      On the Wings of the Ancestors

      Sharon Denise takes us on a poetic journey of heart and soul. She has written a work that invites us to share in her discoveries, blessings, pain and joy along the way.

      I first met Sharon early on in her path of poetic self-expression, even then I always admired her love and passion for powerfully connecting to the past. Her poems speak boldly and lovingly as well to her future generations… the young ones coming up behind her… and her tributes of love, honesty and wisdom are legacies for them to cherish and live by. She has found the art in this as well, that of being on the journey to becoming an ancestor, even while we are here, recognizing that we are part of a blessed continuum that will one day have us take our places alongside them.

      Sharon’s words encourage my dreams and yours and belief in yourself takes flight within her lilting passages. Her strength comes not just from drawing upon her own experiences, but from a profound faith in God and in the ancestors who now lovingly dwell in Heaven beside him. Reading Sharon’s poetry we see that there are times when she has felt alone in life. That is when she stands
