    CHAPTER ONE

    I’ve come to the Light

Now I am saved, what do I do now? This question is asked or thought by most new converts to Christianity. The most pervading fallacy is once saved, everything is hunky dory. But, the real fact of the matter is, your Christian journey of upheaval tumultuous spiritual and sometimes physical battles haven’t even gotten started yet. It was most fitting that Jesus would refer to our conversion as being born again—John 3:3. We couldn’t have had a better analogy; for it is truly a new birth; to awake, consciously, to a new style of living; a new style of thought, and a new style of believing—a new you.

As new converts, we are truly suppose to go through a conscious and psychological metamorphosis; thus, propelling our spirit man to come forth and acquire the purpose he was design to be; but, one of the most unfortunate things about us is that we are creatures of habit and imitation. We continue to do what we have seen others do, or what we have been subconsciously taught to do; which is the reason for a curse prevailing from one generation to another and to every succeeding generation until someone in that succession becomes born again and enters the ream of consciousness that the creator designed for us.

It is paramount that every human be born again, but to be born again is a choice. The born again experience is far deeper than just joining some church, or being a part of some religious organization. The New Birth is suppose to take one from the old and transform one into the New, or to more accurately describe it, to transform one back to his original purpose and make-up; man deviated from his purpose in the garden of Eden and has not been him Self since.

Many churches and religious establishments are failing because they have yet to realize the true essence of what being born again means, thus, we have churches burdened and weighed by those who have not been born again even though they are members of the church—just coming to church doesn’t save you.

Everything is by choice. The Apostle Paul says in his letter to Ephesus that we are to choose to walk in the covenant Ephesians 4:23. You’ve got to choose to accept, choose to allow God to transform you, and yes, even choose to grow; that’s the reason why many believers, although saved, they are not very different from their old selves, and not so different from the non saved. Many sit upon the pews Sunday after Sunday broken, defeated, empty, and struggling with even the simplest of God’s revelations. They smile on the outside, but there is no true joy on the inside; so, we encounter the mean sometimes callous Christian—saved, but empty; saved, but defeated, saved, but feeling rejected. Sometimes, the problem is the spirit of man was saved, but the soul (his intellect, his mind) and body (his physical being) was not. This is the reason why Paul says for us as new converts to be renewed in the spirit of our minds Ephesians 4:23. You see, when we got saved, if our minds were already renewed. Paul wouldn’t have to suggest to us to be renewed. He does that because it is a choice.

It is our earnest desire to bring some degree of clarity to the being a Christian. It is this desire that connects all the sentences, all the paragraphs, and all the thought process of this book. This is a quest from love, and a yearning to see my fellow believer raise their level of consciousness so as to hear their savior’s voice, and receive their rightful inheritance—as Jesus said in John 10:10 I come that you might have life and have it more abundantly. Christians have inherited an abundant life, but like most Wills and Testaments, you sometimes have to be aggressive in acquiring that which has been left to you.

You just got saved; you just received Christ into your life; you just made Jesus Lord of your life. The pivotal question that all new converts, and some of the old ones, are now asking is now what. It is our prayer that this book will answer the question that plagues young and old believers alike… . Now What?

God is continuously promoting us to higher levels in him, and taking us to new horizons in our daily spiritual walk. As you transcend from one promotion in him to another, you will become a better You. Maybe when you first got saved, you felt helpless, restless, undone, and powerless, but as we mature in Christ, we are suppose to elevate to higher heights even in our peace of mind; the things that use to bother us, shouldn’t bother us any more; you should be stronger this year than you were last year. When you become a better You, you become an asset to mankind, and a very real threat to Satan and all of his demons; you learn how to access heaven from earth, thereby, having heaven on earth. We’ve been taught wrong and neglected for so long until living the life of POWER that we’re suppose to live seems strange and foreign to us. Look what Jesus says to us in Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you. The Lord has already given us the power; we’ve just failed to walk in that power. We don’t even acknowledge the power that we have, and it’s partly because our teachers haven’t taught us; and it is probably because they were not taught; so the ignorance continues to spread until some of our leaders move into a higher level of consciousness and teach us how to use our inherited power, thereby Making a better ME and YOU.

    Psalms 23

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD; I SHALL NOT WANT

    HE MAKES ME TO LIE DOWN IN GREEN PASTURES;

HE LEADETH ME BESIDE THE STILL WATERS

HE RESTORES MY SOUL; HE LEADS ME IN THE PATHS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR HIS NAME’S SAKE.

