Dolly J. Rodríguez

Dolly J. Rodriguez' only purpose is to be an instrument for the aggrandizement of God's kingdom. In her journey with the Lord since 1990, where she acknowledged Him as the only Lord and Savior of her life in Paris (France), she noted that every day has been a process of transformation in every area of her life. She first gave up being a therapist more than ten years ago, refusing to continue doing secular work, testifying that the only therapist par excellence is our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the one who frees and heals. She delved into theological studies to learn more about the ways of the Lord, thus taking her first steps into the Church of Christ in Rome (Italy). She then travelled back to her land of birth, Bogotá, Colombia where the Lord begat in her soul the call to become part of “Llevando una luz” ministry. She began working full time in her church before the Lord brought her to New Jersey (USA) as a missionary. It was in this new place where she met her husband in 2001. Out of their love was born a son, Mishael, a beautiful fruit sent by God. Mishael is now seven years old. In 2006, her husband, Misael, parted with the Lord. This marked the beginning of a new stage in her life - a new challenge: walking with her son, hand in hand with the Lord. She confesses that all the glory and honor is for the Lord, and that she would never be alone for she has seen His hand in every detail and in every need. The Lord has been her husband, comforter, healer, and provider - for her and her son. All that the Lord has done was with a purpose - even those which she did understand. Never did He abandon them; on the contrary, the Lord has been elevating her to heights that she did not even dream of. The doors of the media (radio and internet) opened to her where she lived - in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. She used her new tools of communication to allow “Llevando una luz” ministry to develop and reach out to nations. She is also associated with the Evangelical Churches of God as a minister, and worked with the Aposento Alto church in her city. The author currently attends Sunlight Community Church in Port Saint Lucie, and runs the Llevando Una Luz Christian Family Center in her city for four years now. The Lord has been using her to spread His word in a practical, simple and effective way, using lectures and seminars within the church, for the purpose of reaching out to souls who did not yet know Him. The author has written several articles and recorded audio, where she talked about reconciliation, restoration, and freedom - reminiscent of the words of Isaiah in chapter 61 verse 1 "The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners." The words that you read in "ESPECIALLY FOR YOU" are the results of her transformation process and her daily experiences of seeing the hand of God in every trial and every victory. Believe that THE LIVING WORD of the Lord transforms each person who opens his heart and allows God to mold him. The author prays that this word, embodied in this book, will be helpful to each reader in forging a more intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, thereby affirming his faith, a faith that is not affected by external circumstances, so as to fulfill the purpose which the Lord has designed for him.

Especially for You - Dolly J. Rodríguez

    Trust In His Promises

And only in the promises of the Lord.

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it?

Or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

    (Numbers 23:19)

The Lord has given you His promise and will fulfill it. Now is the time for you to cast out all doubt and fear. The Lord has promised to save you, deliver you, heal you, guide you, prosper you, and welcome you at this very moment. Why is it so difficult for us to believe the Lord?

Sometimes I wonder why it is easier for us to believe our own thoughts, our loved ones, or perhaps our friends, knowing that they will mostly fail us and leave us frustrated. Or perhaps, it is because we are used to ‘seeing is believing?’ We must take the decision to trust the word of the Lord and make it manifest in our lives. If He says He will, He really will. Take the decision to trust in His promises today and He will not leave you shamed.

    SAY THIS PRAYER:

Father, I renounce all that prevents Your promises from living within me. From now on, I will only trust Your word and promises. Thank you for always fulfilling Your promises. I pray that Your name be glorified in me, in the name of Jesus. Amen!

Listen to the voice of God

Learn to follow only the Lord.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

    (John 10:27)

We often wonder: what do I do to get out of this situation? Or what is the right choice for certain circumstances in life? We find ourselves not knowing which way to take.

The word of God teaches us that we must listen to the voice of the Lord, for He is our Good Shepherd and He is the only one who knows us and can lead us to act properly. We simply have to listen and follow Him. But for that, we must, before making any decision, seek Him, listen to Him, and have an intimate relationship with Him, praying and reading His word to learn how to hear his voice and invalidate any voice that does not come from the Lord.

