As a representative of the Christian International Global Network (founded by Bishop, Dr. Bill Hamon) and director of CIGN - Mexico I am always interested in raising up the next generation to fulfill their potential and prophetic destiny. Thats what Ive dedicated my life to doing as I travel in ministry throughout Latin America. Bishop Hamon, has drilled into all of us the need to reproduce reproducers who reproduce reproducers. Thats another way of saying mentoring. Apostle Carlos Lpez is a man uniquely qualified to write this book. He is an effective natural father as well as a spiritual father.

Mentoring Winners - Apostle Carlos H. López

    Contents

    Foreword

    Introduction

    1 Mentoring a Life Foundation

It has been the historical pattern, by far, in preserving a lineage, that a family adhered to the same principles, and most of the entire vehicle was used for the preservation of faith through generations. Jesus was the mentor by excellence.

2 Does Father God Fit the Description or Definition of a Mentor?

There may be a debate about whether this question is valid. I am sure there will be those who will take issue with it, and some may even be insulted. However, I think that for the sake of bringing His kingdom closer to earth, it is worth inviting the debate

    3 What Mentors Have

Distinct characteristics set apart true mentors from the wannabes.

    4 How Mentors Operate

With the concept of globalization now a gravitational word in today’s

world, mentors have a clearer road map to reach people locally and internationally. Even though mentoring is always more effective in a small setting, the Internet is opening an opportunity to build mentor/protégé relationships as never before.

5 Looking Eye to Eye at Current Mentoring in Our Churches Today

We must remove the veil of denial from our eyes when it comes to our present way of training in the church today, if we are to allow the rising of a new generation.

6 Are All Mentors the Same?

Spiritual mentors are different from non-spiritual mentors. The thin line that separates one from the other is called anointing

    7 Jesus and the Twelve

There are wonderful examples of mentoring in the Old Testament, but Jesus’ twelve disciples present a classic type of work of a mentor with a variety of protégés. It gives us the opportunity to scrutinize how our Savior dealt with the different human potential to bring out the best in them.

    8 Mentoring the Whole Man

The focus of mentoring is to develop the entire person, and so the

techniques are broad and require wisdom to be used appropriately. True mentors will raise their protégés with a vision to infl uence not only the nuclear church but to be catalysts of society. No longer will mentors focus with the traditional church mind-set but with a kingdom approach to function in the seven mountains of today’s culture which are religion/church, government, business, arts and entertainment, family, education and media.

9 Making the Message of the Kingdom Plain and Simple

This is the time when the revelation of the kingdom fi nally will become clear and easy to understand.

10 The Magical Relationship between Mentors and Protégés

Authority is the necessary precondition for the mentor and protégé relationship to succeed. In the absence of this prerequisite, the magical element of transferring the mentor’s heart desire to his protégé will fail. Society, as a whole, will fail if this relationship is not implemented.

11 The Role and Responsibility of the Protégé

As we consider the generational benefi ts of mentoring, the role the protégé will play will guarantee the preservation of the fundamental principles of his mentor. The responsibility of the protégé is not smaller or of less importance than that of his teacher or coach in life. For the mentoring process to be complete, the role and responsibility of the protégé has to run a complete and full cycle to secure the intended benefi ts of the mentor-protégé relationship.

    12 Mentoring Winners

Who are these Winners? These are individuals of the present and upcoming generation who don’t surrender when confronted by adversity. They have exceptional courage and faith. Favor dictates their success.

    13 Apostolic Mentoring

Apostolic mentoring is the ideal mentoring to have. This mentoring carries within itself the spiritual ability to perpetuate the vision and purpose of the mentor. It is through this journey that the protégé will reach his highest form of results. The protégé fi nally will discover his new potential and fresh purpose and will reach his final destination

    Conclusion

To my wife, Iris, a true mentor to our four children: Alexis, Christina, Wendy, and Dinorah

To Josiah and Daniel, my two grandsons

To those who have dedicated their lives to mentor their generation

To those who had the wisdom to become protégés or disciples in their lifetime

To my beloved Paul and Silas leadership and ministry family

To those who have given me the honor and privilege to be their mentor

    Foreword

It is a great joy and privilege for me to write the foreword for the book written by Apostle Carlos López, my good friend and colleague in the ministry.

Apostle Carlos hosted me at a wonderful conference in New York. His latest book, Mentoring Winners, should be indispensable reading material for today’s generation of leaders.

Apostle Carlos writes as a scholar and is able to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that mentoring is not a secular word. It is actually fathering. Mentoring and fathering both are needed for this generation of believers. The concept of apostolic mentoring in the principles of the kingdom is what makes this book revolutionary.

Too few people have the understanding of the kingdom today. We need them to come to the forefront of the race, and we need them to show us, not just by teaching but even more so by example, how to bring the kingdom of God to the earth in our postmodern world. After reading this book, I was truly touched and agreed with him that this is the cry of God for this hour. Thank you so much for carrying the banner of the kingdom.

This book is a call for this generation of kingdom carriers to take responsibility for the future generation. The future of the church lies only in this partnership between fathers and sons of the kingdom.

I, therefore, as an apostle in the body of Christ, want to use this opportunity to thank Apostle Carlos López for writing this book and giving us a charge to reveal the kingdom to this generation and the generation to come.

No doubt, this is a book that will outlive this generation.

    Congratulations, Apostle López!

    Your friend,

Senior Pastor of the Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations

    Introduction

Iris and I have exhausted every good principle we’ve learned until today and drilled them unto our children’s minds, as parents and mentors, with three purposes in mind:

    1. Preserve the blessings of our family.

    2. Become everything Father God designed them to be.

    3. Be a blessing to many by becoming agents of change in today’s society, by joining the thousands and thousands of believers who are presently advancing His kingdom on the earth.

It is ironic, but innovators like Steve Jobs (who unfortunately died as I was writing this book), in the effort to make our world simpler, made it more complex for many of us who are not tech-articulate. Concepts, technology, culture, and everything related to life are changing at quantum-leap speed, so that sometimes you get the feeling that living a simple life is no longer possible. From today’s language of communication to the cyber language we’ve been forced to learn, it seems we all need a coach or a guide on a daily basis if we are to successfully reach our destination in everything that we do.

There used to be a time when you placed a phone call and a real person answered on the other end. Not today. Often, your call is answered by a prerecorded message. If you want to place a call from your cell phone, you first have to know how to unlock the device and how to prompt the call before you can speak with your caller. God forbid you have the latest iPhone (smartphone)—you truly need a mentor to make sure you succeed in having a telephone
