who are involved and doing the work of spreading the Word of God, we trace our early interest in what we are doing to a teacher. Usually it was a good teacher in our lives somewhere along the way.

My experience as a teacher has taught me, that the people who are being taught want to know, ‘how do you know what you are teaching is true?’ The answer has two responses. First, if you are teaching in a setting not associated with a church, all people want to know, ‘is the information in ‘the book’? This will in establish your authority to speak ‘from the text book’. Second, if you are teaching from the Bible in a church setting, the standard is raised. What people want to know, ‘is the information in the Bible true and how do you know it is true?’ In my opinion, the same higher standard should apply to both settings.

During the past 40 years of teaching in both settings, I have developed the following teaching philosophy, ‘that if I can’t do what I teach, then I will not teach it. In teaching healing to the people of God, this has proven invaluable in showing proof that Gods’ Word is always true. It also proves healing always works because Gods’ word is always true. If clergy attempt to put conditions around why healing may not always work, they undermine the faith of those who are listening. We as teachers must always teach why Gods’ healing always works, not why it doesn’t.

You must be willing to speak Words of Faith in spite of the visible evidence to the eye or physical feelings you may have at the time. ‘Your own hearing of the Word from your own mouth will build your own faith, because, Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the WORD of GOD. When you speak words of faith out loud, you hear yourself and your faith is being built up by your own mouth. (Romans 10:8-13 says, ‘the word is near thee, even in your mouth, and in thy heart: that is the word that we preach: That if you shall confess with your mouth the LORD JESUS and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and WITH THE MOUTH CONFESSION IS MADE UNTO SALVATION. For the Scripture says, ‘Whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between JEW or Gentile, for the same LORD is over all and rich towards all who call upon his name. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD, shall be saved.’

7.) You must be willing to Act on the Spoken Word and Written Word of GOD in the same way. It is written, ‘FAITH without WORKS (action) is dead.’

The difference between action and inaction is the difference between obeying the WORD and disobeying the WORD. The principle is, when the Word is spoken, move immediately. This is especially true in receiving your HEALING. When you move, then that’s when God moves. When you move, that’s when you show GOD your Faith. In any Healing Service, you
