Thoughts of a Growing Man - Christopher Braud

    Who’s Going to Remember?

As if to live today, why?

    Then tomorrow we die

Only in the afterlife to see how many people cry

Do we live for a while in the hearts of many

    Or for eternity

    In the hearts of few.

    The Sun/ One Day

    When you leave

    I’m darkened throughout the night

But, when you come again everyday

A jolt of excitement rushes through me

Blessed to feel the warmth of your touch

Showered with the glistening of your beauty

All to think that one day

I wont ever see you again.

    Dreaming of the Day

    Just dreaming of the day

Whenever me and a woman never astray

    Only to become one

    But until that’s done

    Strive to be better

Starting with life through a letter

    A letter to my pops

Pondering, hoping that our problems stop

Recalling a dream to see him grow old

As if to go through a tournament and never fold

Reconciling our differences with the best of wishes

And every Thanksgiving, he’s showered with platters and dishes

    Again dreaming of the day

To see my future kids play

Going through life without despiteful memories

Watching them as one day they become powerful entities.

    Two People, One Life

If only we could have this last

All sunny days with little overcast

But that’s ignorant of me, so long ago, not in my future,

    only in the past

When the days you were by my side

Now im alone, throughout these days I glide

Praying for a woman for my emotions I can confide

I was just transitioning into a phase

    Unexpectedly off in the gaze

Caught off guard by this sleek on the water walk

Smooth as lotion, I take this chance to talk

Like she was buried off in the ocean

Cause of death, romance was the potion

    Head over heels

Slowly into her heart like the cutting as an apple peels

My love in her core, I’m down on one knee

Seeing how love is, will you marry me.

If it were to only remain you and I

    Together as we fly

Our love soaring past moon and stars

Past everything, past money and cars

    My love at a
