    No News Is Bad News is a fun filled comedy that takes place in Dimsum, North Dakota, a present day super suburb. The main character, Blaine Joseph Johnson Jr, who goes by BJ, is a 27 year old screw up reporter who cant seem to catch a break in life. He still lives at home with his alcoholic, divorcee mother who thinks she is still young, and his girlfriend who is a high school has been still hanging on to her teenage glory days. BJ and best friend Victor Patel, a 26-year-old aspiring Indian rapper, both work at local news station KWRC-TV. The news station is suffering from a lack of crime/activity in the town, as well as losing its beloved head anchor. The job opening provides an opportunity for BJ to finally make something of himself, so he makes up his mind that he must get the position. He assembles a crew of his friends, and they go around town committing non-violent crimes and pranks in order to boost his stock in the race for the position. His arch nemesis, Richard Fox, a narcissitic brown noser, assembles a team of his own and both crews go back and forth commiting similar crimes. This story provides entertainment in the forms of wit and outright comedy.

    Amara Thompson and Addis Daniel are both students at the University of Central Florida. Amara is a Nigerian, born in Los Angeles, but he was raised in Atlanta,Ga. Addis is of ethiopian descent. She was born in Atlanta, Ga, but raised in Land O'Lakes, Florida. Amara is a 23 year old senior pursuing his bachelor's degree in Psychology. In his time in college, he has played basketball for the University of Central Florida and Stetson University. He is currently pursuing his lifelong dream of playing professional basketball. Addis is a 21 year old senior as well, pursuing her bachelor's degree in Political Science. She is a freelance artist and entrepreneur as well as a writer.

      SCENE 1: OPENING SCENE

      BJ wakes up to an alarm clock going off that reads 6:30 am. As he is trying to adjust to being awake, he overhears loud music coming from down stairs. He groans and rolls over to wake up. He sees a bitchy note from his girlfriend. Crumples it up and throws it behind him.He begins getting ready for work, goes down stairs only to find his mom and her homosexual friends taking shots.

      BJ

      What the fuck mom?!

      MOM

      BJ!!! WE’RE ABOUT TO TAKE SHOTS!!!

      COME ON!!!

      BJ

      Seriously, mom I have to go to work, I don’t have time for this.

      MOM

      Stop being a little bitch. You sound like your father! Take the damn shot.

      BJ

      Why are you even up right now? What the hell did you do last night?

      MOM

      Who the fuck died and made you the Curfew Captain?! There will be no captains in this house unless his name is Morgan!

      Yells loudly with friends and takes shot.

      BJ

      AND WHO THE FUCK ARE THEY?!

      MOM

      Oh BJ! This is Josie . . . and this is. . .

      BJ

      Let me guess . . . The Pussy Cat

      SPANISH GAY GUY 2

      (winks at BJ)

      How’d you know?

      Everyone laughs, BJ gets grossed out.

      MOM

      OH! Delilah called, I couldn’t pick up . . . Me and Mr. Landrick were chunky dunking in the pool.

      BJ

      GROSS!! MR. Landrick MOM?! THAT GUY IS LIKE 85!

      MOM

      (bites lip)

      I can’t tell.

      BJ

      (screams)

      Mom!! LIKE REALLY! STOP!

      MOM

      (yells at BJ as he’s leaving)

      DON’T FORGET TO CALL DELILAH BACK!!

      SCENE 2: BJ’S DRIVEWAY

      Bj is getting into his car when he makes unwanted and awkward eye contact with his annoying neighbor.

      MR.SANFORD

      Good morning, Blaine!

      BJ

      Morning, Mr.Sanford.

      MR.SANFORD

      Quick question, are you guys ever gonna cut your lawn? I mean its a complete mess. And the value of this neighborhood will start to plummet!

      BJ

      I’m sure we’ll get around to it as soon as possible Mr.Sanford.

      MR.SANFORD

      I would hope so. Its slightly embarrassing. Its common courtesy to keep it up to par with the rest of the neighborhood. Just . . .

      BJ gets in his car, slams the door, and drives off as Mr.Sanford is talking.

      SCENE 3: PARKING LOT

      BJ pulls into parking lot and parks car. While still in the driver seat, he looks out the window and sees his boss, Mr. Bloomberg, getting out of his car. He simultaneously gets out of his car and looks longingly.

      BJ

      Good morning Mr. Bloomberg!

      MR. BLOOMBERG

      BJ.

      (nods head in confirmaton then looks at watch)

      You’re late.

      Mr. Bloomberg walks into office building.

      BJ

      (whispers)

      Shit! . . . .

      VICTOR

      That car is nice as shit isn’t it?

      BJ

      (jumps in shock)

      What the fuck, you are such a creep! And yes . . . it happens to be the car of my dreams. There are only 3 in the tri-county area.

      MOSES

      He’s not talking about Mr. Bloomberg’s douche mobile, he’s referring to my new ride. Swag right?!

      BJ

      (laughs)

      Ha! where did you get this?!

      VICTOR

      We straight robbed these fools! I bust down the door, pulled my strap out and told his ass to hit the dirt or feel this hurt! Pistol whipped his ass and snatched them keys. Like taking candy from a baby.

      BJ and Moses look at Victor like he’s an idiot.

      VICTOR

      What? It could’ve happened?

      BJ

      Victor if you did that you’d be all over the news. That’d be the biggest thing to happen here since ’99. Seriously
