Holly the Multi-Colored Girl is a story about a girl who doesn't fit in because of the way she looks. Holly is ignored by her classmates because she is different, but, when Holly rescues Violet, the children learn that we're all the same inside no matter how different we may look on the outside.
Holly, therefore, is a children's story told in simple terms that children can understand about how foolish it is to judge people by the color of their skin rather than the content of their character.
