Life Defining Poems - Stuart Skeete
Absence
Here today. Gone tomorrow
You get taken leaving others immersed in sorrow
Absence makes the heart grow fonder
Why do we die? I have to sit and wonder
The absence of love is so insanely tragic
You want that special person to fill your life with magic
The lack of a warm hug or gentle safety of a kiss
It becomes a bug when you miss that tranquil bliss
When you lose your talent or skill
You feel so ill
Clouded so much that you wanna kill
You have to be at peace before you cease let those blessed internal waters run still
What is absent for you?
Why are your skies not blue?
You should be glad not sad
Time will heal but it cannot steal the smile from your face
You have to be the one to remove the disgrace
Absent opportunities can be someone else’s fortunity
The absence of power
Gives life to that endless shower
The taste is sour as you helplessly watch your dreams get devoured
Feel like you're drowning in a bottomless ocean
Confused from the commotion
Travelling in circles faster than the slowest motion
Thoughts overflowing
You are shining with all that radiance showing
If your 'absence' makes you lose hope
Find a SPECIAL way to cope
It is the impact of good music
Your choice with your voice do not lose it
Aim
What is your aim?
Money! Power! Fortune and Fame!
Marking your life with a new page
Like wine, you need to get better with age
Faced with endless oppression
It is the cruel succession of lifeless depression
Where do you go? What the hell do you do?
Fight? Reach for the light? Or stay eternally blue?
Money!!! Money!!! Money!!!
Too much or too little makes life so not funny!
Then you get the Power!
Grows by the minute or diminishes every hour
Inside we should be like a sacred flower
That strength that should rain like a thunder shower
When you lose your AIM
Who do you blame?
Others don't care if they stare
All because you gave up or lost your flare
Life should be the one at fault
Dealing with a countless barrage of abuse and assault
Do you think you can still remain tough?
Even if liars force you to bluff
As hard and as impossible as things can be
Not everyone knows or values their destiny
Believe there is a possibility of re-creativity
Win the game!
Achieve your AIM!
You will unlock the key to that mystery
Just have perseverity to make your AIM a reality
Be True!
Be true
Keep it real
Don't be a fool
Love what you do
Do not allow haters to control your life making it blue
Why should those
Tell you how to wear your clothes
Saying you are weak
But make you feel that you can't turn the other cheek
Sometimes the best defence is full on attack
They weigh you down with so much principalities it's enough to break your back
Like a lost soldier going to war
You win. You lose but have no idea what it's all for
Stay TRUE! Keep it real!
Be the best you can no matter how others may feel
Obstacles are there to make you trip
You gotta knock them down like Bruce Lee kicking from the hip!
Sometimes you may have to be aggressive and fierce
Being weak will render you a target for arrows to pierce
People think because their status is high
They can tell you how your life should fly
Unless you fight for your liberty
They will take that too unless you break free
It doesn't matter what colour or skin tone you are
Having the right team can help you reach your dream
Enabling you to become that radiant star
Gotta remain true when you battle untold pains and strife
This is the factor that brings the peaceful rain to your life
Which path you desire to choose
Depends on if you wish to lose
Enjoy what you've been blessed with to do
This is for those who will forever be TRUE!
Beautiful
Let's set things straight
She is so BEAUTIFUL you have to appreciate
Sleek and sexy like a sports car
You notice this as she shines like a star
She