Remember that there will be many voices similar to His, but we must be alert to distinguish only His voice, like a child who immediately recognizes the voice of his parents because of the intimate relationship he has with them. Thus, the Lord asks us to refine our hearing so that we can listen to Him.

    SAY THIS PRAYER:

Father, I ask you to help me listen to you, to not accept any other voice that does not come from you. From now on, I will refine my hearing, and I know that You will lead me to make the right decision for my life, in the name of Jesus. Amen!

    Receive strength

    Only through Jesus Christ.

I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

    (Philippians 4: 13)

How many times do repeat that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, but we look as if we are [and continue to be] helpless. We then end up discouraged and frustrated. We begin to see our circumstance as an insurmountable mountain before us, all because we do not really value what the word says. We speak of one thing, but we think of another.

The word says ALL, and that means all that is happening at this time without more or less. It says all. I CAN DO ALL IN CHRIST. It then says In Christ, meaning with Him, thinking and acting like Him, knowing that He knows us and He has gone through every circumstances that surround us. The name of the Lord is the name that is above every name which has already conquered them. Now, He wants to help us overcome them today. The word then says WHICH STRENGTHENS ME, meaning that it is He who strengthens us, helps us, and shows us the path to follow to help us get through. He can’t take our place for us. Remember that He has already done it. Now Christ Jesus wants us to get through our trials - thus He strengthens us to once again give glory to our Father.

    The Lord gives you victory.

    SAY THIS PRAYER:

Father, thank you for your son, Jesus Christ. Today, I will receive new strength through Him, to get where you want me to be. Please help me and strengthen me, in the name of Jesus. Amen!

    Start over again

Leave failure aside and begin with the Lord.

And Simon answering said to him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at your word I will let down the net.

    (Luke 5: 5)

Have you ever felt the desire of leaving everything behind and abandoning the endeavors you were doing? Perhaps it had all been failure after failure, and you could no longer stand the stress brought on to you and those around you.

Now I say to you, START OVER AGAIN. Perhaps everything had been a series of failures, but it is not the end. Do not put away your nets and do not wash them yet. Today, the Lord extends His hand and tells you: Put failure aside and come! Let down the net! Only you know which net the Lord wants you to cast. Cast it down, but not with your own strength, knowledge, money, or titles. He proposes that you cast it down only at His word. As Simon Peter responded: Nevertheless at your word I will let down the net.

    Look what happened.

AND WHEN THEY HAD THIS DONE, THEY ENCLOSED A GREAT MULTITUDE OF FISHES: AND THEIR NET BROKE.

    (Luke 5: 6)

That’s what the Lord wants for our lives - that we trust in His word and be filled with His blessings. Start today, but always take the hand of the Lord, with His word.

    SAY THIS PRAYER:

Father, I thank you for Your Word which strengthens me and helps me start anew. Today, at your word, I let down my net (say what you will start over again) and I will heave it full to glorify Your name and become a blessing to others, in the name of Jesus. Amen!

    Do not lean on your own understanding;

    Just lean on the Lord.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding.

    (Proverbs 3: 5)

If we only understood every word that the Lord tell us and put them into practice, we would have been spared from many losses. How many times have we come across this scripture? At least more than once, right? Yet we keep on falling over and over: (discouragement, anger, frustration, etc.) That’s because we only trust ourselves and in what we think or in what we believe. The result of such is nothing but grief. The Lord knows us to the point that he exhorts us to trust only Jehova, with all our heart - not just partially or with just our minds. We should trust Him with all our being and with all our heart, which makes our entire body function [since we cannot live without a heart.] He tells us to trust wholeheartedly and not to lean on our own understanding, as we always have hidden interests, which leads us to defeat.

Let us give thanks to the Lord for His word and His love for us, which helps us make things right.

    SAY THIS PRAYER:

Father, thank you for Your mercy and love for me. Forgive me for trusting myself first. I acknowledge that You are the way and the light. Guide me and keep me safe in Your hand, for in you alone I put my trust. In the name of Jesus. Amen!

Fear not, nothing will hurt you

The Lord will give you His power.

Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

    (Luke 10: 19)

In our journey as Christians, we often find stumbling blocks that look like snakes and scorpions. We then become anxious and afraid, or perhaps we get the desire to flee. However, the word tells us that the Lord has given us authority to trample on snakes and scorpions (problems from the most mundane to the most unexpected or very big problems). The Lord also tells us about all the power of the enemy and that we must act according to His word so that nothing will ever come to harm us.

We ought to know that if we act rightly according to His word, He will always support us and we will come out triumphant. But He also tells us in Luke 10: 20 that Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. From this, we can again see what the most important point - our salvation, and that the Lord has a place for us in eternal life.

Let us give thanks to the Lord for His help and encouragement, so that our inner selves won’t surface, thinking that we ourselves tread on snakes and scorpions. Glory be to God.

    SAY THIS PRAYER:

Father, thank you for helping me against all the attacks of the enemy, and for making me understand that without You, I am nothing. Thank you for having my name written in the book of heaven. In the name of Jesus. Amen!

    Do not be anxious!

    Everything has its time.

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.

    (Ecclesiastes 3: 1)

Yes! Everything has its time. Reflect a little: what makes you anxious or worried? Is it about having what you want? Perhaps you are exhausted or discouraged for failing to achieve that which you have worked for, what you tried so hard to achieve, what you have sacrificed sleep for, or cried over and over for and yet did not materialize. Perhaps we begin to blame the enemy, the people around us, the church, or perhaps the government - but even so, we become dissatisfied for not finding the real culprit.

The Lord, in His word, teaches us a very important phrase. EVERYTHING HAS ITS OWN TIME, ITS OWN HOUR! I encourage you to rest. As much as we want something, everything has its time and its hour. BUT REMEMBER, continue working and fighting for it. Just like a mother who, as much as she wants to have her baby in her arms, must wait 40 weeks in order for it to form and become perfect. For the glory of God, the word tells us: [it was] formed by our Father in the depths of the earth. Psalm 139: 13 and 16. The mother continues to feed it and care for it for she knows that her baby’s time and hour will come. So cheer up! Keep striving, and may the Lord give birth to what your heart yearns for, in its time and in its hour.

    SAY THIS PRAYER:

Father, I acknowledge that I have been anxious. I have been distressed by wanting to achieve (say what you have been working for) in a hurry. Today, I ask You to do it in Your own time and in Your own hour - not mine, for Your glory. In the name of Jesus. Amen!

    Tie down your thoughts

And take them to Jesus Christ.

Casting down argument, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

    (2 Cor. 10: 5)

The word of the Lord is always right, and if He tells us to demolish every argument (arrogant attitudes or ideas) and every high thing (Pride), that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, it is because He knows us and He knows situations that arise in which each of us, believing that we could obtain victory on our own, or perhaps that we can get along without God or with only some part of His word to suits us, are mistaken and that we could end with a fatal end. That is why He warned that we must cast down (tie down, leaving it without any right to say anything) every thought in obedience to Christ.

From now on, begin the process of transforming your mind, tying down every thought that goes against the Lord and Jesus Christ, knowing that through His precious blood, we are made new creatures. Therefore, we must change our way of thinking, thereby changing our environment and our lives and letting the Holy Spirit fulfill the purpose for which we were created.

    SAY THIS PRAYER:

Father, I cast down every thought that goes against You in obedience to Christ. Help me discern anything that does not come from You. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

I know that my redeemer lives

He has always been with me.

O LORD, there is none like you, neither is there any God beside you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

    (1 Chronicles 17: 20)

It is wonderful to be able to say, just like David, that there is none like God, and there is no God beside Him. David, amidst great disappointment, said this, even when the Lord told Him not to build a house for Him. The only thought in his mind was to exalt God’s name, be humble and be grateful. How would we react if the Lord tells us that a project of ours will not be realized, or if we cannot have what we’ve been yearning for? Instead, somebody else will do it in our place? It is very tough emotionally, but the word teaches us that we should give thanks in everything, for this is the will of God for us in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5: 18)

It is actually amidst trials that we can realize if we indeed believe in our one true God, and truly say that "I know that
