AUTHORS NOTE
The touch of nature; the natural instinct,
disposition or sensitivity to nature and natural
operations. These have been an ever present attribute
so obvious in my person.
The mountains, the hills, the quietness of the woods,
The tranquility and enchantment of the so-called
wild woods, have been a source of ecstatic revelry
to me.
The sound of silence
as the title for this work is
a direct expression of my deep interaction and
communion with nature.
Nature in its use here of course, refers to these
natural elements, the sun, the moon, the trees, and
grasses, the mountains and the hills, the rivers and
the oceans.
Man, the head of all creation and the most rebellious,
sounds a discordant note in the symphony of God’s
‘Organic composition,’ hence
"An awful bankruptcy is so obvious
with us
which by deliberate blindness
we zealously enforce"
And
"How much troubles
With us
