    About the Author

    Dedication

This is a book for every soldier of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, our warriors in transition, all soldiers worldwide in conflict and during humanitarian operations, and those who are at home. I pray for every family member. This book is for all soldiers that are United States of America heroes, who have served unselfishly and have given their lives as an ultimate sacrifice for freedom. This book is for those who have stood guard and those who continue to stand watch and guard on all fronts of war for this nation and in support of all people, foreign and domestic, for freedom. They have demonstrated courage, bravery, and heroism beyond expectations.

Soldiers are remarkable citizens and warriors who uphold our democracy and our way of life. I pray God’s blessings for all our soldiers in every branch of service, their families, and the United States Armed Forces. May God bless those who stand on every front to protect world freedom and liberty as we know it and expect. Our prayers go out to all families of our fallen comrades. Our prayers go out to every soldier who has survived wars and has injuries as a result. May the Lord be with you and comfort you in every way that only the mighty and loving Lord Jesus Christ can do. I pray that He keeps you in His perfect will. I pray that our Lord Jesus Christ’s compassion rests upon every soldier and his or her family. I pray that God watches over all of them and keeps their souls in the palm of His hand. May He grant us peace during the toughest time of war, battles, conflicts, and any measure of extreme violence and terrorism. I pray for peace in every sanctuary and that God would bless us on every battlefield. May the prayers of the church, God’s saints, and the power of the Holy Spirit keep us near Him.

What is prey? Prey is anyone or anything that is hunted down with the intent to destroy, devour, or kill. A predator is someone or something that hunts its prey by force. Prey is something that is eaten or consumed by a big animal; a lion in its habitat is the predator. We often see on Discovery channel the lion chasing food to eat. Sheep are prey for a hungry wolf or lion. In church it is similar. Satan preys on people in the church. The people are sheep who belong to God. He places an under-shepherd to preach the gospel, pray, and watch over souls in that church. The scripture declares that the enemy goes about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. He seeks to devour Christians to destroy relationships and the church. That is why you see so many people falling away from the church.

God wants His people to remain faithful to Jesus Christ until He comes. When they come back, it is because of Jesus Christ. Once they recognize the love of Jesus, they will remain in Jesus. Jesus Christ is our Shepherd, to protect us from being eaten alive. Our prayer lives help us. We must have a constant connection through prayer, speaking to Jesus Christ.

    Introduction

This book consists of prayers that will help everyone throughout the United States military, civilians in all nations throughout the world, and those who desire to have a closer relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Please understand that through prayer, everyone who calls on the name of Jesus Christ can receive healing and comfort by His tender love, grace, and mercy. His mercies are renewed every day.

There are many people who experience a relationship with God Almighty during family crisis, conflict, war, famine, natural disasters and many other times. He desires that we seek Him not just during those times of need but at any time in our lives. His arms are always open to catch us and hold us as His personal children. He cares for us. God is always there with you. Leaders and all soldiers desiring a relationship must ask God to enter into their lives. There is no greater joy on earth than to know God and have a relationship with Him. Prayer is communicating with God. Your intimate time with Him is your own special time for a breakthrough by Him. Soldiers desiring our Lord to help in time of desperation will be filled with joy unspeakable. These moments with the Lord will enable soldiers and friends to spend quiet meditations with our Lord and Savior in prayer and supplications.

Prayer changes things in our lives. His word says that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availed much. These prayers are a means of acknowledging our Lord in many ways. This will enable soldiers throughout the world in every branch of military service men, women, and children to remain connected to our Lord. This book will enlighten the hearts of Christian men and women, children of God around the world. These scriptures will allow you to be spiritually inclined in relationship and worship. These daily prayers will help you in your walks with God Almighty. Your life will be more productive than ever before. You ears shall hear God, and He shall hear you.

Your communication with the Lord will never be the same. It will give you a sense of how to defeat the enemy in Jesus Christ when situations arise daily. You will learn to deal with the drama, hurt, sadness, and difficulties that life often deals you. You will learn to have a better relationship with our almighty God in the midst of the enemy’s attacks and his desperate attempts to destroy us.

The Lord our God has many ways of helping His children when you have been born again. He helps all who call on Him. He has even proven His love for those who have rejected Him. Nevertheless, we who are followers have to remember that we are in the world but not of the world anymore. Do not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is not ashamed of you. His dealings are certainly His ways and not man’s ways. He said, Come unto me all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke. God tells us in scripture to cast your cares upon me. God is the God of the living. He sent His only begotten Son that we may have life everlasting. He also sent His Son to give us the abundant life. There are benefits and blessings that enable every one of us to reach our destiny for the glory of God. So whoever you are, do not stop praying. God will deliver you from that situation. In the book of James (5:16), He says, The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

    Adapt and Overcome

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. (Exodus 14:21 KJV)

Lord, thank you for using Moses as an example to manifest your power. You used him to set the children of Israel free from Egypt’s bondage under Pharaoh’s charge.

Lord, you have blessed me in so many situations dealing with bondage. Nevertheless, I still need you to help me adapt and overcome challenges ahead, including those that have risen today. I pray for the kind of faith and power that you gave Moses when he found himself challenged between Pharaoh’s army and the Red Sea.

Your word says, Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. It was victory at that moment for the people. He adapted to the wilderness as he led God’s people out of bondage through the Red Sea. Father, thank you for helping me adapt to life’s challenges in combat and at home.

You have parted so many Red Seas in my life. You made a way out of no way when it appeared that I was trapped in wrong relationships. You helped me overcome the most difficult challenges and struggles that I had to face in this life. When death confronted me with a near miss of a rocket-propelled grenade, you protected me and kept me. When my vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device, and team members and friends became casualties, you were there to comfort me. You took me through my battlefield experiences. You even kept me through my military career. You kept my enemies at a distance.

I pray that you keep a hedge about my family, friends and fellow soldiers. I pray for those who do not know the power of your deliverance. Much like Moses, Jesus’s disciples learned to adapt to circumstances but also overcame many obstacles. They believed in our risen King and Lord Jesus and wrote the word of God under Jesus’s authority. Lord, I believe in your word and trust it to be the truth, way, and life that inspires life-changing decisions for all people. Father, be with me as I go about to tell of your goodness and mercy. In Jesus’s name, amen.

Thus Israel saw the great work which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and believe the Lord and his servant Moses. (Exodus 14:31)

My Faith in God: God knew Moses’s faith before he lifted up the staff. Because of his faith and his people, God parted the Red Sea. Have faith in God when the enemy is after you and you don’t know what to do. Act on your faith the way Moses did.

    Confess and believe!

Today, I will commit to being adopted by you, Lord Jesus. I believe that you own me and that nothing shall pluck me out of your hands because you are my heavenly Father. You said that you will never leave me nor forsake me.

    Adoption

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, Abba, Father. (Romans 8:15 NLT)

Abba, Father, thank you that I am no longer a fearful slave in this life to my enemies. Thank you that I am not adopted by the devices of Satan. Nor am I adopted in Spirit by Satan and his demonic forces.

The word Abba is an Aramaic word that
