About this ebook

"You haven't seen Tralse's website today." She said it as a statement, not a question.

Without saying another word—apparently there were none to explain the coming horror—Robin surfed over to Tralse's website. Aside from having posted videos from the concert last night of their new song, Kyle had posted a new blog.

"Ten reasons why Virgin Val sucks?" I screeched.

A couple walking past the store looked up, startled, so I bit my tongue to keep from spouting profanities of my own.

I clicked on the blog. There was no way to make myself not click on it.

The Top Ten Reasons Why Virgin Val Sucks
10. She called me a one-hit-wonder.
9. She doesn't appreciate the endearing nickname I gave her.
8. She makes me write stupid blogs about her at four in the morning.
7. She's encouraging people not to have sex.
6. She blew me off when I asked her out.
5. She has a crush on a douche bag.
4. She won't answer any of my calls.
3. She's such a tease with her look-but-don't-touch policy.
2. I played a whole effing concert just for her and she didn't come even though she told me she would. (You're such a liar!)
And the #1 reason why Virgin Val sucks?
I still want her anyway.

A full minute of silence passed with me simply staring at the computer screen, blinking over and over, hoping that the next time my eyes closed the blog would disappear.
"It's actually very sweet…" Robin said. "If you think about it."
My jaw, which had already fallen slack, hit the floor as I gaped at her. "Sweet?" I choked on the word. "I'm going to KILL him!"

From the best selling YA romance author of The Avery Shaw Experiment comes a wildly funny and heart-melting rockstar romance. Kyle Hamilton is the quintessential bad boy, but Val Jensen is not your typical good girl.

When Val gets dumped for her decision to stay a virgin until marriage, the nasty breakup goes viral on YouTube, making her the latest internet sensation.

After days of ridicule from her peers, Val starts a school-wide campaign to rally support for her cause. She meant to make a statement, but she never dreamed the entire nation would get caught up in the controversy.

As if becoming nationally recognized as "Virgin Val" isn't enough, Val's already hectic life starts to spin wildly out of control when bad boy Kyle Hamilton, lead singer for the hit rock band Tralse, decides to take her abstinence as a personal challenge.

How can a girl stay true to herself when this year's Sexiest Man Alive is doing everything in his power to win her over?

V is for Virgin will have you laughing out loud, crying, falling in love, and desperate for More. Luckily it's part of a complete series. Look for the newly-released sequel, A is for Abstinence, told entirely from Kyle's point of view!

Due to copy and paste, formatting has been lost.V is for Virgin didn't make the huge impression on me that I thought it would. I did like it, but it left a little to be desired. To get things straight, I really liked the goal that Val was working towards-- a world where a girl wasn't afraid to be a virgin, or to be abstinent (and she didn't only have girls, there were boys too) without religious reasons. I thought that she was working to make something that was probably very embarrassing to her something good. Which was very selfless of her and all, and I really liked the idea, but I didn't think that the way it was handled was very realistic.Who knows, maybe I'll be proved wrong, but I think that Val would have been attacked a lot more than verbally. I'm sure that there would be physical attacks too. It's not a pretty thought, but just think about it. A self-professed virgin who becomes famous for being a virgin and supporting the right to be one, while selling lots of jewelry. Doesn't it just sound like she's setting herself up for something bad to happen? I can just imagine. We live in a twisted world. But back to Val. She was very sweet and kind, but I don't feel like I really got to know her throughout the book. She was really deep, I know that much, but who was she really? I wanted more development on her part, and I had hoped that she would be a stronger character, who I wouldn't doubt. But sometimes, I did doubt her.Just like I doubted Kyle. At first, he seemed like a really nice, if crude, guy. But as the story progressed, I realized how much of a jerk he could be. I did kind of thing that the blog was sweet, but I also realized how hurtful that must have been for Val, which sucked. Then, when I thought there was going to be a moment of truth and their relationship was going to turn around and be adorable, well, it turns out that Kyle is a huge disappointment in that department. I was lost to him from that point, I tell you.The storyline was okay, but I wasn't exactly wowed at how it went, unfortunately. It didn't progress very well, and I really don't think that it went anywhere to speak of, except to the end. Which the ending was cute, but still. I was disappointed in the way things went. It gets three stars for enjoyable reading, though.

