About this ebook

A JOURNEY TO ENLIGHTENMENT is a journey to the light within each of us. Most people instinctively know there is a greater power at the core of creation. We have named that power God and have created many religions to celebrate God. Religions at their basis teach love and the Golden Rule but unfortunately because mankind has interjected their opinions into the mix there has been great separation between religions and people on this planet. Most of the wars have been fought because of the differences in interpretation that religions have. Each religion believes they are the one true path to God. But with all of the many religions which one is the one true way?
We have learned to give our power to people outside of ourselves thus making ourselves powerless. It is time we turned within to the power inside of each of us, our heart, Soul, and God within. For it is there and only there that our true power lies.
God is not outside of us as many religions have inferred. When we wake up and remember our authentic self as an aspect of the Creator is when the Journey to Enlightenment happens. We are much more then these bodies we inhabit. We are an Eternal Spirit focused in these human forms having a human experience, with powers and abilities far beyond our imagining. One of these powers is the ability to co-create with all of creation. Have you heard the expression, Thoughts become things? What we think goes forth from us and it takes form in this world we live in. At this time we are moving from the third dimensional frequency to the fifth, which is assisting us to remembering our Divine self. Allow me to assist you on your Journey To Enlightenment.

A Journey to Enlightenment - Linda Abrams

    Chapter 1

    AND SO IT BEGINS

In the beginning there was God and from that sprung all things in creation. The Universe as we know it today is an expression of God’s creative abilities. There is much that we do not know about this vast Universe we live in. Since the beginning of what we refer to as time, God has been a great mystery to many of us. There are many mythologies about God. Throughout time we as humans have labeled this magnificence of creative, loving energy many names. The list is very long. Yet there is still only ONE who created all things and is all things.

If you look at the history of this planet you will find that most cultures had the concept of a God or many Gods. People have worshiped a Sun God, a Water God, a God for good crops, and other kinds of Gods. They believed that by sacrificing an animal, an infant or a virgin would please the Gods or God and their lives would be good. Some of these ancient Gods and Goddesses are still spoken of in mythology today. The Roman Goddess Venus, the Greek Goddess Aphrodite, the great God Zeus, the Native American White Buffalo Woman are just a few examples of Gods and Goddesses.

In some cultures the people erected temples for each of their Gods and Goddesses and brought gifts of food, money and other material objects of value to please the Gods. They would ask the Goddess of love to persuade the person they loved to love them back or to find them a true love. The Gods of war were prayed to for a successful battle and to win over the enemy. Understand that each of the Gods and Goddesses that were prayed to were said to have special talents and powers.

In the Roman Empire, Egypt, England, France, Russia, China, Mexico and many other countries throughout history the King, Queen, and Emperor were considered to be akin to Gods themselves. They were given absolute power over the life and death of their subjects. People would bow down to them and do their bidding. The people believed that they possessed great powers and loved and feared them at the same time.

That was a time of ignorance and eventually it was found out that Kings, Queens, and Emperors were just people like everyone else with the advantage of the family they were born into, education, money and power. The average person was kept down and not encouraged to be educated. People who are ignorant are much easier to control. In their ignorance they did what they were told, they prayed the way they were told. They had not yet learned to discern for themselves even about God.

What the ancient people did not understand was that they had within themselves the same abilities and attributes that the Gods and Goddesses they worshiped possessed. God Almighty is within each person and God within us is capable of all things. The people of ancient times gave their power to someone or something outside of themselves because they were ignorant. If instead they had addressed God within themselves they would have achieved their hearts desire and have not made themselves slaves to the bidding of others. But that was not the case. It wasn’t yet time for them to remember.

