About this ebook

This book shares answers to why leaders fall and why people die young. It urges the church to adjust its thinking and methods for new converts. The beginning of a journey will influence the ending. We must start converts out correctly to see them stand firm and faithfully until the end. Hopefully, this book will help leaders to guide new believers in the right direction so that they can overcome in this life and in the one to come.

Paulette Givhan

Paulette J. Givhan is a retired government employee. She worked with the state and federal government for forty years. Paulette and her husband, Frank Givhan Jr., have been married for forty years. They have three adult children and six grandchildren. Paulette had an experience with God that prompted her to begin writing to make biblical principles easier to understand. God spoke to her on a Sunday morning in February 2008. He told her that she was to lead people to freedom by being a sojourner of the truth. She is the author of the book Your Money and the Church according to Scripture. The sojourn continues.

    FOREWORD

The Process of Overcoming is a set and marked booked for such a time as this. This book has been released not just for Christians in an infancy state, but it is for Christians that are wanting to continually progress in the state of being in Christ. Paulette Givhan has tapped into something that many leaders are feeling the pain of, but have not yet assumed the passion to address. In the everyday life of church and Christianity we see the falling, struggling and constant efforts of Christians desiring to get better, but not having a blueprint to lead and navigate them to a place of ultimate victory.

In The Process of Overcoming, the author, Paulette Givhan, steers through the scripture and brings illumination to the subject of overcoming. One line of passage that Elder Givhan states is Just remember that spiritual growth is continuous, this is something that at some point we all remember, but can easily forget. This book reminds you about the continual growth that is expected, but also the path thereby to overcome issues that may very well stunt the growth of the spirit to advance in the things of God. We must never deviate away from the process of becoming. Paulette journeys not to the condemnation of issues, but she takes you on a spiritual journey that brings you from being a victim of defeat to a responsible christian that can overcome.

One passage that began to sound off in my spirit is Hosea 6:3a Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: this is where generations have paused and lost their sense of Kingdom momentum and mobility. We have lost so many because they have not followed on to know The Lord. Generations have stopped, given up and lost their passion to live a life of holiness because they could not overcome their struggles within.

Elder Paulette Givhan once again opens up wells of aged oil that once again needs to flow to the Kingdom to bring the Body into proper alignment, healing and deliverance. May this book be used to wake up the power of holiness, righteousness, and righteous living that God is calling for in the end time. May those that felt as though they would drown in their issues and struggles find this book to be their life jacket to safety.

Elder Givhan, you have not only addressed overcoming, but you have allowed the Lord to bring apostolic guidance into a place of progressive victory.

    Introduction

The word overcome is the Greek word Nikao. It means to subdue, conquer, prevail, or get the victory. The book of Revelation makes promises for those who overcome. These are the promises that Jesus made to the seven churches.

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.

    Revelation 2 & 7 NKJV

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.

    Revelation 2 & 11 NKJV

"He who has an ear, let him hear what