What a delightful tale! Kelly Oram has once again "blown" her audience away, with her new -very prevalent - series beginning with 'V is for Virgin'!Valerie was adopted by a very wonderful couple who loved her as their own. The only tokens she had from her birth mother was a necklace with her initial V on it she wore around her neck and a very worn letter. In her senior year of high school she felt she was truly in love with Zack After a dreadful date when they had "the Talk" everything changed. Vicious rumors arose at school. Her peers were unmerciful. Finally, during lunch, she could take it no more and did the unthinkable! From that point on her whole life spun out of control. Her best friend, Cara, was her one true confidant and could always seem to make situations better. As best friends,, they balanced each other out, although very different in their goals and personalities. They worked together on the student council. Planning their annual school festival, Cara made certain they were put over the music. With her connections, she got her and Valerie backstage passes to try to persuade the popular band to play for their school function. As Valerie predicted, the band's leader, Zack" simply laughed at them after making some crude comments at Valerie...Valerie retorted back and left, having stated her mind.Impressed, Zack became determined to persuade and conquer. This is about the ups and downs of High School life and a few of the pressures the youth feel. It encourages youth to discover who they really are, then take a stand for what they believe.Because of some crude terms, I would not recommend this for younger YA. However, for older teens and older, it os great. The characters were diverse and very real. The accompanying situation were well described and easily pictured. The ending is complete, yet, leads smoothly into the next sequel. The cover is simple, eye-catching and well-developed. The title says is all.I give it a Four and a Half Stars rating.*This was sent as an e-book for an honest review, of which I have given.

Val is a diamond in the rough. She made the decision years ago that she would remain a virgin until she married. This was prompted by the letter from her birth mother. Her birth mother had her at age 16 and was unsure of who her father was. She gave up her baby girl to give her a better life. Val was determined that she wouldn't make the same mistake. The book begins while Val is on a date with her boyfriend. They are alone at his home and he believes that it will lead to something more. When she declines, he promptly dumps her and does his best to ruin her reputation. In a moment of anger she lets loose in the school cafeteria, proclaiming her virginity and adds a few insults in for good measure. Her scene goes viral and she is caught up in a vortex of events. Her decision is challenged on many levels. There is the ridicule of her classmates. She is introduced a local rock hero and he takes decides to make it his personal goal to obliterate her goal. She soon becomes national news and becomes a spokesperson for teens struggling with this issue. This book deals with a very sensitive subject. I found it to be a very interesting theme. I would love to give Kelly Oram a hand for the way she handled a controversial subject. I love the idea of writing about a group of teens who decide to abstain until marriage. There is so much pressure on teens to capitulate that I find it refreshing to have a book about the power there is in standing up for the right to choose, to not get into a sexual relationship that they may not be ready for.The book about sex. For that reason I would recommend it to an older teen reader, or to any teen who is struggling with this issue. I would not suggest this to a youth who is not mature enough for the message. I didn't find objectionable content.

Great book. I LOVED IT. The topic was original the character's are great. The story line and plot were entertaining. I LOVED the chemistry between Val and Kyle, I wanted way more from them but the ending left me wanting more. I wanted to know if they ended up together. I'm sure it's a given that they did but I like it confirmed and I love to read a little background on it too. All in all great book just wish the ending gave me more info. Very worth the read.

I decided to read "V if for Virgin" after I read "Cinder and Ella" by Kelly Oram because I LOVED that book. While I really enjoyed this one I can't say it overwhelmed me like "Cinder and Ella" did. I really loved how Val stuck to her beliefs and didn't back down after so much pressure from Kyle. The whole time I was reading it I kept thinking how horrible it would be for Val to give in to the pressure. I never really fell for Kyle. I thought he was a complete jerk for most of the book. If he was so smitten with Val then why didn't he respect her more?? I hate that he kept pushing himself on her all the time. I also didn't really like how things ended with her best friend Cara. I mean I completely understand that Cara did not respect her choices either and kept pushing but I found it ridiculous that they didn't talk for four years because of it. Cara should have tracked her down, apologized and made things right. Val did get a little in over her head and neglected her friend but these things happen when you start to grow up. I also wasn't too big a fan of how Val met her mother at the end. I wish it would have been done some way other than a talk show surprise.Overall I did enjoy the book and finished it fairly quickly. I have started to read "A is for Abstinence" in hopes that I will grow to like Kyle more and see how the story ends. Even though there were a few things I did not like about this book I would still recommend it.

I will admit that when I first heard the title I was a little scared. I mean this is a book for YA and right off they hit you with the V word – Virgin. So I was ecstatic that I not only loved the story but I found the message behind it all very relevant to today’s teens and what they are dealing with. When I was a teen (not too long ago of course) I was a member of the True Love Wait movement. So I really felt a connection to Val and how she dealt with her situation of speaking up about something a lot of people don’t agree with and even make fun of. Val is a strong female character and was able to hold her own against Kyle. This book has such a good message for teens and it is presented in a very entertaining way. I know my teen daughter will enjoy it when I give her a copy for Christmas.
