    Foreword

As the senior pastor of Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist Church, I am charged with shepherding a congregation of over 2,000 members. Being located in an area experiencing many of the difficulties felt throughout our nation, I am thrilled to have this inspirational collection of poems to share with my congregants. Aefricia Sabola’s collection of inspirational poetry seeks to minister to the soul, just as she herself does with a kind word, a prayer, or a smile of encouragement. In a world that can sometimes seem lonely, overwhelming or frightening, Aefricia Sabola’s poetry reaches out with a message of love, grace and comfort that mirrors the vision and mission of my church, my leaders, and me.

Time spent with Aefricia is always time well spent. Reading her collection reminds me of spending time with her. She understands that although our world has changed, it remains the same. Generations before faced the giants of their times, just as we are facing the giants of our times, through economic upheaval, social disparities, and the uncertainties of the future. Aefricia Sabola’s poems remind us that our Redeemer lives and that we, too, can face tomorrow. These lovingly written poems encourage us to hold on until the victory is won.
