Melvin Neal Edwards

My name is Melvin Neal Edwards. I am a new author/writer of children’s books. I was born on July 31, 1959, in New York City. I am the fifth child out of six. I lived in New York City for most of my life and have relocated to upstate New York since 1987. I am happily married with six children and one grandson. I worked for the New York State Department of Correctional Services for twenty-seven years. All my life I tried to keep out of trouble so I would not end up in jail, but I ended up there anyway. I have since retired, and I’m currently working as a school bus driver. It’s a great job. I love working with children. I am learning how to be a mentor in life and to be a positive role model to the young adults. I always inform the students when I am picking them up for school in the school bus, ladies first. The young female students love this. I also praise the young men for their cooperation. I truly hope you enjoy my books. Melvin Neal Edwards

Winter was over and spring time was finally here. One of the six baby eagle eggs in the nest was much larger than the other five. This baby eagle egg took up most of the room in the nest. Father Eagle said to Mother Eagle look how big this egg is! It is bigger than all of the other eggs in the nest. Mother Eagle replied I have never seen a baby eagle egg this big! I wonder if it is going to be a girl or a boy. Father Eagle said I know it is going to be a boy! Mother Eagle replied, I don’t know; it could be either a girl eagle or a boy eagle; we have to wait and see."

    Chapter 3
