    PREFACE

In part one of the Age of Icemen, we find that many of the Age of Icemen are transposed by a magical ball that was found by Ohnik, one of their leaders. As he is out on a hunting expedition, he sees a glowing ball that suddenly appear before him. He is reluctant at first to pick it up. He comes closer and studies it. It’s light is bright and nearly blinds him as it shines out of the brightness in the snow. It appears warm to him as steam is flowing up from the melting snow around it. It begins to move and he follows it into his favorite hunting cave. There he is joined by his son, Kuballar. They both stare in disbelief at this strange but fascinating object before them. Suddenly, a powerful urge comes over him and he can no longer resist this strange object. Ohnik slowly reaches down and places the glowing ball between both hands and picks it up. Strange forces that he has never experienced before start to go through his body. When the forces subside he hands the ball to his son and both are mesmerized and transformed into new and advanced beings.

They share this gift, the glowing ball, to some of their closest and trusted friends and hunting leaders. Their sons are also given the glowing ball and are transformed and mesmerized as well. These sons grow restless and venture out into no mans land. Some force seems to be compelling them to leave the ice fields and venture forth, beyond the ice packs of Feriandimal, and to find new and exciting lands.

Their adventure finds them both in perilous plights and lustrous paradises. They are so in awe and surprised by what they find that they quickly return and tell their fantastic story to their fathers and the hunting leaders.

Ohnik, the most respected of all leaders, is convinced that he must take his family to this land of paradise. He convinces thirty other families to follow him to this land of riches where food is for the picking and animals fill the hills for the waiting hunters. He is now convinced that the Glowing Ball of Knowledge has prophesied that he must journey to this land that he now calls the Promised Land.

The Adventurers lead the colony through perilous trails. Trails that even lead to injury and death. Some of the family leaders begin to have doubts and murmur about returning to Feriandimal. After many arguments between the leaders, they all eventually agree to follow the Adventurers to their final goal.

Trolldar, the wizard of the Mountain Trails, has been assigned to keep watch over them during their travels through the mountain trails. He intervenes in many cases to help these people find their way out of one peril after the other. Not until the Age of Icemen arrive at the Promised Land, can he relax and return to his regular duties in other parts of the galaxies.

PART TWO: THE COMING OF AGE

    ******* INTRODUCTION *******

The Age of Icemen have started a new life in a new surroundings. The life is so much easier and relaxing for them. They even find time to think and plan new ideas, something unheard of in Feriandimal. But the greater powers above them are not wholly satisfied with their progress of growth. Do-o-magnicent, still true to his oath, is sent to plant a second Glowing Ball of Knowledge to speed up their growth and development as a people. It is during this procedure that Do-o-magnicent is tempted but catches himself. Later, a second temptation presents itself to him, but this time he falls victim to the evil forces. Later, after being banished from the High Order of Wizards, stripped of his powers, and exiled to the galaxies of Outter Darkness. He regains his powers from the evil forces and returns to Dimensia 4. There, to get revenge, he schemes with the weaker leaders of Dimensia 4. His goal is to achieve power and eventually achieve dominance over the Universe.

Trolldar, who is the guardian and keeper of the Age of Icemen, is sent to stop and reverse Doomagnon’s evil plans and skullduggery. As we saw in book one and in the final books, he selects six Earthlings, called, the Mountain Trail Alliance to help him. They, in turn, use their influences and get help and aid from many leaders in high places. The world leaders deem this operation a top secret and name it Mystic 3 and form their own secret alliance. Because the fate of Earth and maybe the entire Universe, hangs on the success of this venture, Earth’s Mystic 3 Alliance and the leaders of Etuda-dorma combined their technology and resources in a plan to meet and destroy the evil forces.

Meanwhile, the Age of Icemen are living in peaceful naivete, unaware of the forces of good and evil that exists around them. They have already had a involved with these forces, as the evil forces come knocking at their door and controlling their lives.