    Chapter 2

    A SINGLE GOD

In time the concept of One/God, the Creator of all things came into being by the Jewish people of ancient times. Other people took this concept of the One/God and called the Creator by other names, creating new religions such as the many different kinds of Christianity, Islam, and other religions that followed the teachings of a One/God. Man in his need to understand and to feel connected to this new God, created rights and rituals around the concept of God. People introduced the traditions of the day into their practices of worship because that gave them comfort. Each religious community had their own interpretation of what God was, and what God expected of them. These beliefs were passed down from generation to generation in story and in song. Eventually they were put to paper and put into Holy Books. These books we call Bibles, Torah, Koran, and Holy Scriptures. Because there are so many religions on this planet I will be focusing mostly on the Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths in the following.

The Jewish people were given the Ten Commandments, the Torah, the Talmud, and the Kabala which is the foundation of the Jewish faith. The Christians borrowed the Ten Commandments and the Old Testament and to that added the New Testament and the teachings of Jesus as the foundation of their faith. The Muslims have stories from the Old Testament, they speak of Jesus as a Prophet, and they have the teachings of Mohammad and the Koran as the foundation of their faith. Within the teaching of all of these different faiths are guidelines and rituals that assist the followers of these religions to put their focus and faith in God. These teachings assist them to know God is in their life and through God they can have a life of prosperity, peace and love. These three religions are only a few of the many more religions all over this planet of ours. All of the other religions have their own rights and rituals to assist their followers to connect to God in their own special way as well.

It is interesting to me that the authors of the different Bibles, the religious leaders, and the followers of each religion believe that their version of God and their Bible teachings are the one true way. Each group of religious people feels that God favors them above all others. In fact, in some religions, the people feel that if you do not see God as they do then surely when you die you will go to Hell, or they believe in death to nonbelievers. I feel that it is that kind of thinking that caused a great separation, pain and suffering between people then and also in our world today. It is those kinds of thinking that also cause one group of people to war with another group of people over their religious differences, and in that we have a world that is no longer ONE and at peace and harmony under God.

Allow Your Heart To Do The Reading

Religions whose Bibles are still in their original ancient language and are read from that ancient language have maintained most of their original meaning. Bibles that have undergone the process of translation could not fully have the original meaning remaining as it was intended, because they have been translated and retranslated into several languages. When words are translated from one language to another the original essence can and usually changes. The Christian Bible, as one example, has had their Bible translated into many different languages.

During the rain of Roman Emperor Constantine was when the New Testament was created. Emperor Constantine was Rome’s head Pagan Priest and a remarkable politician. Rome’s main religion at that time was the worship of the Sun God. There was much conflict in the Roman Empire because of the different religions. To resolve the problem Constantine made Pauline Christianity Rome’s new main religion. It was more of a political choice then a religious one.

I believe that because his own mother was a Christian that that may have influenced him along with the fact that Christianity was growing very quickly. Constantine would create a more peaceful society that would be easer to rule as a result of taking this action.

He brought together The Council of Nicaea who voted on which gospels they would include in a new Bible. A gospel contains the author’s impression of what Christ taught, what that persons experiences are around their belief in Christ’s teaching, the community that they lived in, and how it related to their own personal life experiences. The Webster’s New World Dictionary defines: Gospel as: good news, teaching of Jesus and the Apostles, any of the first four books of the New Testament.

Each author of the Gospels comes from a different point of view. Do we truly know if any of them have any personal contact with Jesus? Also how do we know that their impressions of Jesus and His teachings were the absolute truth? As you know no two people see the same thing the same way, so where in lies the truth?

    Chapter 3

    HOW RELIGIONS CAUSE SEPARATION

There are many books out in our world today by historians that have researched Christ and different religions as they evolved, and not all of the books agree on all the points they make. In the Muslim faith the people and the religious leaders do not always see the teachings in their holy book the same way. Some Muslims are radical in their interpretation and believe that anyone who is not a Muslim should die, they say, Death to Infidels. They go around the world blowing up people and killing them all in the name of their God.

I’d like to take a moment and try and explain how their interpretation may not be the way it was intended. What I mean by that is they have taken the words literally, and do not see the spiritual meaning that lies beneath those words.

