    Renee Herrin Rogers lives in North Carolina with her husband, Warren, and their three children, Brad, Josh, and Jessie.  A Pfeiffer University graduate, she received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and is the director of Decision Support Services at an area hospital.  Renee asked for a home at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church when she was nine years old and has cherished the privilege of worshipping there all of her life.

      This book was originally made to share my heart with my children, Brad, Josh, and Jessie in hopes that it would encourage and strengthen their walk with Christ both now and in the future. After making a home-grown version of the book, friends and family encouraged me to publish it to share with others as well. To my children and to you, I pray that this book will strengthen your walk with God and bring you joy, but most of all I pray that it will glorify our Lord.

      I have always loved to write, loved to take pictures, and loved my Savior. The three of those came together in this book.

      Through the years I have mostly taken pictures of family and friends. Yes, that’s me, the one who shows up at every family gathering with a camera, and has every family vacation in pictures… snapshots of happy faces at life’s events.

      On July 30, 2009, an event occurred that moved me deeply. From that moment, I have seen the world through new eyes. The beauty of nature ~ God’s creation ~ came alive to me. Normal, everyday things became radiant. The ordinary became extraordinary. I began to see things I had never even noticed.

      I had never been smitten with the beauty of a flower, and had never sat in wonderment as a bug crawled on a blade of grass. I had never stood in complete awe of the sky, or noticed how a raindrop magnifies the color of a rose. I had never noticed how the earth begins to awaken before the sun appears on the horizon. I began walking around in a daze, as if in a beautiful new world, while God’s handiwork danced around me.
