About this ebook

Do something that works - Learn of Christ!

Take my yoke upon you, and LEARN OF ME; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall FIND REST unto your souls. (Matthew 11:29)

I have read this scripture many times. Just like many others, I have speed read over the bolded words every time. I rushed to read what Jesus promised - when I take His yoke upon me, rest will come to my soul. Isnt it wonderful that, all we have searched in our lives is so easily promised by Jesus Christ? But hold on a second! Not so fast! Lets see how in our own ways, we have searched for REST until now.
We have gone to Church without missing a day, placed our Bibles closer to our bed sides, being active in every Church activities and, giving offerings and tithes without missing a paycheck.
We have joined social, cultural and/or religious groups for supports. Also working very hard to save for the future, and taking multiple insurance plans for our lives, health, properties and jobs. In all these, we still couldnt find the much desired REST.

Well, is not every time you have to search if someone promises you will find!! This time, intelligence doesnt matter. Go back and read the verse again. Jesus said LEARN OF MEyou shall FIND REST.

Well, not until I began to meditate on this scripture actively, and realized that, we have a responsibility beyond what we are doing currently to FIND REST. We need to LEARN OF CHRIST.
He said LEARN, not lean. We have speed read LEARN always to mean, LEAN. I have done so many times myself. But no, just like many people, I had been wrong all along.

The rendering of Matthew 11:29 in the New Living Bible, is clearer.

Take my yoke upon you. LET ME TEACH YOU, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Christ wants to teach us how to find rest. Jesus said LET ME TEACH YOU. So after all, rest wasnt automatic as we lean on Christ. We have a responsibility to do something, just as Christ has a promise to meet. We are to LEARN, He is to teach us!

In this book, I have written how Christ taught me to REST. REST is found in two key principles FAITH and DIVINE LOVE. You will learn how, other wide ranging Christian principles are attached to FAITH and DIVINE LOVE. You will learn how to grow in both, and consequently attain REST in your own life. This book presents the HOW not the what. I write as a teacher, so that we can learn.

Through these teachings, I and my family have found rest. We now lived a sickness free, poverty free, and a victory conscious life. I have carried this life also, to others in my calling as a minister of God. Enjoy your read, and remain Blessed in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

    The True Story of…

Christ’s man and God’s children. Of them who find rest in the Lord while living on earth—Of all miracle workers, associates to eternity, and citizens of the Heavenly realm—Of those who have found the realm of resurrection, the true sons/daughters of the Father. Of those who cry in intimacy—ABBA FATHER, of all who walk in opulence. The revelation of ‘THE REALM OF REST’ on earth is your story.

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to my prayer partner, my ministry associate, my wife, and the mother of my prince and princess—Lum Yvonne Nganje. Her selfless sacrifice and respect of the Lord’s anointing in my life provided a good atmosphere for this revelation. And to my little-man Ekuba and my princess Ann-Estel.

    Fresh Creatures—Christ Consciousness

    2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new (FRESH) CREATURE: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

    Galatians 6:15

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new (FRESH) CREATURE.

    Galatians 5:6

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails anything, nor uncircumcision; BUT FAITH WHICH WORKS BY LOVE.

Notice that there is a realm where we perfectly acquire God’s nature. We carry this nature of God and make it evident in the world. Man becomes far above fear, doubts, fame, failures, sicknesses, poverty, diseases and all the fiery darts of the devil. We are upgraded to God-kind. This man has come to the full knowledge of his true nature, an expressed image of God. I have preferred to call that realm, THE REALM OF REST.

At the realm where we rest, there is no veil between the physical and the spiritual worlds. Faith and love are the inter-realm connectors.

At the realm where we rest, there is no veil between the physical and the spiritual worlds. Faith and love are the inter-realm connectors. In this realm, we walk in the class of God. We walk the realm of the miraculous. We have entered the realm of resurrection. Notice that, to walk with God, we must become like God. God is love and desire, faith to be pleased. Observe, therefore, that the key principles of this realm are faith and divine love. We can also call them kingdom principles. The name that the Bible gives to men and women who have fully entered this realm is ‘NEW CREATURES’. The familiarity around this expression in charismatic circle always calls for insistent study. If you are referred to by a name, you must understand what it means, right?