When anyone has total faith in Allah then they trust that Allah brings to them a life filled with love, peace of mind and abundance. Abundance by the way is not just money, but the eyes to see the gift in all things that are in your life and to be grateful for all things. It is then that you are at peace within yourself and your eyes and heart are open to love.

Allah made us all different as he did each grain of sand or every other part of creation. When a person truly has faith in Allah they know that they are protected, guided, loved and provided for by Allah. It is only fear that creates one person to look at another as an enemy. A fear that says that one person’s life style can have power over your own life style. How is that possible when you are the only one living in your body, thinking in your head, choosing your feelings and choosing how to live your life? No matter what I say or do, I can not affect you unless you choose to see it my way instead of your way. You are always the decision maker for what you choose to believe because you are the only one living in your body, and thinking in your head.

There are people who live in my country and do drugs, rape women and children, rob, and kill. I have decided that that is not a loving way for me to treat myself or others so I choose not to do that. To blame another for the choices you make is to allow yourself not to be honest with yourself. No one can make anyone do anything they do not want to do. It is so very easy to point your finger at someone else and blame them, instead of taking responsibility for what we do.

Anger, judging another person, violent behavior, insecurity, needing to put another person down in order to feel you are correct, is all based in fear. Fear creates a separation between you and others and your direct contact to Allah. Allah is everywhere including within you and all other people. If you hate another person in a sense you hate Allah.

If you come from fear or doubt, if you judge and do not accept the differences between yourself and others, if you close your eyes and heart to love, then you are not a believer. What I mean by that is if you had total faith you would never worry or be judgmental of another person, but instead remember that Allah will guide you through your life, and would provide for you what you need in life. Faith is like armor, it protects you from anyone or anything that could cause harm. True Faith is a peaceful place in your heart not a worrisome or angry place.

If you truly believed one hundred percent then you would be able to see that Allah is in all people, and that everyone is your family. What other people look like, how they express themselves the choices they make are individual to each person. After all we were each given free will by our Creator. Love allows for the differences between people.

Suggestions can be made to assist another person to live their life in a better way, but the ultimate choice to change must come from the individual person. If they do not choose to change, then they are to be left alone and allowed to live their life as they will (free will). It is between the Creator and each individual person as to the outcome of their life, and no other person is allowed to take away another’s free will. Just because a person does not accept your suggestions to change does not mean you have the right to kill them.

Different religions happened because different people needed different ways to make the connection that there is a God or Allah in the first place. The basis of most religions is love. Most of the different practices that each religious group expresses are wonderful, because all paths to God or Allah are honorable. If God or Allah created no two things alike on this planet, wouldn’t it make sense that God or Allah would have diversity as to how mankind celebrated their connection with him?

I do not believe Death to Infidels means that people who do not believe in Allah as you do should physically die. I believe that when anyone, regardless of their religious practices, does not have complete faith with an open loving heart is no longer fully connected to their Creator, and at that time in a sense are spiritually dead. Again the death is spiritual, not physical and it happens to any individual when they put their mind or heart anywhere other than faith in Allah/God and love for everyone.

Even a true Muslim can loose their faith when they allow fear, worry, anger, or a judgment of any kind to enter their mind and heart and in that moment, in that instant, they are not a believer. The fear, worry, anger, or judgment they have is a demonstration of a lack of faith. Those kinds of behaviors and thinking processes disconnects them from Allah’s guidance, because it gets in the way of them being able to hear and feel the inspiration that Allah is trying to share with them to live their life to the fullest. Can you now see why even a devout Muslim can be an Infidel or non believer and in that moment a part of them is spirituality dead?

So that is what Death to Infidels means, and it is not for you to go around killing the others that Allah has created who worship differently then you do. To do that is to go against Allah, to go against love and it comes from judging another, needing to be in control, making yourself right and the other person wrong. It takes away the free will that was given to us by our creator.

A person in any moment can either put their mind on Allah/God, or they can put their mind in a place of worry, concern, or other kinds of fearful or hateful thinking. You can not be in two places at the same time; it is one or the other. When your mind is on Allah or God you feel safe and at peace and in joy, and know that everything will work out okay no matter what.

When your mind is in a fearful or vengeful place, you feel upset, worry, and you can become frustrated or angry. Pointing your finger at someone else, and blaming them for what is not working in your life shows a lack of trust in Allah. When we blame someone else for what we feel, we have given the other person power over us, instead of Allah having power over us. We allowed their actions or words to affect our feelings, instead of us deciding what to feel for our self.

Every experience that we have is there to assist us to understand ourselves better and to remember to have faith in Allah/God. No matter what is happening by having faith you will remain calm and you will be open to know what Allah wants you to do to resolve your challenge, and to live a wonderful life. Each experience in life is a test. The test is to see if you will remain in a peaceful place and keep your heart open to love for yourself and all people, no matter what is happening, and follow Allah’s guidance. That’s what all the world’s masters were able to do. True faith is an inner wisdom that assists you to pass through the challenges life brings to you, and not allow those challenges to consume you as you experience your life.

I’ve said the concept several different ways because I am hoping that it allows you as a Muslim, or whatever your religion to consider the interpretation of Death to Infidels in a new way. Death to Infidels is not one of killing a person who does not believe as you do, again it is a spiritual death or disconnect. All a person needs to do to reconnect is to have faith and to open their heart to love for them self and mankind.

To those of you that have been told that if you die a martyr you will go to Heaven and you will and have many virgins, great gifts and great rewards, have no idea of what it is really like there. I hate to disappoint you, but when you no longer have a physical body you no longer eat, sleep, or have sex, after all you have no body any longer. Ask any of your people who have died and have been brought back to life. They will say that people can look like they did on Earth, or they can appear as a wisp of light energy. When Souls meet up with each other in Heaven they can reveal to one another what they looked like in a lifetime they had together on Earth, or they can remain pure energy. When we leave our body we are not solid as we are on Earth.

When your physical body dies, your Spirit lives on and you go back from whence you came, you go back to your Creator. When you leave this Earth like the rest of us, you will go over your life experiences with your Creator, and review your life on Earth. You will discover through that experience what kinds of choices you made, and the end result of those choices, and how they affected your life.

If you inflicted pain and suffering on another you are given the opportunity to feel what they felt in the moment you did what you did to them. This is not done as a punishment, but instead to teach you what it feels like to be on the other side of the situation. The reason is for you to learn compassion and non-judgment so you might eventually learn to love yourself completely, and to love all others as well, while inhabiting a physical body. You will also see and feel all the experiences you had that you allowed yourself to love and be loved.

There is a book called Journey of Souls that is based on interviews a Doctor had with his patients. Under hypnosis the patients were taken back to the moment of death in their past life. They were asked what they experienced when they left their body and where they went and what they experienced between lifetimes. This book gives a great deal of information as to what happens to us between lifetimes and it allows us to read story after story from the other side.

My dear beautiful Soul who practices the faith of a Muslim believing in Death to Infidels, Allah made you out of love and desired you to love as he does, not hate. Why would Allah hate its creation?

I would like to say that the remaining three quarters of the Muslim faith that practice in a loving way towards themselves and others, have been challenged by what the radicals of the faith do. They should not be lumped together with the people of the faith who are Terrorists. Is it possible for the remaining three quarters of your people who have love in their hearts for mankind, to create a movement to put an end to the Clerics who poison the hearts and minds of people, and encourage them to kill in the name of Allah? By doing nothing and ignoring them, you are giving them permission to take over and become the ruling force. This action can take place in a peaceful manner just as Gandhi was able to create change in India. Remember violence begets
