About this ebook
Author Don Steckdaub has taken concepts that have been discussed by philosophers, theologians, teachers, and thinkers as far back as we have recorded history. The power of thought is universally accepted as a creative force in molding our view of our internal and external worlds. We are encouraged through affirmations, constructive prayer, meditation, education, counseling, twelve-step programs to change the way we think about difficult areas in our lives. When we change our thinking, we change our experience.
This book will give readers a powerful, effective, proven, and simple way to change the experience they are having with any situation or circumstance. The model was first presented on videotape several years ago and has been used in the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction, codependency, anger management, marital issues, domestic violence, and parenting. This book will be helpful to anyone willing to take charge of their own life and reprogram their self-talk.

About the Author
Preface
For nearly forty years I have worked in the counseling field. During that time I have tasked myself to find a way to describe how individuals, couples, families and institutions, function well and how they dysfunction. I have read many books, studied many philosophies and religions, attended schools and seminars, talked with, and to, thousands of people. I have studied Twelve Step approaches, created a successful business, loved much, and married well.
This chip of a book is my attempt to impart what I have distilled from my life experiences both personally and professionally. I have a passion to share what I have learned and experienced in the hope that others might find the high road and be able to create a life they identify as good and rewarding.
I owe gratitude to many people. Everyone I have met has been a teacher. To name only a few is not fair, but necessary. Three people have had a profound influence on my thinking; Dr. Herbert Beierle, Dr. Albert Ellis, and Chuck
Chamberlin. Many more have given me ideas and challenged me to think. Among my best teachers have been my mother, my children, and my wife, Rita. I thank them all.
Special thanks are offered to my longtime friend and colleague, Claudia