With the reintroduction of the Glowing Ball of Knowledge, the people of Dimensia 4 no longer feel that their present name, Age of Icemen fits them. They decide to change it with a more fitting name. They parley in committee and decide on New Age People of Mittebyro. They advance, way beyond their expectations, but the forces of good and evil soon become apparent to them when Do-o-magnicent tempts the cave dwellers into killing the village people. They have many experiences with higher beings as they are visited by the wizards. They are misled by the transformation of the wizard’s transparency mode to a solid mode. They begin praying to the wizards instead of the Highest Being of the Universe. Trolldar corrects their misconception and sets their religious leaders on a correct course. A visiting wizard sees Do-o-magnicent commit his evil acts and reports back to Theasium. He is tried, convicted and dethroned. He is sent to the edge of Outer Darkness and ordered not to return, His name is changed to Doomagnon as proof of his shameful acts.

Straitona, a young and gifted hunter, foils Doomagnon’s evil plans. His new weapon and his advanced intellect is admired by the leaders and so, he is brought to the Glowing Ball of Knowledge. Straitona’s wisdom becomes even more acute as he decides the prisoner’s fate. Rather than death, he gives him a sentence of bondage. Gushga will devote his time to helping others and remembering his misdeeds for as long as he shall live.

Trolldar appears to them and foretells their fate that appears in the book three. He tells them that they will out grow their villages, find a new land where Mittebyro will flourish. He continues with, You will build a glorious city. It will have a central government, religious temples, and schools. You will have farms, orchards, and factories to grow and make products. Your government will discover fine gems that they will use to raise taxes. You will use them to exchange goods, support your churches, and schools. Doomagnon will then corrupt your leaders and divide your land into separate nations.

Later in our next books, Trolldar is sent to intervene in Doomagnon’s evil doings. He is sent to stop the acts of the evil forces, to right the wrongs of this social order, and to save Dimensia 4, and possibly Earth, and the entire Universe.

    CHAPTER ONE:

THE NEW AGE PEOPLE OF MITTEBYRO

The Age of Icemen were finally settled into their caves. Those that wanted a life style of community living, over single family seclusion, chose the larger caves that had many caverns and separate tunnels. They formed family groups and elected a family leader. But there were others who preferred privacy and sought to isolate themselves into a single family. There were enough smaller caves to accommodate them.

Hunting was much easier and pleasant. It became almost as easy as our modern day sport hunting. Hunting no longer became the highest priority as a vital necessity. The women and older men found many new herbs, nuts, berries, fruit, and roots to supplement their diet. Life settled down into a mostly pleasant setting.

Now, in their new land, Comptes and Navitona’s quest to revere and pray to the Greatness Above, grew even stronger. They were encouraging others in the colony to join them as well. They felt a strong and deep urge to do something more to show their faith. As they ventured through the colony, they saw that many in the colony were still grieving their loved ones that they lost on the journey. We can not leave these people to grieve like this, replied Comptes. So together they meditated on how to do something to honor their lost love ones, and to show tribute and respect to the higher forces that protected them during their journey to this new home.

Comptes and Navitona left the colony compound on regular occasions to journey up the trail to a secret opening in the woods that overlooked the colony below. They went there to be alone and to meditate. Because of this meditation, both their spiritual growth and convictions grew stronger. It was here that Comptes discovered the solution to their vexing problem. They were both in deep meditation, when Comptes suddenly lifted his head and spoke, My son, I have just found the answer we have been looking for and you have helped me solve my puzzle. Navitona quickly replied, What is it and how did I help? Comptes replied to his son, We will build a monument of stone that will represent our caring for our lost loved ones and give a lasting reverence that will show our honor to the Greatness Above. Father, replied Navitona, That is a great idea. And now his mind was clicking fast as he continued his dialog, Let us also gather all the people together when the monument is finished and dedicate it to all their loved ones and to the Greatness Above. Then we can teach and encourage them to come here and meditate and pray. Comptes looked surprised at first to his son’s quick and excellent thoughts. Then he said, Why yes, that will make our monument a lasting and special place.

