About this ebook

Have you ever wondered, Whats it all about? Gods answers for all lifes problems are recorded in the Bible. Each chapter of Within These Walls explains a different aspect to understanding the Scriptures, seeking to help the reader fit together all the pieces of the puzzle and receive Gods love and wisdom for his or her life.

There are three important steps for every person to help him or her determine what this life is all about: find God, walk with God, and finish with God. There is one more necessary ingredient, and that is faith. Gods Word is truth and there for us to receive, but without a persons faith, little benefit will be experienced. The journey must start with God, continue with God, and finish with God. If those steps are taken in faith, then what its all about will no longer be a mystery.

Each chapter in Within These Walls helps the reader to understand Gods Word and apply it to his or her life. As you read through the chapters of this book, ask God to open your spiritual eyes to what He is telling you.

    PREFACE

My motivation in taking pen in hand and writing Within These Walls was the Lord’s prompting; otherwise, I would not have done so. The Lord came into my life in 1980, and He immediately set me free from sin and death. The New Testament of the Holy Bible tells us that God is no discriminator of persons, and His heartfelt intent is to redeem every living soul on this planet. If after reading this short book only one individual is set free from sin and death, I will have achieved the goal God inspired in me. What God revealed to me that has required my utmost attention and concern for others is that lost souls are both inside and outside church walls.

God has had two major covenants with people on this earth. The first covenant was given to the Jewish people. The second covenant was first offered to the Jews and then to the Gentiles. There should be no mystery regarding the new covenant of God. The moment God’s Son gave up His life on the cross, a monumental change took place, one that ushered in the second covenant. Upon the death of Jesus, the curtain that divided the Holy of Holies in the Jewish temple was torn from top to bottom. This symbolized that no longer can only the high priest meet with God—and then only on the annual Day of Atonement—but all men can meet with God each and every day. One requirement, however, must still be met. Just as under the first covenant—our sins must be atoned for if we intend to know and meet with the Most Holy God. No longer is the blood of an animal acceptable. The only admissible blood sacrifice is now the blood His Son shed on the cross.

The established religious tenets and priesthood that once linked us to God are no longer valid. They have been replaced with the High Priest, who lives forever—God’s very own Son. No longer can one be the mediator between God and man. That role is strictly allocated to God’s Son. The error of some churches, which may prove to be the most costly of all, is replacing that torn curtain with just another new curtain, preventing us from reaching God on our own.

I pray this small book will open one’s heart to the loving Savior of the world. His name is Jesus!

    A Special Note:

Throughout Scripture, the words man/men/mankind are understood to mean both genders. I have followed the same format in this book.

For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5)

This Scripture is understood to refer to all people.