The Greek word for ‘NEW’ is ‘Kainos’, pronounced as ‘kahee-nos.’ This word is similarly translated as ‘FRESH’ in English.

Considering the ignorance and abuse of this name, ‘FRESH’ would be more useful and meaningful to pass on the right message. There should be no problem using ‘NEW’, but we must be careful not to assume too much. We know that anything new, getting old sometime is an eventual outcome. But this shouldn’t be the case for those who walk the kind of God. There is, therefore, the need to recharge, renew and be revived frequently.

But observe that immediately after we accept Christ, the next task is to grow in Him. By accepting, we are introduced to Christ as the son of God. To get to God, we should grow to know Christ as Lord, High Priest, Intercessor and King. To know Christ as savior is good, but it fades out gradually as Christ gets to the throne of God where He sits today. The cross gives way to the throne. Salvation came from the cross, but victory and triumph is on the throne.

Salvation came from the cross, but victory and triumph is on the throne.

I figured it would have made more of an impression on our Christian growth if we were called ‘FRESH’ Creatures. ‘FRESH’ comes with a reminder and the need to water ourselves, take away the weeds around us and pay more attention to growing fresher in Christ. To keep fresh is to reflect God in all His forms. God can’t get any darkness around Him because He is at rest. We need to freshen up if we must have a good rest with the Father. Freshness should be continuous if we must have a good rest with God. New creatures rest with God through Christ. When you are in Christ, you get the freshness you need to rest with God. We can now boldly confess that:

    2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a FRESH CREATURE: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Some Christians claim to be born again a long time ago. That sounds like there is an older new creature. But we know that, in Christ, the philosophy of getting old is on exile. It does not make sense to be an older new creature. Old things, including older new creatures, are passed away. The new creature is not Church going; it is not the size of your Bible, or your post in Christ’s ministry. It is to be in Christ and remain fresh in Him. Nothing gives us a chance to rest with God except being in Christ. Christ is the entrance to THE REALM OF REST. He is the master of the resurrection realm. He is the first walker on miracle lane. The new creature is an identity that never changes. Once you are born again, you can’t be born again a second time. You are born again once and that is all. As we refresh, we consummate our new creature identity every day (2 Corinthians 4:16).

The new creature man is the implication of the great commission. Go ye therefore and MAKE Disciples of Christ (Matthew 28:19). We are recruited into a fellowship that requires freshness to act. Our freshness is from Christ through the ministry of the Holy Ghost today.

Notice that ‘MAKE’ is a process with many stages of development. ‘Of Christ’ lays focus on the Spirit, not the flesh. We can’t be of Christ in the body. Disciple making is a spiritual call that needs spiritual growth. We can’t afford to stay on one spot. We are invited for harvest, a job that comes with rest and plenty.

Let’s refer back to our main texts. In Christ, we become fresh creatures. Can you see that it is in Christ, not of us or in us? As you become more in Christ, you become fresher. Christ consciousness makes us fresher. This consciousness consolidates our place in THE REALM OF REST. I haven’t seen one person who came to Christ and did not get rest. His glory shines on you. Christ’s light is your light, His glory is yours.

    2 Corinthians 3:17-18

17Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.

Christ consciousness brings rest. Jesus throws an invitation to anyone who can get it. He said, Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).

Notice that rest is a three dimensional thing: spiritual, physical and material. Spiritual rest is the first that Christ provisioned for.

Notice that rest is a three dimensional thing: spiritual, physical and material. Spiritual rest is the first that Christ provisioned for. Without rest in the spirit, the soul and body can’t rest. Let’s look at the scripture below.

    2 Peter 1:2-3

2GRACE AND PEACE BE MULTIPLIED unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3According AS HIS DIVINE POWER HATH GIVEN UNTO US ALL THINGS THAT PERTAIN UNTO LIFE AND GODLINESS, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.

Grace and peace can be multiplied. I not only believe that, I know it. Isn’t