YES, THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH

I WILL FEAR NO EVIL: FOR YOU ARE WITH ME; YOUR ROD AND YOUR STAFF THEY COMFORT ME.

YOU PREPARE A TABLE BEFORE ME IN THE PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES

YOU ANOINT MY HEAD WITH OIL; MY CUP RUNS OVER.

SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY SHALL FOLLOW ME ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE:

AND I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOR EVER

    CHAPTER TWO

    A sin problem repaired

You, as a living breathing creation of God, are the most phenomenal thing of all God’s creation. Look at how he made you; he took the dust of the earth and formed you. Dust, not just clay; dust is the residue of the clay. When one stumps their foot upon the clay, the micro particles that fly off the clay upon impact is the dust. God took those particles and made You. He made you in his image and after his likeness. You are a piece of God encapsulated by flesh. You cannot be replicated or duplicated. You are the first and the last of the crest of all of God’s creation. It is quite difficult for men to fully embrace who they really are; for it simply blows their mind. The devil does not want you to realize who you are. He does not mind if you go to church, shout, sang praises, and even have a good time in church; he just does not want you to fully realize who you are; for if ever you do that, then you become a force for which he cannot handle. Man is the glory of God enclosed by flesh; this is the reason why you cannot speak casually of anything, because just like God, your creator, your words are the producers of life—they can enhance, change, produce, make better, make worst, and even bring death. Jesus said that all things are possible for you, and nothing is impossible for you; you can speak a word, and move a mountain. Whatever you say, the angelic host of Heaven agrees with you. We fail only because we allowed ourselves to fail; we succeed because it is who we are. We are like babies who don’t fully realize who they are, so they shape for themselves something of a life that is far superficial to who they really are—thus operating in sin.

You see, sin it self, is simply actions that separate us from God, or to be put more simply, things that denounce who we are. Sin is anything outside of God. It is more than an act; it is a consequence because of an act; this is why man is born into sin—born separated from God. He has to be taught who he really is; the power that he possesses; the glory of his being, and who his creator is.

We are born sinners because of the actions of the first man—Adam; thus all that was born under Adam, were born separated (in sin). Adam was created. All men after Adam were born out of Adam during his state of sin (separation); this is why before we can get out of our sin state, we have to Repent—which means to go back to where you were, or where you have fallen from. When we break down the word Repent, we find two meanings: 1. Re—means to do over again 2. Pent—means top, or very upper level. Now, when we say that you must repent to be saved, we are saying that you have to go back to the top from where you fail. You cannot go back to some place that you have never been.

So, the very first step in becoming who you were designed to be is realizing that you are a sinner—you are separated from God, and walking in a consequence of Adams actions. When we deduce sin to just an act, we miss what sin is. Whether it is adultery, fornication, lying, stealing, or whatever, those are many of the actions that produce a sort of sin—separation from God.

One of the greatest misconceptions thrust upon new believers, as well as believers that have been saved for quite some time, is the doctrine of now you’re freed from sin. This thought is exaggerated and misunderstood from the book of the Epistle of 1 John. When John said this, he was not asserting to be totally free from sin, but rather, we don’t practice sin. We’re no longer a slave to sin. This is better illustrated in 1 John 1:8-10:

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Note, this passage of scripture covers past, present, and future sins. You were not perfect when you were unsaved and you certainly won’t become perfect after you get saved. It is a ploy of the devil to project the thought of you trying to be perfect because he knows that in this life, in this flesh, perfection is unattainable. So thus, he sets you up to fail, knowing full well that you cannot and will not, nor ever will attain perfection; this is why Jesus blood remains on the altar, and why the Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9:27:

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should by a castaway.

We must bring our body into control; for the flesh is weak. From a child, we’ve been taught to walk in our weaknesses; and appreciate our depreciated state; and the longer we remain in this state of depreciating weakness, the further we migrate away from our creator’s plan and purpose for our lives. Thus, we become out of fellowship with Jehovah, and where there is no fellowship, there is certainly reduced relationship; but still, we are not saying that we can be sin free, but rather to not practice sin, but fight our flesh at every turn. Our original design was to be just like God, and our children were to be taught to be like God also—it was our commission. But, life groomed our parents, and their parents, and every
