    Healing comes by faith.

The journey through illness is a faith walk. When that journey leads to a complete restoration of physical health, we are pleased. When it leads a person to salvation, God is pleased. In some cases, the journey leads to both.

    In this devotional, we will:

    • examine the role of faith in the healing process

    • explore the cause of disease and illness

    • discuss the healing power that resides in the Lord’s Goodness, Virtue, Love, and Touch

    • examine Five Traits shared by those who were healed by Christ

    • show how women and men of faith displayed these traits as they sought healing, and

    • discover what they did as a result of receiving healing.

The Five Traits of those who were healed are Faith … Humility … Importunity … Obedience … Ministry

    DAY 1

Women of Faith Journey to Wellness

Faith is total reliance upon God. It is based on tenacious conviction and belief in God. Despite evidence to the contrary or what appears on the surface, a Christian woman of faith believes in the power of God to accomplish His will on earth. When a woman’s will is aligned with the will of God, she can watch Him do the impossible on her behalf.

Faith, therefore, is more about a woman bringing her will into harmony with God’s will than it is an exercise whereby she can cajole and convince God to do something other than His perfect will. The Lord’s Prayer sums it up quite nicely, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. (Matthew 6:10).

The Bible discusses faith from many points of reference. We remember Peter’s lack of faith when he tried to walk on water as Christ had done. Through his lacking, we understand that our faith will fail when we depend on our own strength and take our eyes off of the Master.

Faith can be readily understood by reflecting upon the ministry of Christ as he healed and restored men and women of the Bible. Because of their belief in Him, they experienced the outpour of His goodness, His virtue, His love; and they were healed. In the healing process, each person who was healed by Christ demonstrated five traits: faith, humility, importunity, and obedience. Their response to Him was ministry.

While the primary focus of this devotional will be the women who were healed by Jesus, these five traits—Faith, Humility, Importunity, Obedience, and Ministry—were found in those who were healed, men and women, alike.

You will read about a woman whose strength was restored and others who were delivered from demons and infirmities, which included a curved spine, an issue of blood, high fever, and an unclean spirit. One woman was even raised from the dead. These accounts are found in the Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. We will make reference to all four of these books of the Bible in our discussion because sometimes one writer of the Gospel has included information or given a perspective that is not found in the other three books.

What miracle are you trusting God to perform in your life?

    Be sure to know that:
