Kathy Elliott

I was born on March 11, 1973 in Barbados, West Indies. I attended Workman's Primary school and went on to Springer Memorial High School. During the early stages of my pregnancy I migrated to the USA in March of 1994 and in October gave birth to a beautiful girl. After my daughter's father stopped supporting her, I was forced to go on welfare. I attained my GED and later a cosmetology license only to realize my heart was not into hair. After some intensive thinking, I enrolled in Business Administration at Drake Business School in 1999 and graduated valedictorian. I became a Financial Advisor, but my desire to work more directly with students pushed me to accept a position as an Admission Representative. I acquired my BA in Business Management from Metropolitan College of New York. Currently, I am pursuing my Master's degree in Business Leadership-General at Capella University. On September 13, 2003, I received an award in the 2nd Annual Walk-A-thon from Beulah Church of the Nazarene. Following that award, I received a 2003 award for Higher Achiever and a 2004 award for Extraordinary Performance from Career Educational Corporation, Sanford Brown Institute in New York. I also received an award, Most Outstanding Woman for 2011 from Women's Motivational Services Team. When I saw Barack Obama's eagerness to become President, it motivated and encouraged me to pursue my long-awaited dream. I created Women's Motivational Service to discuss women's issues and to help women fen their purpose in life. My business was established on November 5, 2008 with great success. I have also published several books-"Marriage Separation Divorce Regaining the Light", published in 2009, "Success-How Dare You Give Up!" published in 2011, "Success-Handbook for Teens and Young Adults", published in 2012, and co-author to "Cheers to Your Success! Women on the Rise", published in 2012. I am a Motivational Speaker, and my strongest passion and desire is changing lives. I am a big activist against domestic violence. I speak every month at domestic violence shelters and have a yearly fundraiser for domestic violence moms. Life is a hell of a teacher and no matter what you are faced with you can never, ever give up.

    Words from the author

Choices have to be made. Understand my words: even if you choose to do nothing, that is a conscious decision made by you. If you put nothing into your success, you will suffer the consequences of getting nothing. If you don’t get off your butt and seek success, the world will still continue without you.

You blame your past, the system, your family, friends, and the whole world for where you are in this journey. Frankly, you shouldn’t blame anyone for your shortcomings. Every day in this universe someone is battling life adversities. Notice that successful people are always choosing to find the best methods and techniques to overcome life adversities.

Stop throwing those pity parties. Stop giving repetitive negative stories. Sooner or later no one will want to hear your sad stories. People wish to hear visionary stories that will catapult them into that next level of life.

Anything that happens along your life’s journey is not written in stone. You are the author of your life’s journey. You will at all times have the power to erase and rewrite the chapters. Start writing a new chapter of a revised edition. Life is what you make it. Make the right choices! Success anxiously awaits your arrival!

What lies dormant can be awakened. Ignite the fire within and release your super powers.

    I shall rise

From the ashes of the fire I shall rise

From nothing I shall twist and tweet into the extraordinary

From the impossible I shall create possibilities

From darkness I shall step into the light of favor

From the shores I shall capture the horizon

From the black sheep to great accomplishments

From the bottom of the barrel I shall conquer the mountaintop

From the dust of the dirt I shall succeed

From the womb of my mother I shall