They proclaimed to the community what they were about to do. They acquired a crew of men from Phil-cor and proceeded to clear a large circular area for the monuments location. They went to the site daily to plan exactly how it would look. They invited Kibling to help in its design for he had showed unusual creative talents. Kibling joined them on their daily planning sessions and contributed superb ideas in shape and material components. When they finished planning, Kibling chipped out the design on a stone wall for all to see. People went by daily admiring the work. Days went by and the three waited for the colony’s reactions. They seemed genuinely impressed, so the three gathered for a meeting to finalize and start to build the monument. In the meeting’s discussions, Kibling and Navitona spoke positive and were satisfied with the design, but Comptes spoke out and shared a concern he had with it, I must tell you that I feel something is missing here. Kibling then asked, Well, Comptes, we have many nuseas planning this and the community likes it, so I can’t see how there could be something missing. Comptes just sat for awhile and stared at the circle and finally answered, "I don’t know, I like the shape of it and what it stands for but, some how, there is a strong feeling inside me that keeps telling me there is something missing. I can not approve this monument until this feeling is satisfied. They continued talking on it for another day without any success. Kibling told Comptes that they would put it on hold until he got a break through as to what was missing.

It was about this time that Trolldar had returned to see how the colony was adapting to their new home when he stumbled on the three planner’s conversation. That night Trolldar floated into Comptes’s cave, hovered over him, and entered his dreams. As Comptes lay fast asleep, suddenly, there appeared a glowing light. In the light appeared an exact replica of their monument. Then, out of the earth, there arose a beautiful colored gem stone. It floated upwards and set itself, squarely on the top of the monument. Then Comptes heard a voice saying, Here ye! Here ye! I dedicate this stone in the honor of our dearest, lost hero, who gave his life to save us from the dragon. I therefore name this gem stone the Joncar Stone. It and all of these stones shall, hereby, be honored and treated as special commodity. These and all gem stones like them shall be shared and passed between all members of Mittebyro and no one person shall be allowed to hoard or destroy them.

Comptes jumped up startled, shook his head, and looked around to see if any one was there. He saw only his wife and children and they were sound asleep. Slowly he drifted off in a dreamless, pleasant sleep.

Comptes woke up early and announced to his son and Kibling that he had solved the missing part and to meet him at the monument site. Last night I had a dream. It was so real that I could even see the finished monument in it. He continued telling them of the glowing light and all the remaining details, and ended by saying, Yes and the dream even spoke to me and told me to dedicate and name the gem stone the Joncar Stone. The rest of the vocal commands he thought to save for another time.

Kibling and Navitona marveled at what a good idea this was and how it would set the monument up as having extra special value. Kibling, in particular, was extra pleased to hear his father would be give special honors for his sacrifice. Now satisfied all was complete, they left for other more pressing duties.

The next day Comptes continued talking to Navitona about the monument and Navitona said to him, Father, this is so important, that we must leave tomorrow and search for, as you called them, gem stones. We must make sure we have just the right one for the Joncar Stone. It must be like your dream, clear, bright, and colorful. Comptes agreed with his son and added, "We must go out by the downward ridges and search the caves. Jealon showed me a cave that had beautiful colored stones scattered all across the cavern floor.

But I think that we should also invite Kibling to assist us for he has extra insights into selecting valuable and beautiful things. Kibling, when asked, said he would be delighted to go if he could bring along his son, Arteson. All agreed and set the time to go at nusea early up hence. The next morning they left, exuberant, and with great expectations.

Do-o-magnicent had just arrived from the High Council of Wizards with the orders to reintroduce the Glowing Ball of Knowledge to the colony leaders. He came just as they were finishing the planning session and he observed their plan to search for the gems the next morning. He knew this was the best opportunity to set his plans in motion. He hid the glowing ball in a secure and out of the way place. Then he hovered over the search party as they were starting up the trail. He remained in a transparent mode for this was not the right time to present himself to them. From a position higher up, he watched their every movement to make sure they were heading toward the cave of colored stones. After the wizard was sure where they were headed, he quickly retrieved the glowing ball and headed up to the cave. He certainly wanted to plant the ball way ahead of Comptes, Kibling, and their sons.
