Author’s Comments:
As I have journeyed through this life, I have come to many conclusions. With emotions, trials, ups and downs, I’ve realized that we all are pretty much the same. What makes us different are the choices we make. Other than our up-bringing, which has a major impact, we all make decisions each and everyday that makes us who we are. Just like me, you too have a choice.
Within these pages, I hope you find something that will change your life. Through my trials, I have experienced some of the things that you maybe going through now. Without that, I would not have been able to write these words down. In this book, and through God’s Word, I give you, A Message of Hope.
Dedications
First and foremost, I would like to thank God for helping me write this book. He has inspired and motivated me through the entire experience. Without Him changing me to who I am today, none of this would be possible. To my wife, who I have been with since we were seventeen years old, I love you and thank you for always being there through all the seasons of our marriage. To my daughter, who has brought nothing but joy to my life, and who is my true inspiration. To my father whose words will forever be in my mind. To my father in law, who has been my mentor for a lot of years, and has taught me a lot in what I know. To my mom who has been proud of all I’ve done, and has always thought I could do anything. To my step-mom who has been an ear to listen to everything I’ve ever said. Thank you for always being there when I needed you. To my childhood best friend, thank you for giving me wonderful memories that will live forever in my heart.
I would like to dedicate this book to everyone who has been apart of my life-you know who you are. All of you who surround me day in and day out, you truly are the people that have made this happen. Without you, I wouldn’t have the experience in knowing what I know. Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you all.
In the Beginning
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
(Gen. 1:1) KJV
What is a better way to start a book than to begin it with the Word of God? Just like in our lives, it too has a beginning. We all start at zero. The Lord created us and with a purpose in mind. When God created the heaven and the earth, there was a plan. Whether you think you have a purpose or not, I hope through the course of this book I can prove and demonstrate the power and will of God in your life that you too are here for a reason.
In our lives, where do things go wrong? Why do we fall? Why do we sin? Why do we make mistakes? I can tell you why. It all started In the Beginning
. After God created the heaven and the earth, there was a man who was also created. His name was Adam. Genesis 2:18 states, And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.
(KJV) so Eve was created. The tree of knowledge, between good and evil, was presented by God to them. Of course, as we all know, they both ate of the tree and their eyes were opened to sin. (For more detailed information on this story read Genesis chapters 1-3 KJV). Since this time, we all have had a sinful nature. We are born into sin. As Mary Pickford, the silent movie star once said, What we call failure is not the falling down, but the staying down.
In this life things will happen, but what we have to realize is that we have a choice. Just like Adam and Eve did. Are we always going to do the right thing? Of coarse not. It’s through our mistakes-the wrong choices-that we learn our life lessons. This is what makes us who we are. It builds our characters.
I don’t know where you are, but I do know that in your life, just like mine and everyone else’s, there was a beginning. Some people think that because they have done so many things wrong, they can’t start over. The truth is that they can. Where you are, whether it’s with God or not with him, everything is a state of mind. What you need is to start from the beginning. I know what your next question is, how do I do that? You need to
